  1. I thought this thread was going to be about bringing in Fred in some sort of coaching capacity (I'd be on board with that). He was too slow to play in the NFL 3 years ago...
  2. As has been mentioned many times the 6-3 abomination against Cleveland is the worst game I've attended. That was the first game I attended where I could legally drink, and I decided to be all responsible and not get blackout drunk. I still regret that to this day as I vividly remember the 9 false starts by the Bills and winning QB Derek Anderson going 2/17. Honorable mentions: 10-3 loss to the 49ers in 2008. The 49ers scored a TD on their first drive and did pretty much nothing for the rest of the game. Bills offense could move the ball consistently, but we consistently blew it on the 49ers side of the field. Lindell doinked 2 FG's off the uprights. Rainy, cold weather and the realization that we would be extending the drought after starting the year 5-1 made for a thoroughly depressing game. http://www.espn.com/nfl/recap?gameId=281130002 15-10 loss to the Dolphins in 2010 (home opener). Both teams sucked. Trentative was at his worst. He threw a checkdown on 4th down with <10 seconds left in the game and the Bills down by 5. Needless to say we didn't convert that 4th down and the Dolphins knelt to end the game. http://www.espn.com/nfl/recap?gameId=300912002 47-10 loss to the Saints in 2017. I remember sitting there at halftime thinking we're "only" down 17-3 if we get a defensive stop and score a TD on our first possession of the 2nd half we're right back in this. The 10 play 94 yard drive where the Saints ran the ball all 10 plays and ended it with a 7 yard Drew Brees rushing TD was probably the worst defensive effort I have ever seen from the Bills. There are (sadly) many other awful games to chose from. Those are just the one's that I've personally attended.
  3. Both of these accusations read like women that are upset they got herpes and are looking for a payout.
  4. I'm baffled. What is the "rules of play"? Everything I've read said Elliott broke the NFL's code of conduct. Including this article on NFL.com (emphasis mine). http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000877852/article/ezekiel-elliott-withdraws-appeal-will-serve-suspension Elliott was suspended by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in August following a year-long investigation into domestic violence allegations made by Tiffany Thompson, his former girlfriend. The league concluded he violated its personal conduct policy, which mandates a six-game suspension for first-time domestic violence violations. Elliott, 22, was never charged and has denied wrongdoing.
  5. I think you're missing the fact that Ezekiell Elliott was suspended for 6 games even though he never even faced criminal charges, let alone a conviction. If this story drags out and causes a black eye for the NFL then Shady will 100% be suspended. Regardless if he faces criminal charges or not.
  6. I guess by your definition Rae Carruth wasn't "directly involved" in the murder of his pregnant ex-girlfriend? He wasn't directly on the scene after all
  7. Ezekiel Elliot was never criminally charged and was still suspended for 6 games. Adrian Peterson was out an entire year because he took a switch to his kid (pretty minor criminal charges).
  8. Mccoy doesn't need to be guilty (or even charged) to be suspended by the league. If they deem Shady is hurting their public image they can suspend him for any number of games under the personal conduct policy. I think the only way he can avoid a suspension is if this story is resolved very quickly (payoff). Worst case if Shady ordered a posse member to rob and pistol whip this girl it's probably the end of his career.
  9. It's hard to know what type of value you can get in a trade for a player in the NFL. The value of a player can fluctuate pretty wildly. Marshawn Lynch was traded for a 4th round pick. So was Bryce Brown. Tyrod Taylor (who the Bills were almost guaranteed to cut) was traded for a 3rd pick. AJ Mcarron (who was reportedly going for a 2nd+3rd rd pick before the Browns deadline snafu) walked as a UFA. Jimmy G was traded for a 2nd round pick. Generally I would say Beane has done well on trades. I would have rather kept Ragland and Dareus (especially Ragland), but I can see why they were traded. Keep in mind with Dareus that we are still on the hook for about 14mil in dead cap in the 2018-2019 season and that his original contract had a potential out after that season ended. Trading him netted us a 5th round pick and about 2mil of cap space in the 2018-2019 season.
  10. The other major sports leagues have guaranteed contracts and that doesn't seem to be a problem there.
  11. Ragland had a very solid season for the Chiefs after McBeane traded him for a hill of beans. I don't really want to trade Shaq at this point. We'd be selling low on a guy that has a lot of potential (similar to Ragland trade).
  12. I don't have high expectations for the 2018-2018 season, but I am optimistic for the future.
  13. I find when people say "overly politically correct" or "I'm not a racist, but" that almost nothing they say is worthwhile. That "article" didn't make me change my mind (I'm actually annoyed I went for the bait and clicked on it). There is absolutely nothing wrong with Hue saying that Tyrod will be the starter. Tyrod can be a perfectly acceptable bridge QB for them to start this year while Baker adjusts to the NFL. It's probably the smart thing to do to bring Baker along slowly. There's also nothing stopping Hue from changing his mind and starting Baker if he looks amazing in training camp/pre-season. Coaches have been known to say things in May that end up differently in September when the season starts...
  14. Did that hit ruin Trent Edwards career? No, No, No, No, and No. A lot of Bills fans cling to this idea, and it's demonstratively wrong. The best game of Edward's career (vs Chargers) came AFTER that concussion. Edwards was NEVER good and the 4-0 start to the 2008 season was born of lucky scheduling. The best record any of those 4 teams had at the end of the 2008 season was 5-11
  15. The trade up to draft Sammy was bad, but not the disaster it could have been. Luckily for us we our 2015 1st ended up at 19th overall, and there really wasn't much left in a pretty weak draft class.
  16. Aaron Rodgers comes to mind. Although it is impossible to know what his career would've looked like had he started from day 1 .
  17. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2535585-sheldon-richardson-arrested-after-going-143-mph-latest-details-on-jets-dt Very similar situation. At least Richardson didn't threaten the officer's wife?
  18. Not sure what to take outta this. It's not the concussions that lead to CTE! It's the hard hits to the head that almost always result in concussions that leads to CTE! Reminds me of Jeremy Clarkson's quote: “Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary… that’s what gets you.”.
  19. Agree with most of what was said. We didn't really "dump his contract" though. He's still counting for 14mil deadcap next season
  20. Actually, this weekend shows that you can make a conference championship game with a pretty mediocre QB if the rest of the team is good enough. Case Keenum and Blake Bortles are pretty bad QB's. Blake Bortles is significantly worse than Tyrod at throwing the ball. Keenum is probably slightly better than Tyord at throwing the ball. I hesitate to put Nick Foles on that list. If Foles was starting the whole year there is no way the Eagles get a first round bye and home field advantage. That being said, I do think he's a better passer than TT.
  21. Are you Kelvin Benjamin's agent? He's been in the league for 4 years now and I think it's safe to say he is NOT a #1 WR. His ceiling, if he can stay healthy (which he hasn't), is a pretty good WR2.
  22. Tyrod - nothing (and I'm a Tyrod supporter). The lack of interest league wide in Tyrod last year says a lot. Glenn - 3rd? Tough to say missing most of a year with injury. Lawson - 4th. Lot of missed time due to injury. Not very impressive when healthy Hughes - 3rd? He's a quality player, but signed to a big contract and had a down year. That being said, I'd much rather keep Glenn, lawson, Hughes. We'd be selling low if we trade them this offseason.
  23. Counter-argument: Pegula bucks Any of those concerns will be more than smoothed over by giving this potential OC a little extra $$
  24. If we signed Cousins I think the Bills would be a popular playoff pick (definitely not a SB favorite though).
  25. Classic. If you can't refute an argument with actual evidence you can break out with the "did you even watch the game". To be clear: I'm not saying that Tyrod is a very accurate QB. I'm saying the Bills lack of YAC has more to do with our playcalling than it does with Tyrod's accuracy.
