Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
John Fox, as Head Coach of the Broncos with Peyton Manning went 13-3, 13-3, and 12-4 in the regular season and 2-3 in the playoffs (1 SB appearance). He was fired after the 12-4 season. I don't think McD will be fired for not making the SB, but he'll be on the hot seat. Expectations are a hell of a drug and the expectation for this Bills roster is Superbowl. -

Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only way I could justify it is if we had 12 men on the field and wanted to avoid a penalty, or they had an uncovered gunner that they could throw too. The broadcast was worthless though so I have no idea. Brutally bad timeout -
Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme

Has anyone mentioned taking a timeout on the Dolphins 1st punt? Wasting that timeout blew our chance at a FG at the end of the 1st half. -
Truthfully, I had the opposite take on his 4th down decisions last night. You have a human cheat code at QB operating one of the best offenses in the league. If you have a 4th and 1 on the opponents side of the field you should almost always be trying to convert it. It shouldn't require the QB to wave at the sidelines to convince the head coach of that. Why are we bothering with these shenanigans trying to draw the opponent offside? It's backfired on us a number of times. Including our failed 4th and 1 attempt where Shakir didn't react after the ball was snapped. It looked like the offense wasn't ready to run a play (presumably b/c McDermott didn't want them to run a play - just try to get Titans to jump). This also happened in the Steelers game last year.

Pretty much this. Bit of a segue on #5 that our run game was atrocious. We padded the stats in garbage time, but I believe midway through the 3rd we had 16 yards rushing on 8 rushing plays by our RBs (JA had a legendary 10 yard scramble in the 1st). Singletary started the game with a 16 yard run, then our next 7 rushing attempts amounted to 0 yards.

Don't most teams have a dedicated person to watch all broadcasts/replays to determine when to challenge? It's an embarrassment if our process is to rely on our head coach to watch an in-stadium replay on a jumbotron. What if we're on the road and they deliberately don't show a replay on a big play that would be overturned? I'm hoping McDermott was using it as an extended timeout....which is still pretty lame (defensive timeout that the offense converts anyway).

Chiefs LB Willie Gay suspended 4 games
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
If memory serves didn't this happen right before the playoff game last year? Some (hopeful) speculation from Bills fans he would've been suspended for that game. Kinda random they are suspending him for weeks 3-6 -
Timeouts on Rams last drive
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Toledo Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Rams were flipping between running the clock out and actively going hurry-up to try and score. I have no problems with McD using timeouts there. The issue I had with timeouts was not using them at the end of the first half. McD should've used them and forced the Rams to decide if they wanted to risk missing a very long FG with enough time on the clock for the Bills to run a play or two and kick a FG of their own. Letting the clock tick down to 4 seconds was a tactical mistake. -
You don't remember the phantom holding call on Mitch Morse that wiped out a 1st down conversion by Josh? One of the worst calls I've ever seen. I'm trying to find a clip of it online, but the NFL does a great job of scrubbing stuff like that out. The very next play the refs called a weak RTP on the Chiefs when Allen threw an INT. Did I miss a New/Changed Rule?
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we're all going to have rose colored glasses when it comes to Josh, but I don't think he's known for sliding/fake outs. Although he has gotten better at drawing roughing calls. I've noticed he'll sometimes not brace for hits from defenders and allow himself to be jostled by hits that really aren't that bad. He's drawn a few borderline flags by doing that. Thinking of plays like this one (even though the refs picked the flag up) -
Who’s still mad about 13 seconds?
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall
When did we fire Frazier/McDermott ? They deserve so much more blame than ST coach -
Colts beat the Texans 31-3 and 31-0 last season. I'd be shocked if the Texans even cover the spread. My pick for upset is Atlanta over New Orleans. NFCS games are always a dog fight and the game is in ATL

NFL Covid policy....does anyone know what it is?
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Beast's topic in The Stadium Wall
USA thing for non-US citizens visiting the country https://www.espn.com/tennis/story/_/id/34457783/unvaccinated-novak-djokovic-withdraws-us-open-travel-united-states On Wednesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's guidance on international travel was updated to say: "Non-U.S. citizen, non-U.S. immigrants: You must show proof of being fully vaccinated with the primary series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine before you board your flight to the United States. Only limited exceptions apply." -
When was Moss ever RB1 ? He's never topped 15 carries and/or 100 yards in a game. Moss's "promising" rookie season was worse than Singletary's sophomore slump. Singletary has performed significantly better than Moss behind the same garbage o-line. All that being said, no I don't think Singletary makes 1k rushing yards this season. He won't get enough carries. McD loves gifting touches to Moss even though Singletary is better.
