  1. Yea... I would need to know who he was talking to and what they were talking about. A teams QB doing everything he can to improve and win more games is normally a good thing.
  2. That's fair enough. I think this will be a very challenging offseason for Beane. With Allen's contract kicking in we're already over the 2023 cap with only 39 active roster players. We have 4 basic routes for the pass rush 1) Free Agency - this would require a ton of contract restructuring to bring in a difference maker. Particularly if we keep Edmunds and/or Poyer. 2) Draft - can we really afford to allocate more draft capital to the defense? Our offense has been neglected for years and is bad outside of Allen/Diggs. If we replace those 2 guys with league average players this would easily be a bottom 10 offense 3) Trade? - this is a tough option. We don't have extra draft capital and I don't want to trade any of our quality players. Getting mid round picks for our rotational guys isn't going to move the needle in obtaining a quality pass rusher. 4) Stand pat and hope Von Miller returns at 100% and/or other guys currently on the roster (IE Basham, Epenesa) improve. Personally I'm leaning option 4, but it does depend on who is available at our draft picks. I'd like to see our draft picks heavily weighted towards O-Line or WR but if there's a fantastic pass rusher there we should pick that guy. I don't think anyone would complain if we draft another Groot late in the 1st.
  3. I'm all for unloading those guys, but what type of value would we get? I have a hard time believing we'd get better than a 4th for either of them I think the plan for pass rush next season just needs to be cross your fingers and hope Von Miller returns to play at the level he was prior to the injury.
  4. Depending on context sometimes you really want Skylar to give you a hard time
  5. Not a big surprise here. The Von Miller signing was our "all in" moment. We're not screwed for the future like the LA Rams though
  6. As with many scandals it's not about the actual transgression, it's about the coverup. If Vincent had explained his actions and thought process (and perhaps apologized) this would be a non-story. His initial reaction was to follow the rule book and say the game should continue. Then, after the situation progressed and he had more discussions with Bills/Bengals/other NFL officials he ultimately agreed that the game should be postponed. Instead he's lying about it and saying he never once said the game had to resume. That's why this is a story and why he looks like a major asshat.
  7. I think my issue with this team is that we're not playing up to our potential. The last time we brought our "A game" on both sides of the ball in the same game was week 5 vs Steelers when we were leading 31-3 at HALFTIME. Since then there's been a lot of up and down on both sides of the ball. There's been a few "A" performances by the offense and a few by the defense, but it hasn't happened in the same game.
  8. It's not up to the NFL - the decision rests with Miami team doctors and the independent neurological consultant. Bills at -10 though... Vegas certainly seems to think there's no chance Tua is playing and Vegas is normally right.
  9. I think it's concerning. I have a really hard time seeing us beat the Bengals or Chiefs if our DEF plays like that.
  10. We're objectively worse than the Chiefs even though we beat them head to head on the road ? That's a take I guess
  11. Everyone is at risk for commotio cordis and it's not something that you can really manage. It's an exceptionally rare combination of being hit with enough force in the exact right spot at the exact right millisecond. If that does end up being the final diagnosis I see no reason why he couldn't return to the NFL. Chris Pronger suffered from commotio cordis in '98 after being hit in the chest with a puck and played in the NHL another 10+ seasons.
  12. I'm still mad at McD for benching him in the Chargers game. I wanted to see 10 INTs in 1 game
  13. Your scenario would have the 11-5 Bengals clinch the AFCN over the 11-6 Ravens. The Bills/Bengals matchup would determine who wins the AFCN (Bills would be locked in at #1 regardless).
  14. I'd call it both a drop and a bad pass - with more blame assigned to Beeze than Allen. Allen threw a catchable ball and Beeze didn't make the above-average difficulty catch. In the modern NFL if a WR gets 2 hands on the ball and doesn't bring it in it's absolutely a drop. That might've been a circus catch 20 years ago, but guys routinely make catches like that around the league now. As far as the rest of the game had been going.... our DEF was getting shredded, but they have the bad habit of starting slow before righting the ship. I was concerned with how easy it looked for the Bengals O but not overly worried. Pretty disappointed by the wasted timeout on offense. Josh snapped the ball with 4 seconds on the playclock and completed a pass to Davis for an ~8 yard gain. No idea why McD panicked there and blew a TO.
  15. Sadly it's not that uncommon for an ambulance to be on the field. We saw one earlier this year for Dane Jackson in the Titans game when his neck bent backwards after a tackle (I'm still amazed he only missed one game). Tua in Cincinnati with that fencing response after being concussed. That's just off the top of my head for games I watched this season. I'm guessing Schefter meant that it's the first time he's ever seen an ambulance on the field in a literal life or death situation. I'd agree with him on that
  16. SS is just not a very valuable position in today's NFL. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/strong-safety/ Poyer probably could've earned more on the open market rather than sign an extension with the Bills in 2020, but it's not like we're ripping the guy off. He's the #1 SS in the league this season by both cap hit and base salary.
  17. Josh threw some dumb INTs, but I don't know why the Defense gets no blame for allowing 174 rushing yards to the Jets and a career best passing day to Zach Wilson. Bass missed a FG too. Plenty of blame to go around
  18. Bills fans when the old washed up has been turns out to actually be an old washed up has been
  19. Apologies if this was discussed earlier in the thread... Does anyone find it ironic that the NFL is OK with a team sitting it's starting QB in an obvious tank move ? They investigated the Dolphins because a disgruntled/fired coach (Flores) claimed the owner would pay him money to lose games in his first year. They apparently don't care that the Raiders are actively throwing 2 games to end the season. The Bills did the same thing to Tyrod in 2016 and I thought it was a pretty shady move then
  20. I don't have any complaints about Mitch Morse's play, but is he really the 2nd best center in the AFC ?
  21. No he's not becoming a diva. He's always been a diva. Still the same guy he was in Minnesota (which isn't a bad thing when the team is winning)
  22. The Fail Mary was Seahawks and Packers with scab refs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXGFZkIEMK0&ab_channel=NFL
  23. Watkins has a lot more tread left on his tires than Brown or Beasley. I'd sign him to the PS if he clears waivers and is interested in playing here.
  24. How many NFL players have been injured by a snowball ? If we're serious about player safety... playing in 120 heat index is significantly more dangerous than having snow balls thrown at you. Korey Stringer died of heat stroke in 2001. The Bills had 3 (?) different players leave the game at Miami early due to heat related issues. Not to mention countless cramps. Sure, it's not exactly a 1:1 comparison as snowballs are fan behavior whereas heat is just nature.
