What’s your offer for WR Jerry Jeudy?
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
The hype for Jeudy doesn't match up with his results in the NFL. 3 years in and he has an abysmal catch rate. Hasn't topped 1k yards in a season yet either. He's had bad QBs and injury issues so there's still a lot of potential, but this has to effect his trade value. I think our 2nd rd pick would be fair. Maybe Ed Oliver + late picks if the Broncos like Oliver. -
Report: Dolphins exploring “moving on” from Tua
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
3 concussions in 3 months is devastating, but it doesn't make much sense for them to make a move this season. Dolphins don't have much in the way of draft capital (lost their 1st due to tampering LOL) and not a lot of cap space. I'd expect them to ride it out this year and evaluate Tua. If he can't stay healthy this year they 100% need to move on. Maybe they could do a Tua + for Lamar trade. That's about the only path I see for no Tua in Miami next year. -
If you told me 4 years ago that we'd have 4 straight playoff appearances and 4 playoff wins I would've been ecstatic and say that McD far exceeded expectations.. The problem is that the 2020-2021 reset my expectations. We had a top 3 QB on a rookie contract. The expectation should really be SB and the best we've done is a blowout loss in the AFCCG. Some bad luck that we played against the Chiefs/Bengals playing at their best, but that's the NFL. The 30mm+ in free cap space that a rookie QB contract gives you is such an insane competitive advantage. If McD couldn't get it done these last 3 years it's hard to imagine he'll be able to going forward.

It's ironic to use the Chiefs as a comparison. They fired their DC (Sutton) after losing to the Patriots in the AFCCG. Their defensive performance in that game was eerily similar to the Bills in the 13 seconds game. Per Wiki: "Sutton had reportedly lost the support of players and coaches who felt that his "lack of adjustments has been a non-stop frustration", so he was relieved of his duties two days after the loss to the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game,[6] when the Chiefs defense twice failed to hold a 4th quarter lead and surrendered several 3rd and long conversions on New England's game-winning touchdown drive in overtime. The overtime drive highlighted Sutton's weaknesses that cost him his job, as the Patriots largely converted those 3rd downs on near-identical plays."

Should link to the actual ESPN article that has a lot of details, and not "amp.thecomeback.com" https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35726691/former-partners-say-dan-snyder-used-team-fund-lifestyle-took-improper-loan-their-approval As far as Goodell goes I think this is the relevant section: The NFL guarantees all debt taken out by teams. If a franchise wants to take on a new loan beyond strict set limits, it usually must get the permission of the league's finance committee and 24 of 32 owners. McCarthy, the NFL spokesman, did not answer a question about whether the finance committee and the 32 owners had approved Washington's new credit line. A franchise owner and a senior executive said Goodell is not responsible for scrutinizing the terms and conditions of loans. However, a team cannot assume fresh debt, which is guaranteed by the NFL, without Goodell's approval. Snyder, on the other hand, sounds like he may have committed fraud. He needed the board's approval to take out a new loan and he never got it (I'm unclear why the bank ever approved the loan though).

I normally wouldn't suggest that Wawrow was trying to skate by on a technicality, but there was an awful lot of smoke about Frazier's contract expiring this offseason after the Bengals loss, AND Wawrow's tweet was a little ambiguous. Now we get this bizarre story of Frazier "taking a year off" with no explanation given.

A REPORTER THINKS Packers are "done with Rodgers"
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
“They are done with Rodgers,” McGinn said, citing his own instincts, his knowledge of the league, and “discussions with someone who [has] first-hand knowledge” of the Packers. HAHAHAHA This "reporter" is citing his own instincts? I know journalism isn't held to the same standards it once was, but this is a joke right? -
Bills sign S Zayne Anderson to a 2 year deal
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll trust Beane more than random posters on the Chiefs reddit or Chiefsplanet, but I haven't seen a single nice comment about this guy. He's a special teams "ace" that apparently sucks at special teams and made numerous critical mistakes. -
Tremaine Edmunds will test free agency
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would've liked to see Edmunds sign here at a discount, but I have nothing against Edmunds if he wants to try to maximize his earnings in FA. I'll wish him the best (other than when he plays the Bills). It shouldn't be hard to find a JAG that can do ~80% of what Edmunds does for ~20% of the cost. It also shouldn't be difficult to draft a replacement with the 3rd round comp pick that Edmunds would net us. Of course that would require Beane to actually follow the comp pick formula and not just sign a ton of backup level players to small deals. -
This might be the dumbest thread I've seen so far this year. How is a sneak specialist worth a roster spot? Hurts is the Eagles starting QB and not eating up an extra roster spot to be a 3rd/4th and short specialist. You're not even making an argument here. FWIW the Bills offense were the best in the league at 3rd down conversions this year.

Draft Success Measured by AV - Part III
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to JGMcD2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do you have an AV breakdown by player ? I'm curious how a guy like Spencer Brown rates. As a 3rd round pick just being a starter will look good on some metrics. -
Josh = Phil Rivers (just messenger)
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh has already had 3 regular seasons (in a row) better than Rivers best regular season and more playoff success to boot. Where's the comparison ? -
I actually liked the intentional grounding call. It was closer to 10 yards in front of the RB. I thought the refs missed a couple of blatant grounding calls on both teams during the game. The personal foul to end the game was a 100% have to call it penalty. Mahomes was a full yard out of bounds before the guy shoved him. Not a whole lot of force but holy moly was it late. Refs probably favored the Chiefs overall, but the Chiefs did have a TD called back on a ticky tack holding penalty.

Is anyone disputing that the offense sucked vs the Bengals? My issue with the defense is that they've ***** the bed in three straight playoff losses. The offense sucked vs Bengals, had an incredible game last year, and 2 years ago had a so-so game. Over the 3 games combined we've forced 5 punts and 0 turnovers. It's impossible to win when your DEF is playing that poorly.

Allowing 27 points is not in and of itself terrible. If you look at all the stats for the game it's pretty easy to say the defense was terrible. 27 points 412 yards 30 first downs 2 forced punts (1 in garbage time) 1 sack (2 yards lost) 0 turnovers If our offense gave us a ~5% chance of winning the game our defense gave us <1% chance of winning.
