I doubt Paradis leaves the Broncos but I don't think I'd be on board with a rookie C starting for my 2nd year QB, the C position is like the QB of the OL, I'd be fine with Bodine and drafting the best C possible. Maybe they move Dawkins to G, I don't forsee that happening only because there are like 3 other teams including the Jets who have close or better cap space than us. If I had to guess I'd say we keep Dawkins at LT, sign C Travis Swanson, LG Quinton Spain and RT Darryl Williams, keep Teller at RG also draft a C in the the 2nd or 3rd round, possibly resign Mills/Groy as adequate depth but that's just my opinion.

There's nothing wrong with that scenario. It's a significant bump up in talent IMO.?

Yeah getting overrated around here, I think. I remember Chris Simms saying the Chiefs should line Chris Jones up over Glowinski all day because he was the weak link on that line.

Saffold is no superstar but he's a solid player and the better of the two.

Its the blind TBD non research anythings better than what we got call for help. Glowinski would be a Melvin Fowler AT BEST. I would lose instant hope for OG Bobby Johnson if we even pursued him. 4-5 way better options than him at least. Ex: Saffold, Foster, Spain, Levetrie, just to name 4, probably another 4 better too.

Starting to think we should sign Williams and Trent Brown, move Dawkins to guard and draft the best center possible.  Paradies has been my target, but looking at his age and his injuries+ the $ he’ll command, I don’t think he’s our best option.

Me too. Perfect way to go.

McDermott has been a wizard the last 2 years finding a way to field a good defense without a DL that's going to win matchups with any consistency. He's a master at diagnosing during the week the areas of the field an offense likes to attack and dropping guys into zones in the right places to make a QB hesitate. They also have a lot of ways to 'simulate pressure' (stunts/twists/games) to free guys up.

But even so, the pass rush disappears for full games at times. A team like New England diagnoses what we do and coaches their guys up ahead of time on what to expect, and Brady has all day.

At some point we're going to have to address the DL and get the horses that can actually win matchups up front. At some point we have to be the line with the better talent.

It seems like in the 1st round, DL may be the best meeting of need and value.

It is, and it's pretty clear cut imo

There is a lot of talk of a team like the Redskins trading up possibly with the Bills to get the QB of their choice.

I'm thinking the QB market goes like this:

    Foles to Jacksonville

    Bridgewater to Miami

    Flacco to Miami

    Tannehill to Washington

    Haskins to NY Giants

    Lock to Denver

With this a very possible scenario, I see the trade up being with Atlanta going up for a DT.

Here is my first picks thru the Buffalo trade down

    Arizona - Nick Bosa

    San Francisco - Josh Allen

    NY Jets - Quentin Williams

    Oakland - Clelin Ferrell

    Tampa Bay - Greedy Williams

    NY Giants - Dwayne Haskins

    Jacksonville - Ed Oliver

    Detroit - Devin White

    Atlanta - Christian Wilkins

    Denver - Drew Lock

    Cincinnati - Kyler Murray

    Green Bay - Deonte Thompson

    Miami - Dexter Lawrence

    Buffalo - Dalton Risner

Bills trade from 9 to 14

    get Falcons 3rd and 4th

Bills get a versatile guy with great leadership and position flexibility.  Will allow the hopeful addition of T Darryl Williams to play RT and maybe a Quentin Spain or Reuben Foster to play G and keeping Jeff Boline for depth.

    Starting offensive line

Dawkins Teller Risner Foster Williams, depth before round 2 of the draft is Bodine and Bottenger and possible Jordan Mills as swing T.

Hopefully Bills look at WR in round 2, either Hakeem Butler, Deebo Samuels or DK Metcalf

    Round 3 - Picks 74 & 79

    Round 4 - Picks 105, 110, 124

    Round 5 - Picks 136 147

Of course picks 4th and later are affected by added compensatory choices to be determined.

I would consider possibly trading both 3rds to move up in 2nd if Iowa TE Hockenson is available

This also assumes we resign Jordan Phillips and add a WR in FA

    I'm totally on board.

Yea Slauson was slated to start at RG - Glowinski was 1 year contract for a guy intended to backup who had to start. He is fools paradise Glowinski, he got cut from a Seattle line that was desperate for players. Someone is going to pay him decent $$s in 2019 and they are going to regret it.

Thank you. I've been saying Glowinski is an example of " just sign a guy just to sign a guy". All oline will be overpayed, but Glowinski will be the worst of the bunch. Hopefully OG Bobby Johnson knows this and squashes that idea. Btw, Teller will probably be an upgraded to Glowinski in his second year so why throw away cap space. DONT DO IT BEANE

That exactly what I always say in all BPA conversations.   How can you say Harrison Phillips was a better player than Taron, is a great FG kicker better than a great Olineman?   One thing is certain, free agency has a massive impact on who picks who because it changes priorities, and so does pick trading up/down.

Even if everyone had a crystal ball and could see how each college player would transition to NFL three years from now, it would still be impossible to hit on a mock draft before FA and pick trades.

Although I will say a few mocks have us taking Ed Oliver and if you havent seen his highlights.....oh man is he a monster.

If we do pick D in the first, remember how the Pats shredded us for 250 yards on the ground, and it was more than just us missing Milano that day.

Exactly. Everytime we face a strong offense we get rolled.

I appreciate the kind words, fellas. This community really has been good to me, especially over the last year or so, as I've tackled my issues. I don't want to derail the thread but the support really has helped me and it means the world to me.

Back to football before I start crying - I really could go for Cajuste/Dawkins/Paradis at LT/LG/C. I'm a believer that attitude means something on the OL and those guys are all brute force finishers. If Paradis is healthy enough after 2 hip surgeries and a broken leg, he's my #1 free agent OL. He's a joy to watch and so technically sound.

I would love to at least build one dominant side on the oline this offseason. I could absolutely live with that if the other side was just average.

For defense: I'd like to see us make a serious run at Grady Jarrett (DT, Atl), Morris Claiborne (CB, NYJ), and Thomas Davis (LB, Car). Jarrett will be particularly expensive, but I think he'll be worth it as the 3-technique upgrade to Kyle Williams. I also think McDermott will sell Buffalo as his #1 alternative to Atlanta, and I'm not sure Atlanta will bother to match since they are $20 million under with 50 players under contract at the moment.

Love it. Those 3 moves pretty much guarantee the defense keeps functioning at a fairly high level.

I'm not really a Glowinski guy. I think he is the kind of guy you can hide in a good offensive line, which the Colts have been for much of the year. There is a reason he was cut from a Seahawks team with a desperate offensive line need - he just isn't that good. Most good offensive lines have one or two of those guys on there somewhere. Very rare that you have offensive lines with dominant players at all five spots.... the Steelers have been pretty close the last couple of years and the Cowboys had it for a year or two there as well.... but you don't need five all-pros. I think Glowinski is a major candidate to get overpaid this offseason. I hope the Bills give him a wide pass.

Me too. Go after a top guard Glowinski is a weak link of a good line who is now a free agent in a oline desparate league. I would def avoid him.

  11. Watching these playoffs has led me to this approach: 1. I'm doing whatever possible to lend Moorse or Paradis at center. 2. I'm going after Saffold at guard, if I can't land him I'm willing to give up a couple mid round picks for Oselme. 3. I'm going hard after RT Darryl Williams. Yes, I am buying an offensive line. This pretty much allows best Dlineman available at 9 then start picking those skill position guys! We can still even look for mis level fits in free agency at other positions as well.

When considering and evaluating Jonah Williams don't fall into the combine mentality trap of excessively rating a player based on athletic talents. There is no  doubt that he isn't physically imposing or the most athletic lineman to be considered. But if one places the emphasis on position skill and technical skills such as footwork and positioning he should be rated very highly.

Just because Williams doesn't measure as well as some of the other player he is an excellent football player. Ask yourself how many freshman have started for Saban at his elite program and then started for four years? If he is taken at the nine spot by us I will be ecstatic.

Exactly. Joe Thomas didn't test top notch either, but was a great football player. Sometimes you don't wanna overthink certain players and Williams is probably one of em.
