I'm good with Cooper. You don't need a 25-35M guy but you still need talented players.

Personally for me I'm going the free agent route with CB and safety as I think our draft slots do not line up well at all with the value at those positions. DE and DT are deep enough where maybe with a little moving up action we should be able to bring in some fresh new talent there. I'm also very determined to bring in more talent at WR as I believe you cannot stay complacent on offense. How WR gets done will be tricky but make no mistake it absolutely is a need.

Maybe 30 years ago. But that doesn't mean I'm not listening to other avenues...

Free Agents we like for the 2025 Bills?

The offense wasn't unstoppable on that jailbreak play vs KC where Kincaid couldn't come up with the catch. Plus, you cannot stay complacent in the ever changing NFL. -
Idk I'm thinking Williams could potentially be the replacement for Bernard. I'm not 100% positive he could do it smoothly but he would definitely give us a little more size and thump in there.

No value in a trade. Approach him on how to lower his cap hit though, whether it be pay cut, restructure, etc.

So what's the plan going forward here....?
-
All I know is with the depth of defense lineman in this draft if we select a DT and he turns out to be another Terrell Troup.....bye bye Beane

Agreed. I would probably take a 2026 3rd rounder or one of our 2nds to do it. I don't know if I do one of the 2nds or not. If it's for one of the top 3 DEs or top 3 CB... value positions, I probably would then.

You don't draft a NT in round 1 who can't contribute to the pass rush. It's like an unspoken law unless he's guaranteed to be Ted Washington 2 and guess what?. ...there has only been one Ted Washington.
-
Word. A DT at 30 would have to offer high upside pass rush ability on top of having run stuffing skills. Most accurate but funny assessment ever. Well done sir well done😆

I might still do it if we had and executed a kick ass free agency plan. We'd have to bring back Hollins and Cooper(or other WR) and then sign a veteran CB and at least either another safety, or DE.
-
It could play out that way. Gonna have to have nice free agency to allow the draft to come to us. I'd still try and get WR set in free agency because it's a weak draft there but super deep at DE and DT.
-
He would be a phenomenal addition. Obviously kiss Garrett or Crosby goodbye but maybe you luck out in the draft at DE. I wonder if two 2nd rounders ( 1 2025, 1 2026) and a few more assorted mid rounders could do it?

As Randy Quaid said in Independence Day.....I picked a hell of a time to quit drinkin

I definitely believe that is what they were hoping for. Throw in the big miss on Elam and here we are. But it's the ever changing NFL you gotta swing again. I think we may have to pay up for a veteran CB this year and draft someone to keep in the pipeline this year. I'm not sold on Benford outside of this system so I'm very on the fence with paying him. Do worry all, we can still grab a DT or safety in free agency as well, go defense heavy in the draft with a WR sprinkled in , and even run it back with Cooper and Hollins. It may seem like a lot but after all the restructuring is over, we're gonna be fine.

Anyone on the Bills you think could be traded?
TheBeaneBandit replied to KentuckyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Benford is going to be another Josh Norman situation if he goes anywhere else, and I'm only paying Cook 8 million a year MAX. -
Dude the secondary is severely lacking talent as well. It's kinda a 1a 1b situation, with the A being the line of course.
