If he worked out today they must have contacted him before Germain was waived. Be interesting what happens if Germain clears waivers.

The Chiefs still can lose the division. Heck they can still miss the playoffs! If either the Broncos or Raiders win Sunday................... If BOTH Raiders and Broncos win (who play each other Week #18) the Chiefs lose the division with a lost to the Chargers in LA. No one is taking games in Week #17 for granted. Just sit back and enjoy the football action!

Bills getting healthy. Need to stay that way in the NE game!
-
I give it a little better than 50/50 he clears and ends up on the Bills PS. Lots of teams are done for the year. The playoff teams have their lineups.
-
Or the Bills cruise to a 31-13 victory.

I don't compare it to the Bills. I would imagine Payton gave Wilson his shot. That seemed to fail so it's on to Plan B, getting rid of Wilson. I truly believe that's where they are and where they go from here is not worked out at all.

We were mainly talking about next season. I also don't see the Broncos beating the Raiders in Las Vegas.

The not so farfetched way the Bills miss the playoffs
ColoradoBills replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Raiders win out. Bills beat NE. Steelers beat Ravens. Chiefs lose out. Those are 6 games, the result is: Chiefs miss the playoffs. Am I doing this right? -
Most likely this is their plan. After Sunday they know it's playoff time. Waiving a guy gets easier too because most of the teams are finished for the year and increases the odds of getting that guy to the PS. I don't see this as a big issue.

I'm not totally sure it's an all-out tank. It may depend on what Peyton's evaluation of players on the offensive side of the ball. It's the other reason to bench Wilson. He will get a look at how Stidham runs the offense and how they look with him. The second part has to be who is the future at QB for them. He could try to sign a guy like Cousins with a small cap hit in 2024 but Cousins is the only "decent" QB on the market as of now. Cousins could have a choice as to where he goes. Stidham is signed for 2024 and maybe he just gets a Jake Browning or someone to compete and he waits on QB. They will have a chance at some of the 2nd tier rookies. Personally, if I was him, I would keep the D intact and completely redo the O this season. Question on the O is, reach for the QB now or rebuild a cheaper O with the plan to get the QB later. I don't think with the cap situation he will have that he can do both. We all will know which path he is going in March especially if a couple of the big money guys on the O get traded.

We will see. It's Garoppolo money. Daniel Jones just got $92M guaranteed.
-
Bills currently have 10 DL, when Jones comes back one of them go "somewhere".

I'm not a huge college fan so it depends on how many quality QBs are going to be drafted in the Top 10-12. Your teams are the ones probably too far away to get one. So I kind of agree with you. Denver will eat $68M in cap. A team trading for him would have him for 2 years with a total cost of $54M. He has no dead cap after that so a team could move on after 2 years. I can see someone doing that.

That is Wilson post June hit. Broncos would need to carry $85M until they can split it after June 1st. If they are truly doing that, they are tanking in 2024. They would need to release and/or trade a good amount of their big money players. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/denver-broncos/russell-wilson-9885/

It would be nice for Elam (and other backups) to get snaps in the 4th quarter. If the starters can get a big lead, they get some rest. Nice incentive to spank BB's Pats early!
