This is what I keep saying. Make the D defend the entire field, not one guy.
-
Nobody is getting a pass, least off Brandon Beane. He (and McD) are not going anywhere. They are more than competent in their jobs. IF they were fired teams from around the league would be lining up to hire them. As Will Sonnet said, "No brag, just fact".
-
I see no reason for Josh Allen and the Bills WRs needing to get together to practice before the draft. There is plenty of time after the draft. Let the guys have a couple of months off.
-
Of course that is the hope. My point is to bring in camp competition as insurance against him losing it all together.

I am hoping that Bass gets over his bad season. I like the man and the player. He does need camp competition. I wouldn't mind a 7th round pick (or a priority UDFA) coming to camp. I just (for the sake of discussion) want to disprove the "Bass's contract in too expensive to move on from" nonsense. IF a rookie kicker was drafted in the 7th and made the team the $ numbers look like this. Bass - Post June cut - $100k 2024 cap savings. Rookie 7th rounder - $815k. Bass has a 2025 $3M dead cap but due $4.7M. Equates to a cap savings of $1.7M, whereas the rookie would cost less than $1M. The 2026, 2027 cap savings would be over $8M. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/tyler-bass-47784/

interesting WR scenario posed by a friend
ColoradoBills replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Last year all the RBs had 86 targets. Personally, I like to see that go up slightly to 100 for the season. That equates to 1 more per game. FWIW, Johson was 7 of 7 for 8.9 yards per reception. -
Pick #32 - $12.1M contract. Pick #64 - $6.3M contract.

Does Josh Allen still work as hard in the offseason?

Not sure I understand why there is this need for one of the Bills WRs to take over as the primary target and needing to amass a bunch of yards. I feel that Josh Allen is best when he distributes the ball more evenly. There have been times that has happened, and it was successful. Spread the ball around this season. Shakir will get his targets but doesn't need 100+ of them.

Could Dawson Knox be more of a gadget guy?
ColoradoBills replied to akcash's topic in The Stadium Wall
Knox is not a gadget player, but I could see him being the "forgotten" man in the passing attack and slipping out with a lot of field in front of him. That's how I would design some plays. A healthy season could net him 7 TDs. -
Did you survive the server maintenance?

If someone ask's you, "are you are a god"? You answer "YES". -
Are we really going to miss any of the departed players?
ColoradoBills replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I will miss a lot of the veteran players that Beane moved on from. In the long run it's what has to happen to an aging team. I think it would have been bad to have all these guys return especially if the end result was worse than last season. It's a bit of a reset with a fresh start. Time for some of the young guys to step up! -
Did you survive the server maintenance?

Who really is the "server" and who is the "master"? -
Been on vacation to DC to take in all the sites. Had a great time, especially being a student of history. Haven't caught up on all the threads. Sorry if I missed this being posted somewhere.

Don't get me wrong, I totally get your point. We have to wait to see how Beane uses the 2025 pick. Most likely he trades it. On another note. I for one am not a big fan of too many "void year" contracts and too many restructures. All it does is open risk to too much dead money. Beane has pushed it pretty hard hoping for the rings but reality has set in and it's time to regroup. What cracks me up is many fans NOW complaining about too much dead money but are the same people wanting to restructure every player on the team. It's a balancing act that got a little out of hand and now it's time to pay the piper. I got no problem with that. Im still hopeful that the team can compete this year at a high level!
-
That's the cost IF you want to use it this year. Maybe Beane holds on to it.
-
I guess some fans see it as a "complete rebuild". It's the natural way of football when older players need to be moved on from IMO. My main point was in regards to Diggs current cost compared to what his future production is perceived to be. We will have to wait for the season to see how it all works out.
-
Diggs cost a 1st (and change) to acquire. His cost has been $19.5M per year for 4 years AAV. Now Beane gets a 2nd back. Diggs did his job but he is not worth pushing $30M a year for future years. If I look at it that way, it's a wash and time for someone younger to take it farther. Everything has it's time and Beane no doubt thoughts it's now.
-
To take a lesson from last year. We went into the season without any LBs. How did that work out. Just let things take it's course and see what the roster looks like in August and how they play in September.
-
Spotrac already has the $31M. Also, 2025 cap (after Beane lets Von go will be about $40M in cap space. This move was smart and it all depends on what kind of WR room Beane gives Allen and how he and Brady can make it work. NO ONE is going to know this till the fall.
-
I don't. Josh was a young QB who had issues and Diggs helped him gain the NFL confidence he needed. Diggs has done his part. Now it's time for Josh to make good WRs out of average ones.
-
I see it more as a football business move. Clearing his cap hits going forward as he ages will benefit the team. Beane is now in the position to just dump Von Miller at the start of next year. It's all about what Beane can do with the WR room the next 2 drafts and next years FA. I liked Diggs but even I was starting to not care for the drama he was starting.

Dalton Kincaid’s 1st season highlights
ColoradoBills replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I see Dalton and Josh teaming up for years to come. Dalton's 2nd season will be a big one for him. As others have said, Brady will get him more targets (and more primary targets) down the seam. He is a driven player from all reports, so I expect he will be working on a lot of things to improve his overall game. Lots of his drops/incompletions were tough catches and he will adjust to Josh's throwing style more and more. Dalton needs a lot more targets in the red zone IMO. That would bring up his TD totals. -

The Case for Trading Back [Discussion]
ColoradoBills replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let's take a look at what potential trade partners that Beane might have in trading back into the 2nd round. First, let's talk about Pick #28 worth 660 points. Trading for a 3rd worth anywhere from 265 (Pick #65) to 3rd round comp Pick #100 (100 points) gives Beane some room but it all depends on how far back in the 2nd he would want to go. 1). I for one, wouldn't want Beane trading back past Pick #41 (Green Bay 490 points). If GB wants to move up into the 1st they got a 3rd rounder at Pick #88 (150 points). Could do a lower round swap to even the worth. 2). Carolina has Pick #33 and #39. They don't have a 1st rounder. Could be a potential trade partner. 3). Washington has Pick #36 and #40. They too could be a trade partner. 4). Arizona already has 2 1st rounders and Pick #35. They probably stand put. 5). Doubt Beane trades with NE at Pick #34. 6). LA Chargers have Pick #37 but their 3rd is too high to trade with the Bills. 7). The last of that early 2nd round teams in the TEN Titans. They are low on pick and don't have a 3rd rounder. The way I see it, Carolina, Washington and Green Bay are pretty good potential trade partners. Of these 3, Washington may well want to get back into the 1st and make a splash Day 1. They seem to have the right picks for the Bills to get either Pick 100 (worth 100 points) or Pick #78 (worth 200 points). Washington does not have a 4th rounder. TRADE: Bills #28 (660 points AND Pick #133 (39.5 points) 699.5 POINTS TOTAL for Washington Pick #40 (500 points) AND Pick #78 (200 points) 700 POINTS TOTAL OR TRADE: Bills #28 (660 points) for Washington Pick #36 (540 points) AND Pick #100 (100 points). I like this trade very much! Depending on Beane's board, it's a possibility.
