THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Receivers are a Dime a Dozen
ColoradoBills replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
He is not trading for Metcalf or Aiyuk. Not happening. -
He was signed to a fully guaranteed 1 year contract. It costs $2.25M if he is released anytime before the season. Once the season starts it's still guaranteed. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/25275/marquez-valdes-scantling
-
I think he's a lock too. $2.25M fully guaranteed. If he shows any rhythm with Josh on the long ball in camp, he makes the team IMO.
-
First 4 definitely locks. I give Hollins about a 90% chance of a lock going into camp. It sure is going to be a dog fight for the 6th WR spot and the primary PS slot.

My fondest memory is walking through those gates with my dad for the first time. I was about 10 and my dad took me to my first Bills game (just us 2 without my older brothers). The noise, the people, the sounds of guys selling programs and smell of stale beer. I was in awe and hooked for a lifetime. Thanks Dad!

I admit it's confusing to me why it's so hard to acknowledge that during the 2nd half of the season Diggs and Davis dragged the offense down. It's true that the wins the Bills had were close games and not the way fans would like to see and that is directly due to their impotence. Diggs and Davis were on the field the whole time during the 2nd half of the season AND did not contribute anywhere near the type of offensive output all those snaps should have resulted in. I look at it as they "handcuffed" Allen and the offense. I have no idea how the offense will fare this year with the WRs they will field but I'm pretty sure if some of these guys are playing down to the level the Diggs and Davis were playing, they will get a lot less snaps and the "next up" players will get more. I do hold out hope that at least 2 of these new WRs play well. That along with Shakir, Kincaid and Cook gives me a realistic scenario for a good year on offense. Once again, a lot will be determined by how good the OL can be.

Ray Davis--Community Involvement with Foster Care
ColoradoBills replied to Casey D's topic in The Stadium Wall
So you are of the belief that Ray Davis is only doing what he is does for "business"? That's a pretty cynical frame of thought. -
Anyone know if the Dolphins have even made an offer to him yet?

Minimum weekly salary for PS players is $12,500 a week for 18 weeks. That $225,000 per player. 16 PS players equal $3.6M for the season. It will be more because vets get $16,800 per week. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-practice-squad-salary-eligibility-rules-2023/vuvavtn3mbkq68spwkb5k8pz Edit: Added link.

He is going to need to catch TDs in the red zone and be a final dump off choice for Josh when scrambling. Knox has to produce when given the chance. If he doesn't.........................
-
It could very well be that Beane lets him, and his agent, test a trade before the start of next season. Bottom line, I think Knox will want to stay in Buffalo and he will take a pay cut for a small added guarantee. Less than this year. He has to stay healthy and find a role that gets decent production for that to happen. If not, he could be a June 1 cut or traded. This is going to be a very important year for him.
-
He is under contract through the 2028 season. This is only year 2 of his 6-year extension. The average would be signing his next after the 2026 season.

Rd 5, Pick 141: C Sedrick Van Pran-Granger
ColoradoBills replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
VPG cross-training to OG is wise. Although, he was drafted with the "hope" he is the Bills starting C for years to come. This season pertaining to @Sierra Foothillsreply about the "best 5" starting, I think it comes down to how well McGovern and Edwards at C/LG perform compared to VPG and McGovern. It could come down to McGovern not performing as well as Morse at C and Edwards not performing as well as McGovern, and that being less than a rookie at C with McGovern at his main position. It will be a point discussed during camp. -
Ray Ray Davis pick receiving praise
ColoradoBills replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm going to do something crazy and wait at least until training camp to see what Davis can bring and what his draft worth may or may not be. Crazy! -
Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
ColoradoBills replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's way of the world throughout history. If there was internet during Vespasian's rule in Rome, people would be tweeting that about the building of the Colosseum. My only point was the stadium, and a bridge will cost the same. -
Rd 2, Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida State

Seems pretty reasonable to me. -
Rd 5, Pick 141: C Sedrick Van Pran-Granger

I may have missed it, but I did not hear that McGovern desired to become the C. I took it that the Bills slotted him there. He didn't need a "chance" to be the 1st string LG. -

It will be a competition. I would even bet that Connor will be rooting for the kid to do well so he can go back to LG. I have to imagine Connor is a bit nervous about having to move to a position he has limited exposure to. It could affect his next contract (which ends next year) if he underperforms. -

McGovern (after I checked) has had about 100 snaps at Center. That's less than 2 full NFL games. I can't find any info on how well he did in those limited snaps. Having him move from LG to C is a question mark to begin with IMO. None of us even know how good will be there. The more I look at this, the more I think they will give VPG every chance to take the starting position.
