Firing Beane and McDermott right now would make the Bills the biggest laughingstock in the league. Both would have new jobs by next February.
-
His ranking covers 12 categories (he doesn't say what they are) that were compiled by a KC STC from 1980. Special Teams is still a mystery to most NFL fans. I for one would like more light on the subject. It probably is quite interesting.
-
I have never seen any ranking scenarios. There are 5 major components on STs. I have no idea how they "weigh" their importance.
-
Now that is FUNNY. I should have been clearer on that. NO ONE wants that comparison!

I see your point and do agree that "coaching" is part of the equation. I just don't see it as the ONLY part. Same when I hear comments during a GDT after penalties are called and comments are made that it's "all on the coaches". Are we all for "punishing" Josh for not sliding? It's a team sport and I believe it's requiring a team to succeed.

I find it hard to believe that no coaches have talked to these players on how to tackle. It's a fundamental part of football and these guys have been doing it since peewee. Players have to take the brunt of the responsibility on errors like this.

Spencer Brown Contract - Per Spotrac
ColoradoBills replied to kitchen sink's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's the fair contract from the Bills point of view that I believe Spencer and his agent understand. Lots of comments from fans saying he only had 1 good healthy season. Spencer betting on himself and OBD protecting their interests. I think it's a fair contract for both sides. -
Special Teams had another hiccup with the KO return Sunday. It seems to me this does happen to the Bills more often than it should. I get the feeling that at times the ST try to get a little cute in their play calling and it does bite them in the a$$ too often. I'd like them just to play the safer odds and avoid the negative plays.

Spencer Brown Contract - Per Spotrac
ColoradoBills replied to kitchen sink's topic in The Stadium Wall
At first, I was thinking he would sign for around $17M per and then I saw there was 3 other players all within $500K in the $17M's. They bumped it up a little more to get him into the top 10. In 2 years, my hope is Spencer keeps improving and the contract will look very good. -
Currently at $5M. It will depend on what they do with Von Miller. If he is cut early, it's another $15M if after June 1st it's another $6M.

Week 2 - Bills at Dolphins - Game Week Thread

If Ty Johnson can't go Gore will get called up. Really hope the Solomon can dress. If not, they have to use a 2nd call-up for a DE. -
Game management strategy & “The big miss”
ColoradoBills replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's the first real week of this new rule. In most cases with good weather and in domes it will be TBs. Bad weather will have some choices and techniques maybe not even known yet. Going to take some time for STCs and kickers to adapt. -
Was just going to say that. It's pay as you go. IF Spencer continues to improve it's a good contract for both sides. If he doesn't, they can get out without too much pain. The contract really makes Spencer work for his money. It's a couple million more than he's worth right now but if he improves a lot this season it saves the Bills $s in the future. The next RT that resets the market will be at $29M. Sewel is already at $28M.

I already deleted my post. I was thinking playoffs, not division. -

Not minimizing any other posters perceptions of the game, I will just say I am a bit impressed with Brady game planning a running heavy game against a very bad run defense team and sticking with it. In the end it was successful. It's something I feel Dorsey did not do at all. How he gameplans against Miami is going to be very interesting. If it's not successful it will be also interesting to see how he adjusts.

Is Josh being asked to do more than ever this year?
ColoradoBills replied to KentuckyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
With the D having the possibility of giving up more points per drive, it is all the more important to keep the drives down to a minimum. So, this hatred of "complimentary" football might be a little contradictory. I would love nothing more than seeing what we presume Brady's offense to be succeed. It's the best of all worlds. I am more than willing to see the Bills capitalize on 7-minute TD drives. Miami game will tell A LOT. It's only been 1 game. Let's see some more games as to what is happening and what is done in response. -

JFC. When Josh Allen calls his number, he is going to go all out. He has been this way since Day 1. Stop with nonsense. What do you want McDermott to do, bench him? LOL. -
