  1. He is under a rookie contract. It's suicide for a rookie to hold out the entire year. I don't see a trade either. He plays for the Bills and if Beane and Cook can't work out an extension by next spring he will be a FA.
  2. None. It's based on AAV. It's adding up the average salaries. Examples: Josh is $55M. Knox is the AAV of his contract $9.8M, not the cap hit which is $14.5M this year.
  3. Happy Birthday! Thank you for all you have done. Go Bills.
  4. He spent his entire rookie 4-year contract in Arizona. Went to the Jets and got injured. Now he is a FA. I don't think it's that bad.
  5. Pride goes before a fall.
  6. Well said! If anyone wants to keep an eye on this stuff Spotrac has all the data. Spotrac shows Bills are #7AAV. WR for Buffalo are #13AAV. This has data broke down to cash, cap and AAV. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/position/_/year/2025
  7. $10M over the cap is for all players. The Top 51 is at $662K. The Top 51 is all that matters right now.
  8. He has an injury history that is a bit concerning. Leki Fotu has a history of injuries, including a knee injury that landed him on injured reserve in late October 2024, a hamstring injury that caused him to miss the first five games of the regular season, and a broken hand that led to an IR placement in November 2023. Here's a more detailed breakdown of Fotu's injury history: 2024 Season: Hamstring Strain (Preseason): Missed the first five games of the regular season due to a hamstring injury. Knee Injury (Week 8): Placed on injured reserve with a knee injury on October 31, 2024. 2023 Season: Broken Hand (Week 12): Suffered a broken hand and was placed on injured reserve. 2022 Season: Shoulder Strain (Week 17): Missed one game with a shoulder strain. Shoulder Strain (Week 14): Missed one game with a shoulder strain
  9. They probably would want to check out his knee.
  10. I'll be expecting that draft night. 5th pick and the night will be over early. Get a good night sleep for Day 2.
  11. Bills don't have a 3rd and the Jags have 10 picks already including 2 3rds, 2 4ths and 2 6ths. Don't know if you have ever seen the Rich Hill Draft Trade Chart. You might want to take a look if you want to talk draft trades. https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart-Rich-Hill.asp?RequestTeam=jax
  12. LOL. I don't quite mean it that way.
  13. I agree with all you say. I would add, from my perspective the players could do some more to raise their stature too. There is some good talent on this team and a lot of players have shined for moments only to regress. Ed Oliver shows it at times but not nearly enough. McDermott has his family culture and that's great, but I think some of the coaches need to get these guys to bring a little more meanness to their game. A little more attitude. I'm thinking of Spencer Brown as an example. A little of Spencer Brown's attitude in Dalton Kincaid would do a lot for his game IMO.
  14. I would bet that Beane is hoping for Bosa to make a comeback, and he gets extended. Nobody likes dead cap money but if you want to play the game you have to pay. This year so far, the Bills have $29M in dead cap. It's right in the middle of the pack. I look at dead cap in 2 parts. One, it's the interest price of getting players today and paying tomorrow. The other is the cost of getting rid of players who have decreased in value. Typically, that is caused by injuries or old age. Tre White, Von Miller, Hyde and now Milano come to mind.
  15. They will start soon; I believe after June 1st. But for all the players like Bosa, technically they are on the team until the start of next year, then the money goes to dead cap. It's all part of the bookkeeping of the NFL.
  16. Half of that goes away if Bosa, McGovern and Ogunjobi are re-signed. The majority ($11M) of the remainder is Milano. You have to add up Milano and all the "red" players dead cap. It's accurate.
  17. Just to update my earlier post after the Ogunjobi and Shenault contracts, Beane has $662K in cap with Gilliam, Green, Johnson and Jackson left to subtract. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/_/year/2025/sort/cap_total_top51/dir/desc
  18. Yes, but I'm not sure when the "savings" show up. I'm assuming the savings come when he goes on suspension at the start of the year.
  19. Bills have 67 on roster so 23 more. Beane will probably draft at least 8 and add another 10 UDFAs minimum. Probably another 5 vets or so. There is always a big churn with the lower tiered players that cost nothing to switch out.
  20. Beane in his presser said he is tight against the cap, and I believe him. I do think he is waiting for a vet CB like @Simonsaid, but he will have to push a lot of that cap into next year if it is a costly player. After that I suspect it will only be a couple of vet minimum types until the draft. Spotrac added another $1.5M to Josh's cap hit in LTBE incentives and it shows $3.9M under with still 6 player's contracts to be added. He almost certainly has to restructure Dawkins and that will pretty much do it. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/_/year/2025/sort/cap_base/dir/desc
  21. Dawkins is about the only guy to restructure that makes sense. Knox, Jones, Samuel, Epenesa are the next in line and don't make sense.
  22. Yep. But I'm hoping he makes a full season and is in the running for "comeback player of the year".
  23. If Bosa plays well and re-signs that $7M in dead will go away and get absorbed in the new contract. Beane could have restructured a player but most of the eligible guys don't make a lot of sense right now.
