The cap situation along with the old age of so many high "dead money" players mean at least 2 years to clear the problem. It takes until 2027 to rid yourself of Carr (he is on a no-trade clause contract), all this makes the Saints pretty toxic option. Still there will be posters on this board bringing up the Saints as a proven "poster child" that the cap is not real.

Just a general comment. Any man who overly concerns himself over a rival football team's player, his girlfriend and/or his retired brother is just mind-boggling to me. I'm usually of the opinion if it was a break (or something really bad) we would have heard rumors about it already. The longer the silence the better IMO.

A real effort needs to be made to get him involved. I'm sure they have been trying earlier in the season but now it's a necessity.

HC McDermott had to make a split-second decision on sending Bass in. He doesn't have the chance to think about things like fans do in the aftermath of things. If Bass would have missed it, McDermott would have lived with it and regrouped to fight another day. A leader has to make the tough decisions. I'm glad it worked out for him and the team.
