  1. Talent is great when it works together. I'm sure Andy Reid would agree after the 2011 Eagles "Dream Team". I'm still waiting to see the final rosters of all the AFC Playoff caliber teams.
  2. Like I've said before us Bills fans need to thank our "Lucky Stars" for Beane/McDermott and the rest. This is as good a place as any to get a thing or two off my chest concerning the upcoming season. 1. What is it with the obsession of all thing Kansas City Chiefs? I understand they lost 2 games to them last year but it's becoming a mental condition this off season. The Chiefs were miles ahead of the Bills at the end of the 2019 season. That distance has been closed faster than I could of imagined! Now it's KC this and KC that. Bills need to trade everything for a TE. Bills got to get a Tyreek Hill 2.0. Beane needs to completely retool the entire DL. I don't want Beane and McDermott to think that way at all. They need to build the team in their own vision NOT some KC Chiefs 2.0 version. I want a team molded in the fashion of the Buffalo Bills and nobody else. 2. All this Brandon Beane has to go "ALL IN" before Josh Allen signs an extension talk is not what I want to see at all. I really appreciate Beane's commitment to build a perennial winner and not a flash in the pan team. McDermott and him have taken this team to a level I have never seen in all my years of fandom including the AFC Championship teams. I say let them do what they think is best for the present and the future. While opinions, comments and criticisms is a Buffalo Bills fans right I've got to say truthfully that not one fan could of done a better job as these guys have done so far. I for one am "ALL IN" in watching what they do next and hoping for a bigger and a better future. Thanks Brandon and Sean and all the others! Go Bills.
  3. No, both their other QBs have never thrown a pass in the NFL. If I was the Jets management I would beg Alex Smith to come to camp and then hold a clipboard for the 1st few games for some decent guaranteed money. I would go with Barkley or Hoyer at a minimum for a mentor.
  4. Especially when this player signs a vet minimum contract!
  5. Come on, don't you remember when Rex Ryan said the Bills D will now be "fully pregnant" once he had a chance to do his magic? The history of NYJ GMs/HCs are fun to laugh about. At least for now!
  6. LOL, I just seen that the 6th round pick this year wasn't even the Panthers pick #193 it was their comp pick at #222. Pretty much a 7th.
  7. That is what I thought and I remember talk about McDermott liking that. Another amateur's question. Does this type defense ever change the typical 4 DL alignment on passing downs? Could it be used in a more hybrid 3-4 type situation?
  8. Is this term "big nickel" meaning a defender that can cover a pass catching TE? If so I'm all for it.
  9. Yep they got plenty of picks to try and find a guy to get them "fully pregnant". Knowing the Jets though, they will probably selected a guy who has mono and a vasectomy!
  10. But,,,but...but the Bills got to find a player to take away catches from Diggs/Beasley and the rest! Come on, hear him out. I'm sure you can find a replacement at MLB in the later rounds.
  11. Well the vast majority of this board wanted Sam Darnold/Josh Rosen on that famous draft night after everyone knew Baker was CLE bound. Thank your lucky stars for Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott.
  12. I think you are totally right. They will ease Davis into the #2 role and Sanders will split time with him. He more than likely will have other matchup and substitution roles to get his targets up. I think the 4 WR sets are going to be very interesting!
  13. Tyreek Hill was a 5th round WR drafted before KC drafted Mahomes and they have one 2nd round pick since drafting Mahomes. Let's not rewrite the Chiefs history. Beane has set himself up pretty good for the draft so maybe he will pick a WR in the 1st. I'm just in the group who thinks that is a longshot.
  14. I am only a casual fan of college football and totally rely on knowledgeable posters as to who is worthy of a #30 pick. Actually the draft is originally why I started reading the boards in the first place! Having said that the best I can do is look at what Beane might be thinking when it comes to positions and that's why I say that CB along with the other 3 are my BPAs if a player deserving is available. One thing so far in FA that is a little strange is how the CB position has been skipped with the exception of Levi.
  15. I totally agree BUT for one moment let's look at the opposite of what you said for the sake of discussion. What positions drafted at #30 would have the highest chance of cracking the starter list? I don't know if Beane is thinking that way but if he was my list is pretty short. #2 CB #1 RB #1 TE Top 2 rotational Pass Rushing DE That is how I see it and it wouldn't surprise me at all if one of those 4 positions are selected at #30.
  16. I agree with this much from your reply. I can see that type of WR being drafted but not in the 1st or 2nd. We shall see in a few weeks what Beane is thinking.
  17. There is a boatload of vet FA WRs next year so I would not be worried about Sanders position next year. As for Beasley the only way he will be let go is if his play significantly drops off. With Josh Allen as QB there will always be WRs wanting to come to Buffalo. Beane last year used a 1st, 4th, 5th, 2-6th in 2020 and a 2021 4th on WRs. I don't see another WR taken this year until the 5th unless one of "their guys" drop in the 3rd.
  18. I agree, especially now that Watson is no doubt out as a trade possibility. Jimmy G will cost $23M this year which isn't all that much. NE would easily give a 2nd and 4th but if the 1st wanted from SF is firm I'm sure there will be a give back of a 3rd or so by them. I'm pretty sure Jimmy G will be a Pat. He ain't great but a lot better than Cam. I hope it all falls through and he stays in SF this year.
  19. I would add one thing. Everyone knows the DL and Bills front 7 needed to play better last season. That being said I think it's being a little overblown here lately. It's not like they were at the bottom of the league or anything. Beane and McDermott did their evaluation and have their plan. Like I keep saying let's wait to see what the team is in September.
  20. They gutted that horrible defense ranked 29th in the league because they allowed it to go bad after the 2017n season! 29. Kansas City Chiefs I’m not sure if anyone knows what to expect out of the Chiefs defense after it lost several significant players in the offseason. CB Kendall Fuller should be a fine replacement for Marcus Peters but he’s not going to be the playmaker the new Rams corner had been for Kansas City. OLB Dee Ford is coming off a major injury and has looked like it during preseason. Justin Houston is now a year older and has averaged just seven sacks a season since 2014. The linebacker group would be perfect if it were 1995 and the running game still mattered. DT Chris Jones is a blue-chip talent but the Chiefs are going to be asking a lot of him. Expect a lot of shootouts in Kansas City this season.
  21. Good grief, when an OC calls for a long ball (bomb for us old timers) generally a 40+ yard pass so many thing have to happen correctly for a completion that using only a QB completion rate is foolish. It's why it is inherently a low percentage pass because of that fact. The QB is just one part of that equation. There are QBs who are generally a little better than the norm over years on these limited attempted plays but even then a lot of other factors are needed for success. Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills Offense were NOT good at these passes his first 2 years in the league. That is a fact! Last year (it has already been confirmed by many sources) that the TEAM worked on this more and significantly improved on this low percentage play. I expect them to continue to work on it and there is a reasonable chance for continued improvement. Anyone wanting to argue with what I stated above?
  22. I'm of the belief that with all the FAs (many of whom will play for vet minimum with 0 or very low guarantees) available that it might be wise for Beane to sign a good amount of these players vs having a lot of UDFA come in after the draft.
  23. I remember that being discussed during the new CBA negotiations but I thought that wasn't agreed to. If anyone has the facts one way or the other it sure would be appreciated.
