  1. You are right. Chiefs are employing an interesting strategy that has worked well so far. If they can keep their 7-8 stars healthy and playing at elite levels they can absorb the risk, if they can't they open themselves up to what happen to them in the SB. Only time will tell how it works in the long run. Brown will want $20M per year so we'll see if he signs with the Chiefs or if he is just an expensive rental. It seems to me they are expecting the cap to go up more than many think.
  2. Definitely agree with you about CB. I truly will be a little shocked if one is not picked in the first 2 rounds. Lots of fans concerned about WRs leaving or getting old starting next year. I would like state that currently the Bills have 2 CBs signed next year (Tre and Dane Jackson).
  3. Cole Beasley is not a FA next year. He is under contract thru 2022.
  4. #1WRs cost a lot of money. The Bills have Diggs for that role. My point is that Beane could draft a WR in round 3-5. I see no NEED to draft one in the 1st or even the 2nd. We will see next week what will happen.
  5. I don't see the WR need either. It has become another "obsession" lately. I will make a few statements/facts about WR. 1. The highest drafted WR on the Bills is Sanders who was a 3rd rounder (Pick #82). This includes recently released Josh Brown (Pick #91). The Bills have a great WR room for the 2021 season and NONE are top picks in any draft. 2. Diggs cost a 1st+ BUT WRs have a long shelf life as compared to lets say RBs. It's not a bad idea to take at least 1-2 WRs in FA. 3. My most important statement: Is there anyone who seriously thinks that if the Bills find themselves next year needing a WR that the upcoming Free Agency would not be full of players wanting to come to Buffalo to catch balls thrown by Josh Allen? 4. The Bills had 8 plays (THAT IS 8 PLAYS) last year with a 5 WR set. Only 15% (not a small number) but only 15% with a 4 WR set. This "fantasy" that the Bills need 5-6 top line WRs is not based in reality. The Bills already have Diggs and to add to that Josh Allen has proven to spread the ball around like a HOF QB. I'm not saying drafting a WR is a bad move, I'm just saying I don't think it's an imperative need to in the first couple of rounds. IMO.
  6. My question is how do you do that on "draft night". If the Eagles make the trade how do the Bills ensure that Ertz renegotiates?
  7. I've talked myself in and out of this RB question multiple times already. I'm glad Beane is the one making the decisions because I can make an argument each way! Good Luck in the Draft Brandon!
  8. Thanks for the names of potential gunners! My other hope is that Haack does a better job with his placement and fair catches thus lessening the amount of returns. Bojo had a horrible fair catch to return ratio (6:16). Hack punted a lot more but had a 22:24 ratio.
  9. The thing about the Bills RBs last year was that only Moss and Singletary were dressing for games. IF Moss, Breida and Singletary could dress this year I think it brings some better diversity. The main reason for dressing only 2 is the Taiwan Jones ST's issue. I would love to see a replacement for him this year. I refuse to believe that a 33 year old gunner can't be replaced. He had 6 tackles and a dropped touchdown in stats last year. Heck Breida played some special teams and had 2 tackles last year. I hope Beane can find a ST Gunner at another depth position and free the Bills running backs to dress 3 on game day. If that doesn't happen there is a good chance that Devin doesn't dress every game and that is a shame.
  10. There could be a TE as BPA available in the draft in say the 5th round that could push Sweeney off the roster. He would probably end up taking Nate Becker's spot on the PS IF that happens. I'm rooting for Tommy to improve.
  11. The Saints at #28 may be interested in Bills 1st 5th rounder and 6th. It's one of the few UP moves I can see Beane doing if one of his guys are there. Saints are rebuilding and don't have a 5th rounder.
  12. I have a small hope that JAX would want another 1st round player and trade their 2nd round (#33) and their 2nd 4th round (Pick #130). It's an even trade in value and gives Beane his 4th round back. If Beane does trade back I hope its not lower than ATL at #35. That being said I think Beane stays at #30.
  13. Cole is on contract through the 2022 season.
  14. I can't remember the last time the Bills have gone into the draft with no gapping holes that demand filling. There is a good number of positions that could use upgrading and that makes it much closer to a BPA draft then I have ever seen. My hope is that the first 3 picks are hits no matter what the positions are and a hit with one of the 5ths would be huge. I hope the draft comes to you Mr. Beane and Good Luck!
  15. Yes, they did that for a QB. Giving up multiple 1st round picks for a non QB position is not a good move.
  16. Epenesa was being brought around slow. It is a playoff team and why would you throw a rookie into the fire if it wasn't needed? Starting with game 11 he started to get a lot more snaps. That is also during the time the D started playing better all around. I can't see how after the limited play of a rookie that anyone can put a definitive label on him.
  17. Does this tweet mean the Bills suck again?
  18. Beane would have to trade #30, #61 and #93 at a minimum to move up to #14. That's from both Draft Value charts. I for one would hate that gamble. As for a trade with the Vikings, they got 2-3rds, 4-4ths and 2-5ths right now. If anything I could see them using some of that to move up to get an impact player of their own.
  19. My "be patient" point was not about whether or not they pick up the 5th it was on how TE will play this year.
  20. Yes. I'll post my "broken record" comment here that I have been saying all year. The Bills worked on Josh Allen and the passing game almost exclusively last camp. It was also an "abridged" camp. It stands to reason that the running game suffered both offensively and defensively because of it. I am certain that it will be addressed both resource wise and training wise this summer. How much success will come of it can only be realized after the season starts.
  21. Yes, but even if the haul wouldn't be that great it's why picking up the 5th will most likely happen. Fans are looking at this whole Edmunds thing a little too myopically IMO. This coming season is an important one for TE and we just all have to be patient and wait to see what happens.
  22. OK Nostradamus why don't you edit your OP and give your prediction as to where the Bills D will be ranked in Points and Yards Against in 2021. It should be easy with an expert like you.
  23. The emotions of a tweener girl.
  24. True. I will say though the 5th year option can work both ways. In the case of Edmunds it can be thought of as one more year to come to a long term decision. Exercising the the 5th negates having to decide on the possibility of what you are calling a "bad contract". The way I see it the only risk is that Edmunds does not play to the $12.7M 5th year contract. So I guess that risk is what will Edmunds true 2022 worth be? If he gives you $7-8M in value the risk for another year of evaluation is not that great. IMO.
