  1. So if Trubisky didn't get many offers and he doesn't get many next year would Bills fan want him to sign a top backup contract to stay in Buffalo? That's probably around $5M per year.
  2. Oops. I happened to be in the thread when you posted and I "immediately" went to Spotrac to see. LOL. GMs would be spending like drunken sailors.
  3. The Spotrac 2026 cap estimates are $248M. It shows a rollover of $368M because there are no contracts signed to lower it. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/2026/
  4. I would think that most teams don't want to pay out too much cash in signing bonuses the first year. Only a handful of contracts are more than 5 years and for those (especially the high $ ones) there is other ways to give players guaranteed money. I've noticed signing bonuses are going down (in % of total contract) and Option and Roster Bonuses are going up.
  5. Zimmer epitomizes the hungry hard working guys that Beane and McDermott like to have around in camp and the PS. It seems to me that his chances lie in beating out Butler for a job. I don't care (and I think OBD feels the same way) if Butler took a cut in pay. It's about being able to help the team more than the other guy. Any way you cut it Butler will be gone after this year anyway.
  6. Ahh Biloxi, Mississippi. I was down there for tech school from May until August. Of course that was back when planes had propellers LOL. It was quite the shock for a poor boy from Cheektowaga.
  7. With a decent performance this year I suspect the Spotrac prediction of 6 year at $14M is probably pretty spot on. The first couple of years would be in the $12M category and IF the guaranteed money wasn't too steep I can see that happening. If Beane and the Bills don't want to sign him for that some other team probably will. They went 6 years due to his young age and would be 30 years old at the end of the contract. If Edmunds did a "Milano" type deal which was a bit team friendly I would cut off $1M per. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/tremaine-edmunds-25111/market-value/
  8. For the series that Allen and the starters are in for I would key on the running game, some swing passes and maybe a few quick TE passes. Keep the long developing plays to the WRs to an absolute minimum if at all.
  9. Yes, they actually thought McCarron could play at least a half season and were wrong. Jets went into the draft with no QBs at all. Bills were lucky that Josh handled it pretty well. We will see how Wilson does.
  10. The Jets went into this with Zach Wilson penciled in as the starter. He is struggling so they signed Josh Johnson a couple of days ago. It's going to be interesting to see how the summer progresses. My guess even if Wilson isn't ready they throw him to the lions.
  11. IMO you won't see an Edmunds deal until after 2022 season. What the Bills will be offering I have no idea.
  12. The only QB in camp for the Jets that has thrown an NFL pass is Josh Johnson. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JohnJo05.htm
  13. My favorite Steeler.
  14. The contract is set up perfectly to move salary money into restructured money in 2025 and 2026. If Josh is still tearing it up it will give him some guaranteed money in his final 2 years which are only $40M per. I'm laughing while typing "only $40M" but in 2028 bridge QBs will be making 30-35 million.
  15. This RB competition is heating up. From all the reports I've read here about Williams it could get interesting. I'm expecting him to take a lot of snaps in preseason. If he doesn't make the team (which right now seems likely) I sure hope he slips to the PS. I hope that because next year could be his time to make the team outright. He's my longshot player.
  16. Yep. I looked at the 2022 FA list and his name jumped out as the guy I wouldn't want to go test the market. Contracts are not redone a lot during a season but his might be an exception if he starts out hot.
  17. Using the $43M average Josh will make $35,000.00 per snap of the football every year of his new contract. That's 1,229 snaps for a full 17 game season and playoff games. Great pay is you can get the work!
  18. I guess it's all opinion but I think McKenzie would of jumped on a 3 year $8M contract.
  19. I get a feeling that we will regret not having McKenzie and Obada on 3 year cheap contracts. They are going to cost a lot more next year to keep. Diggs will get his extension after next season when they also know what is happening with Edmunds.
  20. Super pissed. I predicted 6 years at $42M per. Came in at 6 years $43M. Beane got raped!
  21. Thanks @Billl for the personal recognition. I was pretty close.
  22. I totally agree. It looks like Josh and his agent let Beane work things best for the team. Also gives Beane time to see what that 2023 Cap numbers will be and adjust accordingly.
  23. I just seen that. It's over 5 years. I already edited my post. That savings you are mentioning is what I was trying to figure out. That's a perfect deal!
