What is even worse IMO is a little understanding. That is most of us. I have to keep reminding myself of that. One thing I have found fascinating is watching the Mannings and Belichick on ESPN2 MNF. Listening to BB DURING a football game is so much more interesting than listening to "pundits" after the game. When BB talks about the defensive schemes it shows how much offensive knowledge he has to have. It makes me chuckle a bit about some saying McDermott doesn't know offenses because he's a defensive coach. The constant cat-and-mouse game that goes on is only surpassed by how fast the adjustments have to continuously be made. Then again, after all this "pre-snap" coaching is done, the players have to execute, adjust and outperform to make a play work on offense or defense. Some hate the phrase, but it's true, "it's hard to win in this league". Football is fun!

Terrel Bernard Defensive Player of the Week!
ColoradoBills replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was just going to bring this up. I had no idea when he was drafted if he was any good (not a big college fan) but DAMN there was a lot of hate from the posters. -
Milano's window ends after the 49ers game. I don't expect him to be activated before that time. There are limited practices in the bye week, and I suspect OBD sees no need to rush him back. If he is activated for the 49ers, I don't expect him to play with the exception of injuries. Once he's activated, I don't expect him to start against the Rams but with any luck he can take snaps later in the game. My hope is he can play a decent amount against the Lions (especially in passing downs). The issue of the field should not affect him as his injuries were not of the knee/hamstring/Achilles types. His broken leg is fully healed, and a pec injury is not a "field" worry. After that, the final 3 NE/NYJ/NE games give him all the time he needs to get to 100%.

Reid Ferguson has been the long snapper for the Bills since 2016. I'm not using snaps as an excuse for Bass's kicking issues BUT I have noticed that a large number of his snaps have been high and inside. Might be time for some camp competition next summer for both the kicker and long snapper.

Thanks @KCNCfor turning us on to this podcast! Love the beard!

Douglas couldn't develop Sam Darnold, drafted Zach Wilson and traded for Aaron Rodgers. Jets organization is a mess, but would anyone trust him to pick the next QB?

All kinds of scenarios left. Any "predictions" are mere guesses. Bills have a bye week to get healthier. Then they play the SF49ers at home. As Josh says, need to go 1-0 in that game.

It's a good question. It does affect the pick. How much I haven't a clue. https://russellstreetreport.com/salarycap/nfl-glossary/#:~:text=That sets the round in,games missed due to injury). Comp Picks are awarded at the ends of rounds 3 through 7. The formula for determining the value of those picks is somewhat of a mystery as only some parameters are contained in the league’s CBA, but it appears that the main criteria is the average yearly salary of the contract the UFA signed with his new team. That sets the round in which the Comp Pick is initially awarded. From there, the pick can go up or down a round based on performance, measured by post season awards or lack of playing time (including games missed due to injury).

Musical Edits to Josh's "Play of the Year"
ColoradoBills replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
The song ends up with him not letting both of them "take control" of his life with their actions. He opens his eyes about the reality of the girl, and he moves on. Dodging that dysfunctional relationship, he now looks at the "Mr. Brightside" of life. -
Peyton, Eli and BB made the game interesting with their discussions. Jim Gaffigan is replacing BB for the 3rd quarter. Should be funny.

The least he can do for $60M per year.

Cowboys must suffer.

Mmmmmm, juicyfruit.

I can't say how much dissecting the thread would help, but there are some GDT posters who could use some electroshock therapy.

Nicely done.

I was looking at that today when the re-sign player thread came up. I don't think it will be Post June 1st. It would be $17.5M but Beane can't spend it until June. I think he's cut in March and frees up $8.4M and off the books with no dead cap in 2026.

11/17/24 Game 11 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Chiefs post game Thread
ColoradoBills replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
For sure the interception was because Knox stopped. I did notice during the replay that Knox was cut off and couldn't get around the defender. It was just one of those things that happens in football. -
Benford, Bernard & Shakir…re-sign all of them?
ColoradoBills replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. What I meant is when Josh signed that longer than normal contract it pushed out his next one the corresponding number of years. He extends during 2026 or in the beginning of 2027 IMO. Won't cost big money until 2028. That helps Beane a lot in my book. -

Groot gets signed. My comments on the DL were explained above. I just don't know what moves still need to be made. Diggs dead savings is already spent. After the expected cap increase Beane has $10M in cap plus $8M more after cutting Miller. He still is tight to the cap with only 40 signed in 2025. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/_/year/2025/sort/cap_total Allen is honoring his contract. He is not going to force Beane in renegotiations IMO. -
Can we talk about Beane and Oline?
ColoradoBills replied to No_Matter_What's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great post explaining how this OL got to where it is. Currently no need to invest more but keep looking for some more of these late 3rd day picks and UDFAs. It just may get Beane in a position to trade a depth guy away for a mid-rounder. -

I see a 1st or 2nd round on DL. Not sure the future with Jones. He seems to be dropping off fast. I don't say it's a problem, just not as clear cut as most other positions. Groot probably is signed long term in the off season.
