  1. Yes. GMs have to trust they re-sign guys that want to bring it after their payday.
  2. It's smart GM'ing to do this now. It puts everything back in their court. The only thing they can do now is B word about being traded and I doubt very much they do that.
  3. It will be interesting to see if he can still do that herkie jerky stuff to get open with his knee.
  4. Great catch. I read that and didn't put 2 and 2 together. They are stuck with him as they should be. Only a desperate GM would even entertain this trade.
  5. I don't think anyone does. LOL. He could be a weenie. Agree about Beane and I didn't take it badly from you.
  6. Brandon Beane doesn't seem worried about it. Can you answer my question? Cook is the one to suffer in a hold out. Not the Buffalo Bills.
  7. When was the last time a rookie GOING INTO his 4th year actually held out any games? I can't remember the last one. He is not on his 5th year option and he is not on a tag. This doesn't happen.
  8. No it's not. It's right in his contract in Spotrac. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/47619/brandon-aiyuk
  9. Yes, for $39M in dead cap. If they wait it's $62M. They just signed the guy, and they want out of the contract! What does that tell you?
  10. Aiyuk is only starting his 1st year of his 4-year contract and the 49ers want out already. Can anyone say red flag? Even with his current contract on the books SF has $40M in cap space and they still want to unload him. Don't do it.
  11. Totally agree. It was being used for that by some team's years ago, but not anymore. IF the tag was used on Cook, then I agree it would mean they are really close on a deal. Beane won't use it if they are way apart. He will let Cook walk. IMO.
  12. Terry pays Damar Hamlin more than what his share is for Goodell.
  13. Beane along with a lot of Bills players' agents understand that stability on a team that the player fits into well is worth more money in the long run than chasing a few extra bucks in free agency. Taron Johnson is on his 3rd contract. Same with Dawkins. Players can chase some extra money but there is no guarantee they fit into a new team's scheme. There is much more risk that a player may not even finish his contract with that team. They get traded or have to take on "prove it" contracts. It's smart to stick with your drafting team especially when you fit in well.
  14. I've said IF Beane wants to go with a big RB contract it won't be more than $12.5M AAV. That puts Cook at 4 on the RB list. 3 is Taylor at $14M and I don't think Beane is going anywhere near that. So, 4 years $50M is tops IMO IF Beane really wants to keep him.
  15. He hasn't. Players hate the tag and Beane knows it. The locker room knows Beane is a straight shooter on contracts. Cook signs for Market value or he moves on next year IMO.
  16. I was just looking at that. Christain is scheduled for $3.3M this year. New contract salary at vet minimum and with signing bonus/workout bonus I'm thinking it will pretty much be a wash.
  17. At $19M even it would be 6.80%.
  18. Congratulations to Christian and Brandon for doing a great deal for both parties. Looks like all the hand wringing about this contract was premature. With all these extensions coming in at or less than most "market values" it does put some pressure on Cook. James and his agent should sign for market and guarantee Cook's financial future and not worry about ego. Does make you wonder about the draft and what Beane will do if Cook doesn't sign before.
  19. I can see that especially since he didn't re-sign this spring. We should keep an eye on camp and preseason as to the centers and how they rank.
  20. Lots of concern about not having a WR1. I for one can live without one but it means that Brady has to keep scheming correctly using what in essence can be 3 number 2s. I have some faith that Brady is still learning and can get more out of the passing game with the WRs, TEs and RBs.
  21. I wonder is their fan message board is screaming to trade him. LOL.
  22. I was replying to Gunner's comment. All I said is the new staff may have overlooked him compared to their top 2 high draft picks WRs. Gunner was commenting on how bad Q. Johnston has been and that it reflected on Palmer. I said they are keeping QJ so what does that say about their evaluations. None of this matters to me until I see how Palmer fits in with Josh this year.
