  1. So glad the Titan/Bengal game is played first. If the Bengals win it makes to Bills/Chiefs game even BIGGER.
  2. I could see a scenario where with a good bend but don't break defensive gameplan the Bills could hold them to 27-31 points.
  3. I have been keeping an eye on the Chiefs situation and will be interested in how they handle the off season. Lots of FAs and a lot of their contract restructures comes to a head again next year with only $22M currently in cap. Top 4 cap hits. Bills biggest cap hit is Diggs at $18M. Mahomes: $36M Chris Jones: $30M Frank Clark: $26M Tyreek Hill: $20M (last year of his contract). https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/cap/ https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/kansas-city-chiefs/
  4. Yes, and that's why there are not too many older players on the team this year. Last year Beane shed these over 30 players: Ty Nsekhe, Lee Smith, Andre Roberts, John Brown and Trent Murphy. Many of these players gone have been brought up by fans as "bad moves" during the season but they all were no longer seen as needed by the Bills "going forward".
  5. Zero. He has been groomed by McDermott to take the Buffalo Bills OC spot. Why would he pick Tua over Josh?
  6. I agree but I think BB will. If he keeps coaching he is not going to go through a proper rebuild. He is going to try to do a quick patch. Does anyone think that when BB does retire he is going to concern himself with the Pats* future cap and draft picks? His only choice right now to stay relevant IMO is to go all in.
  7. While I know you mean players it could be worth mentioning that there is a possibility that the Bills will need to replace Schoen, Daboll and Frazier. If that happens it will be critical that Beane and McDermott get the right replacements.
  8. I agree. One thing that I have to add is how well Beane and McDermott seem to work together. I know they have a plan they are following and that will mean that McDermott will at times have to live with "what he's got" and scheme around it. I sure hope it can continue and all I can say about the team of Brandon and Sean is, "The whole is greater than the sum of the parts".
  9. The same question could be asked about the KC Chiefs and other recent top teams. Fans like to use a few reasons that I will cite for the "window" and its length. 1. Window is determined on QB salary: Paying a QB (which starts for KC next and the Bills in 2023) puts cap limits in play but I believe not as much as some fans think. It takes away 1 big money impact player at the peak of his salary. That is not a crippling situation. It is constantly brought up that a QB salary at times is a bargain a few years after a big contract is signed. Allen signing for 6 years is great as long as his play stays elite. 2. Current star players aging: It's a constant issue for every team regardless of records. Having a long-term plan which identifies these players and having replacements in mind (especially on the team in a depth position) is paramount. Smart FA and drafting of course is the key to this. Staggering your high priced players and rookie contracts ease's the transitions. 3. High dollar FAs: It seems to me the most controversial issue argued about. Reason being the window will not remain open for long so grab as many FAs now (and worry about the consequences later) to run for a Super Bowl. I imagine this FA period there will be dozens of threads arguing the pros and cons of each player talked about. IMO it is one of the most misused choices made by GMs/HCs. Signing high dollar FAs that don't perform can slam that window faster than anything but signing the ones that excel is a game changer. Beane and McDermott have said over and over they want a long run with the Bills. Having Josh Allen makes that all possible. Beane will have to resist going after too many impact FAs and will have to follow a long-term plan and hope it works more years than not. Using the "window" analogy I'm expecting Beane to attempt to keep his window as open as possible in any given year without creating a situation that slams the window shut in the future. It's an extremely hard thing to do but I am very interested to watch him attempt to do it! I try to keep all this in mind after every one of Beane's moves!
  10. It seems to me that a GM (General Manager) job responsibilities are a lot more than being a player evaluator. While that is important, especially in major player positions like QB, building a management team under him is more important.
  11. Murray's first playoff game is pretty pretty not good. I looked up some stats and was a little shocked his overall record is below .500. Next year is going to be a crossroad for him. In other news it looks like Detroit was Stafford's problem.
  12. Most likely it will be a pretty close game. If that happens it will come down to a few plays where any of the men on the field can make the difference in the 4th quarter. When that table is set all the past games won't add up to a hill of beans. After the game, the winning team will get too much praise and the losing team too much criticism.
  13. Oh no. They will start showing up tomorrow and get rolling by Friday.
  14. Damn I forgot. Thanks for posting in the wrong forum @Bangarang!
  15. I've said this a few times myself. Bobby Johnson and the Run and Pass Coordinators and Daboll are the guys deciding that. Of course they can be overruled by McDermott.
  16. I think it's great they are letting the coaches and players have all the limelight.
  17. I can't believe I never seen this clip before. A lot said every day about stats and schemes but a whole lot of football depends on the things you can't measure. Go Bills!
  18. Great replies you guys. I don't need to add a thing.
  19. It's going to be one for the books. No one will reliably know what will happen. Both teams can win it going away or it could go down to the last snap. Go Bills!
  20. We all will know the result of the Titan/Bengals game too!
  21. OK so the Bills and Chiefs will know the winner either goes to Nashville or has the AFCCG at home. Perfect.
