  1. I agree with you.
  2. What a rookie HC with Tyrod Taylor as QB on a team that hadn't made the playoffs in 17 years compared to this upcoming situation cannot be any farther apart. IMO.
  3. It would be my hope. While I do believe Dorsey could become a top OC his coaching experience revolves 100% around the Bills and Panthers. I guess he deserves the chance if he takes it but some new blood with new ideas may not be a bad thing.
  4. It will interesting for me to see how Josh Allen's maturity into a top franchise QB will be affected by the new OC. Will Josh get a little more input than he may of had with Daboll? Will the new OC have something new to teach Josh in reading defenses? How much could Josh influence the new OC with plays he liked working with Daboll? It seems to me an overall positive effect could be accomplished with the right hire but only time will tell. Josh now doubt will go through a number of OCs in his career with the Bills.
  5. Tearing it all down is engrained in a lot of fans minds.
  6. It is a challenge and we don't know what Beane will do. Last year KC went on a huge restructuring run. Maybe Beane will do some of that.
  7. I can see how the board will be commenting through the off season with this one thread. I will just ask one question. The Bills DL personnel as of now. DT: Star Ed Oliver Phillips - UFA who needs to be signed (I guess that encompasses work by Beane) DE: Rousseau Epenesa Basham Bryant Love Beane says he has to do some work on the DL and posters say, "why"? It's pretty obvious that he does. Imagine what the above roster looks like without last year's DL picks? KC is #1 in the NFL in 2022 on DL cap spending. FWIW If Star retires or is cut the Bills will be about the lowest.
  8. Since they don't put the points up next to your Avatar anymore, I guess it doesn't matter. LOL.
  9. If Beane gets Wallace signed I can agree with that. If not a CB has to be in there.
  10. The highlighted from Stosh is my answer. Gabe has been a #4 WR for 2 years with over 1,100 yards receiving and 13 TDs. In his limited role he has performed way better than expected and I do believe his best is yet to come. Penciling him in as a #2 is OK with me and he has hopes to be more than that. FTR he only took 51% of the snaps this year.
  11. I swear I couldn't agree with your 3 points quoted more. Please copy this and re-post every time it's needed, and I will "like" it every time.
  12. All true but it's also true that there is no "big hole" at WR. I can see Beane being open to a 1st round going in a lot of positions.
  13. This is what I tried to say in my OP. The Spotrac starting point I cited is after the cap increase and after all the players whose contracts have expired. So many of these cap space threads have replies that are not capturing the facts. We (and others) are on the same page.
  14. OK now we get to my original point. I disagree that Gabriel Davis is a JAG. IMO he is a stud and could in every way be another Diggs (who was selected a round later than Davis).
  15. I couldn't agree more. Beane is looking out for the future and will do whatever he can to improve next year too. I will be watching to see if some of the players he lets go to open up cap for re-signing of our own can be traded. Every little bit going forward will help. One of those late 3rd day guys could be a hit 2 years from now.
  16. The current Spotrac $'s I cited is after the Futures contract. Technically every vet that is signed from now on with have to displace a lower player's cap hit. Thus, resulting in a little less than his contract calls for. I merely used today's numbers to start the season's discussion.
  17. I agree and also think Klien stays next year. I'm going to speculate that Klien restructures by giving up some salary in return for more guaranteed money. I think he will do that and I think Beane will ask for it.
  18. I know all the internal numbers of his contract. The fact remains his extension starts next year and all the change in cap hits for this coming year is on what is his 5th year option. In other words, Beane used the new contract to lower Allen's cap hit this year. A year that he needs more cap to make a push. Josh Allen is playing this year under his 5th year option. He played 4 years under his original rookie contract, 1 year under his 5th and another 6 years starting in 2023 regardless of what the actual cap hit reflect.
  19. What in the Sam Hill does my comment about a huge hit in the 4th round have anything to do about this year's 1st round pick? I won't take the bait so you can continue on with your opinions.
  20. I welcome all the new members. I just ask they take heart to Mr. Vargas's plea in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Mr. Vargas : [before he and his class enter the operating room] I just want to ask you one last time. Please conduct yourselves with the utmost maturity. [the class files in, but pulls Spicoli aside] Mr. Vargas : Hey, you in my class? Jeff Spicoli : I am today.
  21. I couldn't agree more. I just mentioned in the Gabe Davis thread about him on GMFB that he was a A+ pick as a 4th rounder. I guess my point is, hoping to improve by big free agents is not the way I see Beane going. The draft will be the hope of the future. I'm not saying Beane will not get a guy in FA he feels he needs to target it's just dumping the old guys for a new bunch of new FAs is probably not going to happen.
  22. Drafting Gabe was an extremely big hit for Beane and his team. I hope like hell that they find another Day 3 WR in this year's draft!
  23. I agree with a lot of your points but this 2023 big cap raise will be totally eaten up by Josh's raise. All things being equal Josh has a $23.4M cap jump in 2023.
  24. The Chiefs will keep their big star players for next season but they got a tough off season in front of them. They got a lot of UFAs especially after doing a lot of restructures and signing a lot of one year contracts on the cheap. Comparing overall talent IMO will have to wait IMO until we see what kind of team they field next year.
  25. I don't see much if any. Josh is under his 5th year option this year. His big hits don't start until 2023. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/josh-allen-25102/
