Brian Flores suing NFL, NY Giants, Dolphins, Broncos.
ColoradoBills replied to BillsFan4's topic in The Stadium Wall
As to Flores case on discrimination I will wait for all the "evidence" to come out or the settlement to end before I make a decision. I will be like a juror on that. As to the Pay to Tank stuff it is not a good look for the league. Investigative reporters are going to be all over this. It could open up a lot of bad things. Suspecting something is one thing having it confirmed is another. If owners pay coaches to lose what is Goodell going to say about it? Will he say he wasn't aware of it and condemn it. If he does then owners will have to be thrown out of the "club", but they control Goodell. What about players who have incentives in their contracts that may not have been achieved because of willful losing? It may well bring the lottery into football. I have loved NFL football my whole life and I'm sad that this is happening. I want my football with sportsmanship and not the WWF. -
I haven't been part of the 13 second bitching committee. It was bad and it happened and I hope it doesn't happen again. As to tackling I don't think they are bad at it. I agree with @K-9 and his points. As Bills fans we all want offensive players who can break tackles, so every time they do I guess you can say the other teams are bad at tackling. I also think Poyer and Hyde would disagree with your point.

It's going to be a long offseason.

Wow, my first reaction on reading the OP and some posts was "Why are people looking for things to get upset about". After reading the rest of the replies (and comments in other threads) I'm seeing a small group of posters who truly hate the Bills HC and thus will believe anything negative about him. I myself have had some frustrating moments with the big brass in OBD but the calls for burning this whole thing down and starting over is truly mindboggling. It was suggested that threads like this a lowering the IQ of the board and that is maybe true but I'm starting to see Q's emerging. Who is the TBD Q? Inquiring minds want to know! FilthyBeast is already on my "ignore" list. I hate to say he may have some company soon.

So you're saying a bunch of Lombardi's?

I like that McKenzie is excited. One more hint he signs a 3 year contract with the Bills soon. That is so true. That old cliche needs to be update to "Terry spends like a drunken sailor"! Well that is something you will have to deal with. I'm fairly sure that Ken Dorsey has been working on his own putting schemes and plays together for the team for the last couple of years. Daboll took everything into consideration (which was a good thing). If players could bring plays to Daboll I'm sure the "Passing Coordinator" had a significant input. If your meaning is a concern about what play will Dorsey call on a 3rd and 4 on the opposing 44 yard line we will all have to see what happens there. In some ways a "stranger" would have to learn Josh Allen's skills and Ken Dorsey has been through all the learning curve with Allen. No one can say with certainty how Dorsey will perform, and he will have a learning curve himself, but I see no reason to panic.

I would imagine a collaboration with McDermott in the lead for the OL coach and Dorsey having a bigger say in his QB coach.
-
Congrats Ken. It's a good deal that things won't drastically change going into 2022. Daboll was great for the team but if I had to criticize him it was the way he strung play calls together. At times it seemed to hampered momentum. Here's hoping that Ken Dorsey has seen that sitting in the wings and can be an improvement.

Josh Allen should change his jersey number

Wasn't Dustmop doing it with Cecily Fripple? Superman reruns were a staple. One thing about Superman I never understood. Superman would stand with his hands on his hips while bullets bounced off his chest but then he would duck when the bad guy threw his gun.

Well this thread has turned in a poor direction. Art Rooney and the owners of the NFL teams established this policy. We don't get to vote on it. If people want a vote, buy a team. On that note I'll retire to watch Jeopardy.

OL coach Bobby Johnson headed to NY, has signed contract
ColoradoBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
The thing is we don't know what was/is going on. Johnson may have been on the way out and Daboll grabbed him to bring some consistency in building a staff. Got to give it time and maybe stuff will come out. -

True but he was an assistant OL coach. Johnson and Daboll were making the calls for OL. -

FWIW some interesting comments from Scarnecchia about Wendell taking over the Center spot in NE. https://www.espn.com/blog/boston/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4733551/wendell-impresses-in-starter-role excerpt: Wendell's performance drew the praise of his position coach, Dante Scarnecchia, who was asked if Wendell has done an excellent job of stepping in to replace Koppen. "I think he has. Clearly the obvious is that he replaced a very, very good football player and a very popular football player," Scarnecchia said. "That's as tough of a decision as we've ever had around here for those reasons. "But we also knew that this is a young guy that has played very well when we've asked him to play and he's done a very good job through the first eight games of the season, and he's all the things we thought he would be," he continued. "He's very tough, very smart, and a really competitive guy on every down, through every down. He's a great finisher and that's why he's here, and that's why we kept him as a rookie and kept him around here and that's why this kid is on our roster, and that's why he's starting for us, all those reasons." -

But it wasn't until this year that Sean actually called out the OL in a presser. It seems he didn't deliver to the degree they wanted. -

All those years snapping a ball for Tommy and calling blocking schemes too. He definitely has to have the smarts to know what Scar was wanting to do. -

I wonder if Ryan Wendell gets promoted? He had all those years under Scarnecchia when he played in NE. -
So has the defensive line "rotation" thing been exposed as nonsense?
ColoradoBills replied to Jim's topic in The Stadium Wall
I expect to see a lot of rotation next year but with the old guys gone I don't see 10 D Lineman on the starting 53. -
I will admit I wanted Beane to go for Hendrickson last year. But let's all remember that he was one of many New Orleans Saints players that had to be given up by them because they went crazy with restructures and expensive FA signings. I'm always hoping for an impact player in FA but it has to be done wisely and selectively.

Well as things stand now Josh Allen and the O have used Daboll's playbook pretty successfully. The PLAYBOOK is still in Buffalo. It seems to me for 2022 what is needed is someone who can expound on Daboll's plays and bring in a new twist. A good OC seems more about stringing and disguising the correct plays together that are already in the book. I'm not sure a well established former OC would do that. Do the Bills really want to tear down Josh Allen and the O for a completely new system? As to the specific person I'm going to leave that to OBD.

Bills interviewing Raiders WR coach Edgar Bennett for OC
ColoradoBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
That might be a realistic point. Generally, I don't get why this board is going crazy. Let OBD do their job and wait to see what happens. Probably too much to ask. Nobody knows what's going on behind closed doors. -

I just commented above on the Bates situation too. -

I believe that McDermott assigns a lot of responsibility on position coaches. I have questioned this before when posters kept saying McDermott was wrong for not playing Bates. IF it was finally Sean that got Bates playing over Bobby recommendations then maybe a change is in order. We just don't see the inner dynamics so all of the "takes" are speculation. -
