  1. There does seems to some evidence that they can pick out CB talent very well. If that is the case, you make a great point.
  2. Could very well be true RP.
  3. With the cap getting lowered due to Covid it seems a lot of FAs were underpaid last year. While I have just started comparing last year to this year it seems to me that there is limited amount of money chasing a lot of FAs again this year. I'm hoping Beane can find some good players for a reasonable cost.
  4. While a good argument could be made that $9M is too high it just shows that generally speaking FAs are often overpaid. While there are exceptions to every rule the age old view of building through the draft and use FAs to plug holes with a select small number of high dollar FAs seems to be true. Well, true to me IMO.
  5. I guess for me I do care. I care about the quality of all QBs in the AFCE. Not obsession but I will for some time now and in the future want to especially see NE have issues at QB. I think a better term is "revenge". Josh Allen is a Bills fan's revenge for all those Tom Brady years. So now that it seems the shoe is on the other foot I will take every win the Bills can hand the Patriots with more pleasure than most other teams. See the "term" I used above.
  6. There was a little Mom and Pop takeout pizzeria in South Cheektowaga on William St called "Bon-Eds". Hands down the best I ever had. Went out of business 25 years or so ago and everyone wishes the recipe was passed down to someone else. Truly a lost treasure.
  7. Bates is a RFA. Bills own his rights. I'm betting on a 2nd round tender.
  8. I can see all these guys potentially being cap casualties. A couple of these guys may be asked first to take a pay cut. Beane got 3 players to take pay cuts last year and I think he goes for that again. Williams was signed as a RT and has been "demoted" (at least for salary wise) to RG. I can see him taking a $1M to $2M cut. If Star was cut it's only $1.5M cap savings but if he decides to retire and the Bills let him keep his signing bonus but then he gives up another $2.5M in 2022 guaranteed salary of dead cap. A result of $4.0M in cap savings and not having him on the 2023 roster I think is worth it. Beane also will do some modest restructures.
  9. If Beane and McDermott trade him I guess I would be shocked. I do see you point though. No. His previous signing bonus and guaranteed salary could be reclaimed. What could happen (and has happened) is a player on the "retirement" fence comes to an agreement with the team. The result is the player keeps some of the bonus/guaranteed money and the team recaptures the rest.
  10. I'm not one wanting to trade him either. I was just giving the new rules on 5th year option players.
  11. The new rule is the 5th year option is fully guaranteed. But that guarantee moves if traded.
  12. The worse 5 team sacks all were over 50. Young guy and being around the Washington RedFoot Commanders OLs back in 2018-2019 helps. Too tease some Bills fans he sure would know Brandon Scherff. LOL.
  13. Hoping it's just some contract details that need to be worked out.
  14. Yes it is. My hope is Star wants to retire and they come up with a settlement to entice him to do that.
  15. LOL yes, like the swallows returning to Capistrano. Also, it's time for a call to Beane to restructure every high dollar contract! Beane restructured 3 contracts last year (Diggs, White and Poyer) which was out of character and did free up $17M. He also asked for 3 players (Addison, Butler and Morse) to take pay cuts to the tune of $7M. I see a lot of work Beane and his minions need to do but history shows me there will be a lot of pissed off fans on this board during FA. Here are some facts if anyone wants to see Beane's restructures. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/transactions/buffalo-bills/restructure/
  16. I would start with GunnerBill's examples. Gunner uses the term "big slot" which I think is a better description than the sometime used "big WR". If these guys are never (or rarely) lined up tight to the OL then I can't see how they are true TEs. IMO.
  17. Yeppers. I guess this is as good as any place to congratulate Devin Singletary and Dawson Knox on their bumps in pay in accordance with the NFL Proven Performance Bonus escalators. They both got over $1M in 2022 raises! OTC has great details on the program. https://overthecap.com/proven-performance-escalator/
  18. Thanks Gunner for trying to show people that you can't compare TEs all in one group. I tried bringing this up last year and got laughed at. I'll use your term "Big Slot" guys. I don't really count them against "ranking" a true TEs production. All it does is skews the data.
  19. The Bills are currently over the cap -$1.3M. They can push some money out to next year BUT Josh Allen's cap hit goes up $24M to $39M next season.
  20. I would look into Jacoby Brissett. It seems his dream of being a starter is over and his best future is a long term backup. With the QB staff the Bills now have I think his game could improve. He played for the Dolphins at $5M last year but probably now can be had for a lot less than that. If he performs well as a backup and being only 30 next year he could be around for a while.
  21. So with the Joe Brady signing back to an OL coach and an Assistant GM to sign.
  22. Take out any "racist" reasoning (which was not my first intent) that guy did well in his job with not a lot to work with. I guess an argument can be made about the NFL going through Head Coaches a little too fast. I may have it wrong but it seems to me that the HC turnover rate is much higher lately than in the past.
  23. This gif of the IT Crowd never gets old!
  24. One could also bring David Culley into this. IMO he got shafted but for different reasons. It is sad.
  25. While I surely don't believe in any league wide conspiracies this whole tanking thing does put a stain on the NFL. I don't like it and wish it didn't happen.
