  1. Happy B-day Beane. But instead of planning a party maybe you should of put more effort into outside WR#3 and TE#2. You have board members here who can't sleep over those!
  2. All true but you can't overstate how bad their QB play has been in the last 4 years with Newton, Kyle Allen, Bridgewater and Darnold. For my money that's been the real problem.
  3. Carolina's passing stats last year were atrocious. 58% completion rate with 14TDs and 21 INTs with 52 sacks. Baker is much better than that. If McCaffrey can stay health and Baker plays out the year it's about a .500 team.
  4. There is absolutely zero chance that the top 53 salaried players are making the team. A few names below the 53 are as follows: Tommy Doyle, Reggie Giliam, Khalil Shakir, Christian Benford. Every team in the NFL has player under the 53 making the team every year. I wouldn't worry about this at all.
  5. Robert Hainsey came in to replace Jensen at center after the injury. He was a third-round pick last year and appeared in nine games. He played 31 offensive snaps and 35 special teams snaps.
  6. He's a bargain if you compare him to BB signing Jonnu Smith as TE2 for $10M per year for 294 yards/1 TD of production. It's the first week of camp and I have enough patience to see how McDermott uses Howard during the season.
  7. Dwight Schrute was back to work the same day.
  8. Along with a 3.6 YAC/R.
  9. It's early but nice to hear. Bernard getting props and Araiza is a big hopeful too.
  10. They just signed Morse to a 2-year extension a few months ago. He's pretty much a lock next year.
  11. Yes sir, may I have another. People missed my point I guess as the replies moved the conversation.
  12. Dolphins: Great talented roster. Teams' success is all on Tua and coaches. Finish 2nd in division. Question is as the "Best of the Wildcard" teams or an also ran. Patriots: Crossroads season for BB and the Pats* after the embarrassment they suffered to end their season. Finish 3rd or 4th in Division. Jets: One has to think they improved a good deal this year in regard to their roster. On the other hand, they are the Jets. Finish 3rd or 4th depending on how much the Patriots decline. Bills: Finish 1st in the division.
  13. I think they will. But with other possibilities than say what the Pats* did. Guys like Shakir who may be able to line up anywhere and moving a guy like Cook all along the offense. I think we may see some exotic alignments starting this year.
  14. I'm getting a feeling that the Bills O under Ken Dorsey may see a departure from the typical X, Z, slot and TE traditional roles. Beane has a group of "potential" pass catching personnel in camp that may be a sign of a change in strategy. Maybe even something not previously seen in the NFL. I'm not saying that it will be an instant change with regards to alignments this year but something different seems to be in the works.
  15. I see what you mean. My observations were more along the lines of muffed punts. I remember saying a couple of times he wasn't in proper position when the punt came into his body. I'd like to know the breakdown of what I surmised and what you've observed.
  16. LOL. Maybe it's a run up Currahee.
  17. Yes it was! Hyde is here through the next season. Can't see how he stays longer. Poyer is a tough decision. If he wants 3 years for big money I don't see it happening. 2 years at a reasonable rate I would say Beane could live with it. Beane has a much better idea of what the cap(s) will look like after the new TV contract is signed than we do so I'm leaving it on him. Poyer's agent is in town so maybe we hear something soon. I guess if nothing is done and he leaves that could mean something too. I would love to see them both stay until their play drops off but..............
  18. McKenzie has fumbled a total of 10 times in his career. 6 his first season with Denver (2017) and 2 with Buffalo in (2018). In his last 3 seasons with Buffalo, he has 2 fumbles. He has fumble issues, and he knows it too. Let's see how much work he is putting into improving and whether it's paying off. All the PR guys fighting for the job have 2 extremely different punters to work with this summer and the best performer "this year" will hopefully get the job.
  19. I was half kidding. Although getting TE a little more intense is a hope of mine.
  20. and then there's the Giant's fans with this one.
  21. Funny that I saw it as TE being the "voice" of the D (wearing the green dot helmet) that Von was making him be decisive. I'm going to hope that one of the "jobs" Von is tasked with this year is to get "Maine" to be decisive. Maybe that's why it made it through editing? LOL.
  22. Agree. What is often missed with these franchise QB contracts is the large amount of money that can be invested every year. While these guys are playing there is no way they have the time to spend anywhere near the amount of money they make. You are also correct about the EGO thing. It's what makes some of these guys want to hold out for a few bucks more to be the top paid guy. Using your $5M comment. When Josh has a kid and if he would put away $5M when born getting a modest 7% return on that investment. His kid would have about $25M when he graduates college. Put another way. His kid upon graduating is already generating $1.75M just in capital gains per year.
  23. Agree. After this contract plays out the Bills will have paid JA over $300M. Josh knows he and his extended family is set for life. Money is not the motivating factor in JAs mind (like Brady too). He's also smart enough to know that his next contract with the Bills will be for stupid money and the Bills will be happy to pay it. JA wants to win in the game of football, the money stuff is already taken care of.
  24. I don't see Josh Allen wanting a new deal because he wins a super bowl. He's not that kind of person. Also, fans need to know JA has $30M in additional incentives in his current contract for performance/winning.
