  1. Bills have to pass on guys like this. I for one believe a late day 2 or early day 3 pick next year will be used for another TE.
  2. Still hoping between his play (both WR and ST) this week that this young man can make the 53.
  3. All those small $s guaranteed is also one reason why Spotrac is more accurate than OTC. OTC system won't count those numbers until the player is cut. The other is Dead Money. OTC never has all the players on it that need to be. Currently OTC has 14 Dead Money players and Spotrac has 26. I know it's all little stuff, but it bugs my OCD.
  4. I sure did. Used last year's numbers. I will edit my post. Thanks
  5. Thanks for being the guy to post what has to be said every year. FWIW PS players get paid weekly which comes to $207k per year for each player. There are 16 of them. $207,000 x 16 = $3,312,000.
  6. Direct quote from Beane today. PS also cost a couple of million nowadays. Tre already had a restructure last year and so have others. It's time for Dion to get his.
  7. It's getting to the point where it's pretty obvious he won't make the Rams game. He will be missed. But the next 3 are against Tannehill, Tua and Lamar. Not the biggest outside and deep passing threats. Bills getting Tre back after game 4 won't be too bad. At least it won't be against Mahomes and Rodgers. Get him healthy if need be, it's a long season.
  8. I don't have a son and I'm sure you are proud. The bolded is the inevitable posts turning this into an Edmunds thread.
  9. It's a great trait of Beane. He tries very hard to learn from his mistakes. He doesn't make excuses or shift the blame. I can't ask for more than that!
  10. The biggest difference is roster spots. A PUP guy can go from PUP/Active (before the 53 cutdown) to PUP/Reserve without using a roster spot. A guy on IR before the 53 cutdown who stays on IR cannot come back during the season. IF they keep the guy on the active roster at the 53 cutdown date he can come back (8 total for the season). This is why very often another vet (usually a depth player) will take a cut at the 53 cutdown date and immediately re-sign once the guy(s) going back on IR get moved onto it.
  11. I was thinking if he was going to sign one of those guys, he would have done it already. Restructure or something, something could be a trade, I guess. I'm not one to imagine in any way I know more than the guys at OBD. I get a kick on trying to guess what they are thinking. Sounds like you do too.
  12. You are right. What I'm not sure of was he talking about activating him while he is still on the Active/PUP or Reserve/PUP or both. I took it he would need more time if he was activated before the cutdown, but I could easily be wrong. If what you are thinking is true, then it would be game 6 at the earliest.
  13. They can only start practicing after they are designated to return. Then they can practice during the 21-day window. In Tre's case his would only need the week and could start week 5. They can also rehab at the facility and attend meetings.
  14. Same. Except the wording is confusing. That total kept on the roster says "of the 8" so you have to add back Matt A. to your 5. That's why I said 6 rookies make it.
  15. Beane said they are impressed with Sweeney. Dorsey says Gilliam is FB and not TE. I have to believe it could now be 3 TEs with Knox, Howard and Sweeney on the 53. That puts pressure on the O roster and makes a good chance that 7WRs is off the table. The only way I see 7 is if there is 26 - O and 24 - D.
  16. Always a good idea for every poster. Unfortunately, it's looking like PUP for 4 games is a real possibility.
  17. Beane and McDermott say this every year. Everyone knows that but every year there are also exceptions. Last year Breida make the team and had limited ST play even when he was active for 9 games. Gabe Davis wasn't a starter and took almost no ST snaps. We'll have to wait another week to know. What Beane said about Sweeney was interesting. I now can see Knox, Howard, Sweeney as TEs especially since Dorsey said Gilliam is strictly a FB.
  18. Capra may get a good look this weekend. He's 3C and if he's look good at all in camp, he might have a PS shot.
  19. Beane said restructure so I don't see any new long-term extensions this year for Edmunds, Poyer, Knox or even Singletary. I'm down with that. Let them all play and worry about who you are keeping next spring.
  20. I was just looking at that. For guys that do not already have a restructure Dawkins is a prime candidate. Dawkins has 2 more years on his current contract and is down to $11M in dead cap. Beane could get up to about $5M saved with him, which would do it. They could go with Josh, but I doubt it.
  21. He no doubt was headed there anyways. Hope he can recover to come back as healthy as possible and help his teammates. The move got them to 80 so at least another guy gets another week to show his stuff. Get well soon Ike.
  22. My brother's gonna kill us!
  23. He's an UDFA playing very well. I don't understand why you only put up the stats you did. Colts: 6 rushes-11 yards rushing (like you pointed out) but how about the rest? 4 Catches - 60 yards 2 KR and 1 PR 1 solo tackle on ST. Broncos: 5 rushes - 58 yards 2 catches - 21 yards 1 KR The young man has done well in camp and preseason and for sure deserves at least a PS spot and a chance to compete for RB3 next year. He has already shown he can perform and do what the coaches have asked him to do. If others hype him more than you think he deserves that's cool but at least give him props for what he has done.
  24. Was just going to say this. Shaq is the 5th DE in my reckoning and if they think that there isn't much between him and Mike Love (Beach Boy), then it's not a bad move. Shaq (after the trade) is dirt cheap at $900k. If there are needed DE teams, I think it could happen.
