  1. Mainly put there for those who think he isn't going to make the 53. I think he does and if he doesn't, he gets claimed. I kind of did this for posters to discuss who cut and who picked up. Right. They keep most and cut if they make moves. They get a day to adjust the roster. Giants are in a good waiver spot at 5. Jags Lions Texans Jets Giants
  2. Offense: 25 QB: Allen, Keenum RB: Singletary, Moss, Cook, Jones, Gilliam WR: Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, Shakir, Crowder, Hodgins TE: Knox, Morris, Sweeney OL: Dawkins, Saffold, Morse, Bates, Brown, Quessenberry, Doyle, Mancz, Van Roten Defense: 25 DE: Miller, Rousseau, Epenesa, Basham, Lawson DT: Oliver, Jones, Settle, Phillips LB: Edmunds, Milano, Dodson, Bernard, Matakevich, Spector* CB: Elam, Jackson, Johnson, Benford, Neal, Lewis*(cut if Tre can play before week 4) S: Hyde, Poyer, J. Johnson, Hamlin ST: K: Bass P: TBD LS: Ferguson PUP: White, Boettger (When Tre comes back Lewis cut) (Ike stays on IR all year unless Von Rotten plays bad) IR: Stevenson (stays all year unless injuries to WRs) Commish/Reserve: Smith (When Smith returns Spector cut) Bryant and McCloud claimed off waivers Duke Johnson, Bobby Hart signed as FAs in the first few weeks
  3. All of his guaranteed money was cleared when he was traded. He has no dead cap hit right now. His salary will guarantee after the cutdown. Not that I want the Bills to cut him.
  4. There is a number of guys who are almost "coin tosses" as to whether they make the team or get cut. The Bills history has been signing these guys to the PS with some reliability they are available. Some or more than normal may get claimed. Free agents can sign with whomever they want. The waived guys have no choice where they go if claimed.
  5. No doubt GMs have a better idea than any of us. I have speculated that none of the guys talked about lately will get an extension this year. I think Beane is going to let this year play out and see where the cap is going and move on from there. If he signs one of them the rest will say "what about me"? This way he sits back and watches how everyone plays this year.
  6. If you're talking 2 years out Gabe Davis could be a big decision. Jones and Settle also are up. Hell, Bass will cost $5M per. Looking forward is not a big priority for most of this board but I'm sure Beane and his boys consider it all the time.
  7. A list of speculated cuts who have a chance of being claimed by another team. Please stay away Daboll, LOL. Brandon Bryant Nick McCloud (got claimed off OS last year by CIN) Joe Gilles-Harris Isaiah Hodgins Mike Love Josh Thomas Raheem Blackshear Some vet cuts who could sign with other teams: Jake Kumerow Duke Johnson Bobby Hart Does anyone have any others? Losing a few of these players would really weaken the PS and it could be that Beane will be having to bring it a lot more guys for workouts than he has in the past.
  8. The NFL is ready for cutdown to 53 this week. I thought it would be good to do a history for the last 4 years of how many waived players got claimed the day after cutdown. Also, to speculate what Bills players may get claimed. At this time of year some vets also get cut but outright sign with other NFL teams (a player like Duke Johnson comes to mind). After the main rosters are completed, there are some more waived players who get claimed as teams tweak their rosters probably due to the teams picking up some waived players. Here is the total number of players claimed the day after cutdown: Note: Spotrac numbers and I will link the years below. 2021 - 27 total 2020 - 16 (the low number has to have a Covid influence and maybe reflects the expanded PS roster size) 2019 - 37 total 2018 - 40 total I find the number of claimed players to be relatively low, but one would imagine that the better roster teams lose more players getting claimed than the poor roster teams (who no doubt pick up a lot more of these players). The Bills have had a pretty good PS the last few years and also have had players plucked by other teams. With Daboll and others no doubt looking at teams like the Bills, I'm hoping the Bills can field another good PS. I'll post in a reply as to some of the Bills "perspective" cuts who may get claimed this week. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/transactions/2021/claimed/ https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/transactions/2020/claimed/ https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/transactions/2019/claimed/ https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/transactions/2018/claimed/ Note: It shows the whole season, so you need to scroll down to the "day after" cutdown to see players.
  9. $207k per year. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a little more.
  10. Well said. If you look at the whole situation and wanted to do the "Cliff Notes" you nailed it.
  11. MA isn't Kobe and 2022 isn't early 2000's. It isn't equable but it's reality.
  12. It's your right to think what you think!
  13. I saw that too. It's a footnote in Bills history.
  14. It wasn't for the Bills evidently. The only thing left is what I said. If no one picks him up, the other 31 GMs feel the same way. We will know Monday at 4 PM.
  15. The legal decision(s) could take a long time. As to the Bills looking bad if he is squeaky clean, no one will really care. Then and only then, will another team think about signing him.
  16. It would take away any unsavory remnant the Bills organization is left with by drafting him. In that case, I agree! Let's hope some stupid team picks him up.
  17. LOL. Odds? NO ONE WILL PICK HIM UP, and you know it.
  18. I have to ask again for all the fans who don't like MA's release. Who is willing to bet another team picks him up on waivers?
  19. The legal processes will work out in regard to the civil and no doubt criminal aspects of this case. That being said, for all the Buffalo Bills fans that don't agree with the releasing of MA I only have one thing to say. All 31 other NFL teams have a chance to claim MA off waivers or sign after as a FA if no one picks him up tomorrow. Will the other 31 teams temper your opinion of the Bills if no one puts him on their roster?
  20. Yes, and if it ends up that he is totally exonerated he can continue his career. As a matter a fact some team can sign him tomorrow.
  21. Cut MA and tell him if he is cleared of charges, they will re-sign him. Use his spot to move a guy to IR. Bring in punters for tryouts and claim 1 off waivers at cutdown if need be. Bring another in on the PS and find out who starts week one. It's all sad but it is just a punter. They can survive this.
