Hodgins was a bubble player so now that he's gone, he's gone. I hope he clears waivers and if he does, I'd be shocked if he isn't on the PS. If he is on the PS he knows what he needs to do to try to break the bubble and make the team next season. As to Kumerow. I was very happy when the Bills claimed him and after his TD catch in 2020, I looked forward to what he could show in 2021. As to his targets, well all I can say is he didn't get many, but he was on the field for 116 snaps. He has trouble separating. I see it as Jake was on the field a lot in preseason and didn't get many targets at all. That tells me what I see is probably true. I'll give him the nod due to ST play but if he is needed at WR this year I hope he performs better than last year. Although he's 30+ and I think we've seen his ceiling. I hope he proves me wrong and also excels on ST. Lord knows the team has a lot of ST guys.

Geez Alpha. Some fans liked his play. I think he has a chance to get to the PS and keep improving. FTR, Kumerow (his competition) had 10 yards per catch against the same guys and he fumbled. Keenum and Barkley were throwing not Josh. It looks like Kumerow gets the nod and I hope he can have a better than 43% catch % if he is needed at WR again.

Brandon and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week

Brandon and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week Not a great title for a children's book. -
The way I see it is if they only lose 2 guys to waivers and maybe Duke Johnson to a signing it would be ok. If 3 or more guys get picked up it will weaken the PS enough to be a bit of a concern. Beane will fill it out the best he can but it's always good having guys that have spent time in the system. Agree with the logic. Anderson is probably safe, but you never know with OL. He was the only one that seemed worth anything when it came to the 3rd string OL. Be nice to keep.
-
Yes. So, do you think all 3 of Bryant, Anderson and Blackshear make the PS? I think Bryant has the best chances to get claimed. Does anyone sign Duke Johnson? I think it's a good chance.

It's Sweeney's last chance to prove it. They will draft another TE for sure if he doesn't show up big this year with what they want from him.

Ignore is your friend LOL. I'll give one more post to calm down, then it's a "time out" and he makes the list!

The Mancz is a puzzlement. Maybe there will be a guy going to IR. Could it be Mancz, he was injured but I thought it was reported it wasn't bad?
-
The only difference from my 53 roster is Kumerow for Hodgins and McCloud kept. Edit: Also, Hart for Mancz (that's confusing) I am still assuming Barkley ends up on PS. 55 on the tweet minus Barkley and Smith is 53. Someone will have to be moved to sign a punter by Thursday. Tre going to PUP seems likely now. Does this also mean Stevenson is cut/injury settlement?
-
LOL. That adds up to 6,500 in draft value!
-
LOL, that took me a second.

It costs $450k more to keep Morris and cut Howard.
-
I think Morris is kept in case Knox is injured. He probably is one of the guys that doesn't dress every week. The only thing about Sweeney is they feel he can be stronger and Kromer helps his blocking. If it isn't that, I don't know what the plan is.
-
Sure, it would have been nice if Howard could still move. He didn't look good in preseason and there wasn't a lot of positive talk about him during camp. I was for the signing, but it just ended up being a miss. The flip side is, if he was kept and played bad fans would criticize Beane for keeping him because of the cap money. It's a lose, lose situation and it seems they want the best players possible.
-
McDermott and Beane disagree. We are fans watching what they do. All of us have opinions that they disagree with. I'm not a huge Sweeney fan but my hope now is he can improve his blocking with help from Kromer.

I see the OJ Howard cut and cap hit this way. If they kept Howard, it costs $255k more than if they cut him. They want Morris over Howard, and it works out like this. Morris costs $705k $705k - $255k = $450k The bottom line is Howard did not look good and it's a "cut your losses" now instead of him taking up the roster spot and not playing well. $405k more to keep Morris over Howard in the sense of keeping a better player (who is cost controlled next year too at $870k) is not horrible to me. Beane had a swing and a miss but no sense doubling down on poor play for the money. I too thought OJ would be much better than how showed.

McDermott keeps 6 LBs every year. Smith to Commish List and Spector can be the 6th. No decisions need to be made until Smith is eligible to come back. Gilles-Harris is the only wildcard.

Agree with this. If the Bills follow their past history and only dress 2RBs, Jones and Gilliam then Zack Moss becomes a lot more expendable. Even if it happens, I think Moss stays but an argument for a trade can be made. They have needed to do this because of all the other ST players dressing. If they plan on all 5 dressing and have another plan for ST then Moss for sure stays.

Has Tom been seeing Michael Jackson's old doctor? -
Without those continuous streams of electrical impulses, he would collapse like a bunch of broccoli.

Jimmy G takes pay cut, staying with Niners

They both took the best option available to them. -
Technically you don't totally protect any practice squad players. Each game week you can protect 4 PS players early in the week. This is so any players that may be needed and "elevated" for that week cannot be poached by another team. The catch is after the week these players go back onto the practice squad and are eligible to be poached every Tuesday. No PS player is completely protected.

I'm glad you rephrased Morris. As for Sweeney his is a borderline TE3 JAG / PS TE in my opinion. Lots of JAG TEs in the league every year.
