Is Allen routinely fooled by pre-snap disguises?
ColoradoBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
My connection of his dots is as valid as his observations. Sometimes I'm wrong I will admit, I still got some land I bought outside of Letchworth State Park for sale. -

So, a guy from the Ringer (a .com sports site whose HQ is in Los Angeles) comes out with a not too great critique of the Bills QB just in time for the opening game between the 2 teams. Right. -

He takes a lot of chances when a D-lineman is in his face. His new starting RG play is going to be big. If the Bills can consistently beat Coleman Sheldon, then Stafford will have a D-lineman in his face. One of my "keys to the game". If McDermott, Frazier and Washington can exploit this it will help even out the Darnold factor from the other side. -
Is Boston Media finally starting to sour on Bilicheat?
ColoradoBills replied to muppy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree a lot of weight will be on Mac Jones's shoulders along with their DBs. In the past teams had to play mistake free football to beat the Pats. No one wanted to get in a shootout with TB at QB. BB and TB dictated the play and teams were very intimidated by them. That's in the past. MJ is not TB and teams will play them more straight up and try to play "their game" and not BB's more than any time in the last 20+ years. -

Take the Bills out of the equation for a moment when you look at BB and his 2021 season. BB had the inside track to win the AFCE going into their Bye Week. In the past when BB's teams would be at their best at the end of a season and entering the playoffs. What did they do? The Pats lost 3 of their last 4 games with their only win against JAX. They backed themselves into the playoffs and proceeded to lose to the Bills in one of (if not THE worse) playoff loss since BB became HC. In those 3 regular season games and the playoff loss the "vaunted" NE defense with BB's famous X's and O's schemes gave up an average of 35 points per game! During those games their offense averaged less than 20 points per game. BB and the Patriots ended the 2021 season, by far in the worse way, since Bledsoe was QB. Until he shows me that it was a horrible fluke, I'm predicting the slow crumbling of the once mighty empire. The NFL is much more about offense than defense and I don't think BB can adjust to that change, especially with the secondary he currently has on the roster. -

"Snow, what do you think of Tremaine Edmunds"? -
Steelers have a new IOL. If they play well enough to give Mitch time, I feel he will succeed. They open on the road against the Bengals and then home against the Pats. That ought to tell a lot about how they can play.

But how do we befuddle the snow? -
Rams have a relatively new guy at RG starting this year, Coleman Shelton. 3rd year UDFA with a total of 2 starts. Von has to know the Rams OL pretty well and that could be key. Ed and Von working on his weaknesses could be a big thing in moving Stafford. Havenstein is a pretty good RT but he's not the quickest RT in the league and once again Von should know him. Von and the DL is the key to a victory. Josh will score points. Bills CBs are a perceived weakness and need a great DL performance.

Sorry. This fashion talk was getting to me. LOL. I don't care what uniforms they wear. Just win. Go Bills! -

I've tried to guess the inactives by position if all are healthy. One each of OL, TE, DL, LB, DB. -

Maybe Tuesday too. It makes PR sense. It's something that can be shown on National TV Thursday night. If they don't, they missed a great PR opportunity. -
You make good points to illuminate the other side of this RB debate. I have shown in other threads that the cliche "you can find good RBs in any round and even UDFA" is an urban legend. Finding a good RB taken after both Singletary and Moss in 2019, 2020 respectively would of been akin to hitting a hard 8 in craps. As to Devin and his future, none of know what will happen yet. Re-signing him is a possibility and I'll give some reasons. 1. He still has a lot of tread. Averaging 200 touches a year is not bad at all. 2. Last year was a bit of a breakout season and he is becoming a weapon on the offense. He had 8 TDs last year. 3. No one knows what kind of contract extension he would be willing to sign. His $5M "market value" over a 3-4 year extension could be worked to get 2-3 years at a little less than that. After that time, most RB playing starts to fall off. I'm not 100% convinced he is NOT on the team next season. Zack Moss was the 9th RB picked in 2020. He is the last pick worth anything in that draft. I'll admit so far this hasn't been a big plus for Beane but I got to see what the end result will be. Maybe a trade after this year if Devin stays, maybe a bigger role next season. I have no idea what James Cook's play will mean to the Bills. I have to wait to see if a 2nd rounder (which I think is high for a RB) is worth it. As to others who may contest my theory of Day 3 picks not producing decent RBs I will say this. In 2019 (when Devin was picked) the Bills had zero RBs. They had to inject either picks or $'s in FA to bring up the caliber of play. The 18 (that's right 18) RBs taken in Day 3 had 2 RBs worth their salt. Tony Pollard and Miles Gaskin. So, it's not about some theoretical past, it was about drafting a RB in 2019. The conundrum GMs face with RBs is their serviceable timeline is about 6 years or so. It's in between the rookie contract and a 2nd contract that many times end up being a mistake. I will wait to see what Beane does. One last footnote on this long reply: Bills fans having high hopes for a guy like Blackshear developing into a decent RB is exactly what some want to have happen all the time. A cheap UDFA, correct? His contract could defer some of the cost both in picks and $s. I do have hope for him.

Here are the stats I read from last year. https://www.nfl.com/stats/team-stats/special-teams/punts/2021/reg/all Bills punt a lot less than the average and have way less returns. The thing with me is having a low number of shanks. -
Sure, the Bills have expectations. I do think last regular season was a lesson for them not taking each game as serious as they should have. This year it's this. Win the Division with as many wins as possible. They all mean something when it comes to home field throughout the playoffs. The whole team knows this. It's up to McDermott, Josh and Von to keep them focused. 2 home wins and you're in. Then its winner takes all. They got a good shot, but it's still a long tough journey.

Ralph was cheap but he wasn't greedy. If he was, he would have sold the Bills to another city well before his death.
