I agreed that Poyer is most likely gone. As to my comments on cap I just meant that a larger increase would enable Beane to keep a couple more of the UFAs he has coming up. I also agree with the way the safeties probably role over. I don't totally agree about Beane bringing in some high dollar FAs next year. I think he uses his money to re-sign his own FAs.

Thanks for the info about their rookies. I hadn't looked up their depth chart yet, so your post inspired me. RT Petit-Frere. From what I read he is a complete unknown as to how his NFL career will go. Here is his draft profile from NFL.com as example. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/nicholas-petit-frere/32005045-5451-7308-20b9-a04a397749a8 McCreary sounds like a solid prospect more suited to NCB than CB. It's weird that depth charts have him in both. I guess we'll know this weekend where he lines up. RG Aaron Brewer is an UDFA with only 6 NFL starts in the last 2 years. The got Robert Woods this year and the 1st round rookie Traylon Burks but after that their pass catching threats at WR and TE are a pretty weak. I can't see how they keep up if this game turns into any kind of shootout. Wow, I forgot about Woods and his ACL last season. Thank you.

I tend to agree with you. The only thing that is the complete wildcard as to what ultimately happens with players starting next year will be the new cap structure. The more I read, the more I am believing it will indeed explode between 2023 and 2026. There are many articles saying that by 2026 the cap should be at a minimum of $300M. Beane and the other GMs must know way more than we do about this. It's going to be an interesting off season this year!

If you truly believe that, wouldn't the fumble humble him. I would bet he was one of the quietest guys on the plane ride back. Let's give him 100 touches before we even start to see his worth.

Von Miller played just 35 snaps vs the Rams

Basham is looking fast. I also noticed he has a high motor and never gives up on plays. I saw him way down field often after pass completions. I really like his energy. It does look like Beane and McDermott finally got the DL they wanted. -
My Dad worked with a guy with season tickets. He'd give programs to him for my brothers and me. I would read them over and over. Great memories but I sure wish I would have kept them.

Just rewatched the game. A lot of the check downs to Moss was when he was surrounded by D. On one play he caught the ball 4 yards behind the LOS surrounded and managed to get a 3-yard gain all on his own. I'm not saying Moss is better than Devin but this talk that he is a detriment to the team is just crazy.

Sean McDermott September 9 press conference

Great response on how they handle a thing like the Cook fumble. -
Context Einstein, context. Elam played late in the game when the game was over and the D as a whole was letting Stafford play pitch and catch for short yardage gains. Let's just give it some time to see how things play out.

All this Moss over Singletary stuff like it was a schemed gameplan is nothing but speculation. I'll speculate. I would imagine with all 3 RBs dressing and Dorsey being a new OC that all were going to get touches. Singletary was going to start and probably was going to get the most snaps. Lo and behold he did. He got just under 60% of them. I'm fairly certain a number of Moss's snaps (37%) would have gone to Cook (5%) but the young man had a rough start. Gilliam had 32% of snaps as the FB. When he went down, I do think that changed some of the personnel decisions. That is a lot more than his average of 14% last year. Hope he's OK going forward. Running plays can be RPOs a lot of times and how many catches a RB receives due to check downs are not "game planned". The final statistics can lead to conclusions by some but can also not be factual. I don't see some radical change in what I plan to see this year. Devin will get the lion's share of snaps and Josh won't run as much as he did yesterday. Only question I have is which RB gets the 2nd amount. I believe it will ultimately be Cook. Speculation over.

Yes. Dane is also a RFA next year. I get the feeling Beane will have some great options as to how he handles the whole CB situation. If Dane isn't on the team next year Beane will get a pick for him.

Of course it was. Also, I bet half of Firebaugh and all his alumni teammates from Reedley JC was in attendance. The prodigal son returned to show who he became! Knowing how he thinks I don't blame him. He won't be doing this in normal game situations the rest of the season.

Jordan Phillips is the best DT on this team.
ColoradoBills replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oliver, Poyer, Edmunds and Singletary all played well last night. I think we can lay a reasonable bet this will continue. Have to start to add Phillips and dare I say Crowder into the "how many of these guys can be signed" list. What a great problem for Beane to have! The guys that don't make the cut will be signing some big contracts somewhere else. 2024 draft will have 3rd round comp picks for the Bills and none for the Pats. It's just one more F U to BB. -

The whole DL played great. Phillips had a great game. I'm dumbfounded as to why fans want to "rate" every player against another player. -
Week 1 - Bills 31 ~ Rams 10 - Morning After Breakdown And Reaction
ColoradoBills replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
I commented after the game about the Hill INT. I found a reply of the play. When Crowder came off the line it looks to me that he wanted to be a little shallower in his route but S Nick Scott (#33) was directly in his way. Crowder chose to go deeper to get around him. If he went shallower, he would have not been past the chains. It seems to me it threw off the route and timing. Should Allen not have thrown the pass? In hindsight yes. Should Crowder tried to come back some? In hindsight, yes. Crowder also slowed down because Josh didn't throw quicker. He could have kept moving to keep Hill behind him. My opinion is that it was not really all Crowder's or Allen's fault but just one of those plays that happens. I say all this not to lay blame or try to cover up blame for either player. Just find it interesting and would love to hear the team discuss this play when they watch it. https://www.therams.com/video/highlights-rams-cornerback-troy-hill-intercepts-bills-josh-allen -
I'm going to say it once more. Chris gushes over any player or team who are playing great. He's a cheerleader for the elite. Josh will have him praising everything he does.

James Cook is going to be a major problem

Yep. Kelly Skipper will not be happy. I wouldn't want to be in the RB room next week. -

OK I wasn't posting during the game but now that it's over I hope someone can post the complete play of the Josh/Crowder INT. As Crowder came across a LB was in his route path and he had to turn up to avoid him. It slowed his pattern and made his route deeper. Josh threw the ball late (because Crowder was a split second late getting to the spot and a little deep), this gave the DB the chance to break on the ball. I believe what I saw was accurate and if so, it really was no one fault. Just a bad set of circumstances. With all the time I got in retirement I just might get that All 22 (if that's the right term) subscription. If someone knows how to get that play it would be great.
