The UNC doctor and the team physician both make the call. Buffalo Channel 7 has this article that is short and concise of the procedures. https://www.wkbw.com/news/local-news/faq-what-actually-happens-when-an-nfl-player-enters-concussion-protocol I do like this part. If the NFL Commissioner determines that a medical team failed to follow the protocol in order to win a game, the Commissioner can require the team to forfeit draft picks and impose fines that can exceed the amounts above.

NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol
ColoradoBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lots of emotions over this and a lot of info. To add to the info, I just read this NFL/NFLPA pdf on player safety and protocols. https://nflcommunications.com/Documents/2020 Kickoff Guide/2 - Player Health and Safety.pdf Page 14 has the Concussion checklist. I read it that, if there is any sign of "fencing", the player cannot return to play. Explains all the spotters, UNCs and other protocols and responsibilities. I found it interesting. I apologize if this has been already posted and I missed it. -
NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol

Now there is 5 separate groups concerned over this incident. The NFL is in a tough spot. They set up these UNCs to appease that committee. -

I'm sure it's not over yet. This could become bigger than some of us think. -
NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol

Maybe, but like I just posted above, what will these UNCs do going forward? If the NFL doesn't do anything with Miami this could backfire on them big time. -
NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol
ColoradoBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
It may become foolish for them to do that. I mean, if I was a Dr in other games going forward, I would rule a concussion a whole hell of a lot more if they hang this guy out to dry. -
The curious case of: Devin Singletary
ColoradoBills replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
The snap count numbers do not show that. Devin is getting the same number of snaps that Derrick Henry is getting from the Titans. Touches are another subject but as I said earlier it's more a game situation thing than an RB preference IMO. -

While it is evident the Dr made mistakes, I hope this doesn't give a reason to let the Miami organization off the hook. -
NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol
ColoradoBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
True, but I'm talking about the consequences that Tua may suffer and how that would make a player feel after. I guess I'm saying all players know they can be injured or injure another player. Tua could be greatly escalating those chances. -
Tua has a Charity - Let's Give It A Boost!!!
ColoradoBills replied to Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD's topic in The Stadium Wall
That number is for A-Rated charities. Low-rated charities can be below 25%. Everyone should go to the top Charity Rating Organizations before they donate. Especially when it comes to Veteran's charities. Some are the best and some are the worse. -
NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol

I can't help but wonder what the Jets defensive players feelings are if Tua is cleared to play. No player would want to be the 3rd guy to knock him out, but you can't give Tua a free ride either. What kind of damage could be done if it happened 3 weeks in a row? If Tua had never sustained any of these injuries, no one would question a Jets player laying the lumber on him. What will the perception be if a Jets player does that next Sunday? -
The curious case of: Devin Singletary
ColoradoBills replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm confused with this debate. These are the snap count numbers from Pro Football Reference. 2021 season snap count for RBs Singletary - 60% Moss - 32% Breida - 7% 2022 season snap count for RBs Singletary - 63% Moss - 23% Cook - 15% 2021 FB Gilliam - 13% 2022 FB Gilliam - 26% When it comes to "touches", I have to believe it is more of a game situation than a schemed RB preference. I'm going to stick with my early prediction that Devin gets the lion's share of snaps (55-60%) and by the end of the season Cook will be getting as much or more snaps than Moss. -
What are you frigging talking about? A habit of excuses?

Rob Quirk used to come out to the Dublin House to watch Bills games back in the 90's super bowl runs with us. I sat next to his brother on a flight from CHI to BUF one time. -
For real. I just want to say, the older I get, the more cautious I've become. It's one thing to get released from the hospital after this and go home and have someone watching you. For me, it's a completely different thing to leave, get on an airplane, and if something goes wrong....................! 911 won't help at 35,000 ft. Doctors or not, I would be nervous.

Tua gets 10 days to recover and then travel to play the Jets. What's the problem with that?

It's the Hackett Factor.

Thank you, Bengals, but I'm not sending $9 anywhere this time.

I got Amazon on my Roku and it's streaming fine. The one thing I will say is at times the Roku needs to be rebooted to clear the cache. I notice it can get choppy at times, especially if I'm jumping from one streaming app to another quickly.

Wow. That was a pass.

Looks like the NFL letter of the Law needs to be modified. I know posters are upset with the TV crews but for me the true responsibility lies with the NFL. I'm sure the NFLPA has the lawyers ready to go. The people on TV are indirectly paid to be cheerleaders for the NFL. The non-NFL affiliated sportscasters will need to do the talking.

Read my bolded. I'm done with the conversation. -
Boomer Esiason suggests the Bills should trade for Barkley
ColoradoBills replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
Come on man. I said there are 2 players (one being Josh) they can use to restructure. That's it. NOT any of the 53 on the roster. That was the discussion. -

LOL. I shouldn't have let the conversation get to where it's at. If you're giving me some sarcasm, I probably deserve it. If it's not it should have its own thread. I'm not the only one who enjoys that kind of stuff. Just in case, I will say, there are only 6 players (not 53) with salaries above $2M who could MAYBE be restructured right now. I use $2M because you can't restructure Base Salary to zero. It has to be at least player minimum. 4 of them are on the last year of their contracts so any restructure goes to dead cap next year. That leaves Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs (and Diggs has already restructured and had his money pushed out). Open up the Spotrac site and click to sort on "Base Salary". Edmunds will be on top. He's not restructuring without a new contract. Same goes with Poyer, Keenum and Oliver. There's a lot more to this stuff, but that is the basics. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/ EDIT: Sorry, linked wrong site. This is right.
