No way that the coaches have even considered this. He's an All-Pro CB and that's where he stays. If, and that's a big if, his game diminishes because of injuries then a Plan B would be needed. I'd rather trade Tre than have him play S for $16M a year.

Agree. I would add that the 2 Steelers games I watched (Bengals and Browns) the Pittsburg OL was not very good. That's a tough position to put a rookie QB in.

Jordan Poyer named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

He is one awesome football player. -
LOL that Jets game was nuts. Namath had a bunch of INTs, and nobody could throw the ball. That is so funny we both went to the same games.

I went with my dad to the NY Jets and Chicago Bears games that year. I remember my dad had that card and us deciding on what games to go to. Thanks for the memory.

I've tried to find that answer and could not find anything specific. I also looked to see if the rule changes if a player is assigned to the 53 full time and then returns to the PS. Still nothing. What I do keep reading is a player can only be called to a team's main roster up 3 times for the season, so I would say no. I guess I would speculate that if another team signs a player who formerly was on another practice squad, it would reset for the new team. I know, no real help, but I tried. LOL.

Wow, I was prepared to just post my thoughts without having a post to reference. Thanks for that. I refuse to believe the entire OL is incapable of becoming a capable run blocking group. Once again, I will repeat that I speculate that the new OC has spent the majority of time working the passing game. I also have commented that the Steeler game is a perfect opportunity to put together some sort of running plan. The OL won't become a capable run line without the effort being put forth.

Well let's put it this way. The entire NFL knows what Tavon Austin is worth. He may get a call-up, but he is no one's full time WR. Stevenson may or may not end up being better but it's the youth and potential that would be the question. Even though he has been on IR he has had time to delve into the playbook and take a lot of mental snaps. When the time comes Austin still can be on the PS and Stevenson can take a slot on the 53 and show if he can stay there. Those 3 losses result in an 11-point combined differential.

Next March is going to be brutal on Beane. So many decisions. Jordan Poyer is a beast!
-
I think he (or Hodgins) just get a call-up. The Bills don't have to fill the 53rd roster slot. Probably depends on how Kumerow is recovering.
-
I can agree he is worth a 2nd round especially if the plan is that Benford moves to S. Hate to see Poyer go but that is probably going to happen. J Johnson is an UFA, and I don't know what will happen with him. The 2023 projections are: Original Round - $2.6M 2nd Round - $4.3M 1st Round - $6M
-
Going to be interesting to see what RFA Tender the Bills assign Dane come March.

Beane will need to use restructures just to field 53 players next year. He's at -$8M with only 36 players signed. Edmunds is only one of the multiple FAs which needs a decision. There will be players moving on that we all would like to keep. I will stick to my point that it all depends on where the cap is going.
-
First, great thread title. Second, I too have become a believer in TE. Third, if money wasn't a problem, he is definitely worth keeping due to his play. So, it comes down to money. As things go right now it just seems Beane won't be able to swing a long-term contract. BUT none of us know what the cap will be in 2 years. I will repeat that, none of us know. The only way I see this happening is building Edmunds's contract with a 5-year term. As much as we all laugh about his age it is the way to make it work. Having a cheap cap hit in 2023 with an option to do a restructure of some Base Salary in 2024. This will only happen if Beane knows where the cap is going, and he can structure a workable contract with Edmunds and his agent. I do think Edmunds wants to stay in Buffalo. It would mean that he takes a little less per year IF he wants to stay.

LOL. This was fun watching the Rams play the way they did. NFCW, ALL teams are 2-2. SF the Division leader.
-
Wow, the Rams taking forever.
-
Pick 6 on Stafford and you can turn out the lights.
-
SF did everything right but the FG.
-
Got to love the big FB on a catch like that.

Help me understand an OBJ trade

The 2 games I watched of theirs the OL was bad. Trubisky failed but that OL was a big part of it.
-
The play wasn't a sweep on the pitch. Devin caught the ball and ran pretty much straight up. It gave him vision to see the blocks. My point is the running game does not have a lot of variation to it.
-
Wilson runs well off of pitches. The Bills pitched one to Devin on Sunday that went for about 15 yards. Just saying.

Quarter Pole: Unexpected Results Around the League

LOL. No, I'm just an old man who has seen a lot of seasons and how things can change after a few games. -
Stafford is under duress.
