  1. Totally true. But like everything in life, these moves come with a risk. Pushing that guaranteed money out only works if the player continues to perform or doesn't get injured. A very small example is what happened to Hyde this year. Micah converted over $5M this spring to free up money but he got injured. The team lost his services, so eventually a player like Marlowe had to be added. IF for some reason when Hyde starts next year on PUP and ends up not being able to play, the Bills would lose $7M instead of $2M in dead money, and the team loses his services, and has to add another player. This of course is magnified when you add a 1 or 2 in front of those numbers.
  2. Spotrac has it for all teams. To do a huge comparison you have to sign up for their premium package. But if you want to see the Bills I will post below. Most fans only look at "cap space". In Spotrac you can toggle the drop down to show $ spent. I will post that. Cap is $208M and you can see the Bills spent $270M. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cash/ Here is the Spotrac Cap Tracker with all the teams listed. You will notice that when you click on the Cash Tracker Tab it asks for your login for Premium like I said above. I think next spring I'm signing up for the Premium package. I'm probably too much into this stuff, but I find it fascinating and want to see how Brandon handles next seasons signings. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/ He didn't have near the liquidity that the Pegula's offer the Bills.
  3. The finances and how well they are managed is huge. A lot of fans don't appreciate what Brandon Beane does. Also not appreciated is the Pegula's role in that. The Bills are $62M over the cap with cash this year. There is a large amount of NFL owners who wouldn't allow that to happen. Brandon pushes the financials without letting it turn into a negative.
  4. Just want him back 100% next year. Bills will need him with the good chance Poyer will be somewhere else.
  5. If Milano doesn't play Dodson gets the start. Bills are going to run up the score and when that happens Bernard will get his snaps.
  6. Active. Takes the 2nd punt (Shakir with the 1st) return and all punts following. Won't take any snaps on offense until the Bills run the score up. Motor and Cook get all the snaps until then.
  7. Bravo Shaw for trying to explain Edmunds' role in the Bills D. I could have added more of your replies, but this is enough. The Bills D uses Edmunds differently. He's not a typical MLB. He is continuously filling the middle in a 2 LB w/nickel roll. That means not only covering the middle, but he has the responsibility to cover the weak side too. He can do that with his size and range. I do have to laugh a little about the GB game. Edmunds had 13 solo tackles. 13. The most he has ever had, and fans think he played a bad game. IF the Bills truly wanted to stop GB running the ball, they had 2 options. They could have come out of the 2 deep and/or they could have come out of the nickel. They chose not to. That choice caused Edmunds to have to chase down runners well back from the LOS. But he made a bunch of those plays that would of went for more yards if he failed. I will admit I have been down on Edmunds when I have thought of him in a typical MLB role, but this year when the Bills are on D I watch Edmunds' first move a lot more than I did in the past. It shows where his responsibility is. He is the guy that other teams gameplan against to try to move him into bad spots or disguised roles. I now think he is doing exactly what Frazier wants him to do and he does a very good job at it. It's one of the reasons that the TV commentators praise him so much. They hear what the opposing teams say about him week after week. The space he takes up also allows the SS (Poyer) and others to run free and make a lot of the splash plays that they do. Whether or not he is re-signed in March is going to have a lot to do with the cap money and how much Edmunds and his agent want. I think I'm not going out on a limb saying Edmunds is the priority signing over Poyer for a number of reasons. My prediction is Edmunds is signing for $15-16M per on a 5-year contract. If he wants $19M+ he will have to get it somewhere else (and probably could). This board is going to melt down when he does sign.
  8. A very bad place as a visiting fan to go to a game. Our company's headquarters was in Philly and even the guys there that were fans said it was horrible to watch how they treat opposing fans.
  9. Good throw, good catch.
  10. What I have is an OTA Antenna and can at least switch to local TV quickly. It's good today with the World Series. It is a bad thing when streaming.
  11. A Texans upset would be wonderful.
  12. LOL, I did the disclaimer and laughed as I typed it. You know how things get around here. Same with me about the 1st game. It will be costly and difficult to get tickets and I will want to go with the brothers and nephews who still live in WNY.
  13. Without starting a big thing, a project like this will really inject a lot of financial activity in the region for the next few years. Local business will benefit, and local communities will collect a good amount of taxes. Not all the cost of projects like this are sunk. I'm going to make a trip to the 2nd or 3rd home game in 2026. Can't wait to experience the new stadium!
  14. Wow, Dean is so happy to be back in Buffalo. The "once a Bill, always a Bill" statement was cool. I forgot about him playing for McDermott in Carolina. Great to have him back with the situation at S.
  15. Interesting. Thanks for making me aware of that. I know Tua has improved but how much is him and how much is he a "Goff" in a system that is currently working well? Miami has a good team. I want to see more from them before I say how good they really are.
  16. I'm sure Himes as a PR was definitely included in the decision. What exactly their faith in Shakir I won't try to estimate. I do know that with Hyde out and a lack of faith in McKenzie as a punt returner left Shakir as the only option. An injury to him would put them in a bad spot. Even when Hines takes over the PR duties, I'm sure Shakir will still be taking punts in practice. He just won't need to worry about gameday duties.
  17. Don't get me wrong. I take the Dolphins seriously. Good chance they end up the top Wild Card team. I know this "Rams SB Path" scheme is the big thing everyone talks about, and I don't discount it has merits but it's far from a sure-fire way to do it. As for the SB win, I just have to say playing the Bengals for it was the easiest path they could have asked for. Chiefs or Bills playing could have been a totally different outcome. I'm not ready to put the Dolphins as a team, or the moves at the trade deadline, on an equal footing to where the Rams were last year. As for the future of the Dolphins, my point about maintaining and then improving is tough for every team, including the Bills. I come back to trusting Beane and McDermott to keep the path open and will need to see Miami prove it can keep pace.
  18. After reading that post that "some dude" ended up on the ignore list. Talk about a troll.
  19. True, next year Tua's cap hit is only about $10M but in 2024 (5th year option) hit will be closer to $24M. It's not like he will coming in cheap. Money wise, things are tightening up for them. As for draft picks they have blown their wad, so going forward they're behind the curve. 2023: 2,3,3,6,7. 2024: 1,2,5,6,7. They have a good team but will have to work hard to maintain it.
  20. It's some time away as to who gets cut to make room for him. Currently the Bills only have 5 WRs on the 53. None IMO would be cut to add him. If things remained the same, I would guess one of the 11 DBs would go.
  21. Do you ever listen to your replies. You love to say anything to cause a controversy.
  22. My point is you talk about things without truly reading what posters say.
  23. This only makes sense IF every human being having an ACL injury is identical. Is that what you mean?
  24. Do you really think that Tre said, "no, don't release me from PUP", and they did it anyway?
  25. It was "touches", not attempts that @BuffaloBillyGalluded to.
