The big bump in cap will come after the new TV deals are negotiated.

Most pundits that track this have been saying $220M-$225M for next year. Every extra dollar will be needed by Beane to keep the guys he wants and to acquire a couple additional players.

Under McBeane, the Bills are a player friendly franchise

Great thread topic @Inigo Montoya Makes it so easy to root for this team. -
So, if I get this right the facts are as follows for OBJ. Let's forget any previous hype and look at it for face value. 1. OBJ may or may not be available to play this year. If he does, he probably will not be anywhere close to his former self. 2. He seems set on signing a multi-year contract and will not do a "rest of the year" deal. 3. He wants up to $20M per year. That puts him firmly in WR#1 money no matter how you slice it. 4. Unknown as to what type of contract details he would settle on. Re-injury, guaranteed money, incentives. 5. The NFL world has yet to hear what kind of "workouts" OBJ has performed to show his availability. What I see concerning the Buffalo Bills. 1. The Bills need someone who can push Gabe Davis for the #2WR position this year. 2. I'm not going to get into cap talk BUT the Bills are limited next year in money. 3. The Bills can ill afford to use up another roster spot at WR who cannot perform on a weekly basis. Personally, I wanted OBJ on a "rest of the year" deal and would have sacrificed some good money if he was healthy. Not knowing what he can do for this year's playoff run is concerning. No matter how this turns out no one can criticize for Brandon Beane looking at all the facts and having to weigh the risks.

I hope that statement doesn't mean you think you're a better fan than me. I would imagine the hope of all Bills fans (including my own) is that the Bills win the Superbowl this year. Ultimately for some of us, being a fan brings enjoyment of the game and an appreciation for the men who represent our team. You have the right to be any type of fan you want to be, and the right to constantly start threads expressing your disappointment. I regret my comment attempting to show that the measuring stick you use can be applied to both the Bills AND their opponents. In the future I won't attempt that again. I'll leave you to return to your intelligent debate while I enjoy the next 8 days after this past win, and then hope for another!

If that was true, then why doesn't a good team sign every quality UFA every year for whatever money they want?

He played 61% of yesterday's snaps so I agree he is full go in 10 days.

This board is going to implode when Beane signs him to a 5-year contract. I don't think Edmunds will even test the market. It will be a fair deal for both parties.

Brady is not going back to NE, and neither is McDaniel's. It's over for BB. He is not going to survive long enough to beat Shula's win record.

We will all know next week Wednesday. I'm guessing limited to start with, and if it's not bad, full Thursday.

9 min 94 yard drive on the road.

If fans can't understand that this is why you want a good running attack with check downs to RBs I don't know what they are thinking. I can't remember the exact game, but I remember during the SB years with Kelly, the Bills came out and had a 13-minute drive for a TD. It killed the opposition. -
It's a team's right to have their physicians perform a physical before signing. If OBJ refuses and I was Beane, I would pass on the deal.
