  1. If Lamar is too stubborn to sign a long term deal (which he should have already done) they will most likely tag him. I just don't see a tag and trade.
  2. Crowder signed for essentially a $2M guaranteed deal last year. If he doesn't get a team with a decent amount guaranteed I could see the Bills bringing him back to camp.
  3. OK. I got to say that it seems to me that Seattle will use pick(s) to get a QB. Geno Smith won't take them deep in the playoffs but is good enough for them not to get another chance for a top QB. They could easily jump the Colts with Denver's 2nd. Raiders don't have to draft capital to go that high. If I was a Seahawk fan and they didn't come out of this with a QB I'd be pissed. Jackson is an UFA. Ravens sign him to the big contract or they move on.
  4. Where is Darek Carr in all of this?
  5. This guy will not even count against the Top 51 in cap space unless he makes the team after camp. Like i said, he will most likely get a taken bonus like all the players do. CB Kyler McMichael just signed a 2-year Reserve/Futures contract with the Bills with a 9k signing bonus. It's standard contracts in the NFL. I may eat crow when his #'s come out, but I was being generous with the $25k. I believe he is signing what will be a Reserve/Futures type contract like our other PS players.
  6. What are you so mad about. He is likely signing for vet minimum. FTR most UDFAs sign with a "token" signing bonus. That token signing bonus holds true for all the Reserve/Futures contracts the Bills just gave a bunch of their PS players from last season. If you don't know that I invite you to look at the roster in Spotrac and scroll down to the bottom players. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/
  7. They better. I'm a fan of both Beane and McDermott and I can have patience for Dorsey to improve this coming season but they have to give Josh some decent protection. I will be very disappointed in them if they don't!
  8. Wow. There's a lot of vitriol for a camp body special team player signing. Vet minimum for Zayne is $870k. If he can replace one of the Jones, Kumerow, Neal spots it will save some money. Using Siran Neal as an example. If Zayne can beat him out by the end of camp it nets a cap savings of $1.91M. If he can perform having him sign a 2-year deal at vet minimum (or near it) will save even more. Although, he will probably get the big $25k signing bonus! Until FA starts there isn't a lot of "talent" out there to be signed. In other big NFL news, the Arizona Cardinals signed TE Noah Togiai yesterday!
  9. Lee Smith and Ken Dorsey both were on the Buffalo Bills during the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
  10. This Zayne guy is strictly ST. He has never taken a snap on D for the Chiefs. Neal is the perfect guy to cut after camp if a player like Zayne can take his place.
  11. I believe it is a standard RFA contract.
  12. 1st year - $9M cap hit 2nd year - $13.5M 3rd year - $22.5M Release at the start of 4th year with a $15M dead cap hit. That equals a total of $60M for 3 years of play. If he actually plays the 4th year it costs $27.5M more.
  13. Roquan's cost will average out to $20M per for 3 or 4 years of play. I don't see any winking in that. Every big dollar contract cost less in cap hit the first 2 seasons because of guaranteed signing money.
  14. Up to now you are correct. However, he was never in the position before with a number of higher value FAs most likely leaving, not to mention a high dollar one like Edmunds. There could be a change after the season. We shall see. What is weird is that earlier this season his market value was over $14M on Spotrac. Not sure why it dropped so much. I'm thinking Edmunds get over $15M per year on a 4-5 year contract.
  15. I kind of hope Beane and his boys take a look at G/T Andrew Wylie. He played pretty well for KC at G and his Market Value on Spotrac is a reasonable $4.6M. He can play RT if needed. A guy like this could be step one in building a better OL. At 28 he is just entering his prime as an OLineman.
  16. If/when Edmunds signs on another team it will be for big money. I don't see Beane signing any free agent anywhere close to that cost. There will be a lot of ex-Bills on other teams next year. Ergo: I see a 3rd round comp pick for Edmunds in 2024. I know it's not a lot, but it will be something.
  17. Poyer will most likely get a 3-year $30M contract even at his age from some team with a young secondary. He'd be a perfect fit for someone like the Bears. Big city will please the wife and so would the money!
  18. All of them are FAs and are not counted against this year's cap unless they sign new contracts. Bills are $20M over no matter what.
  19. Poyer, Edmunds, Phillips, Singletary and Jackson will all most likely not be in a Bills uniform next season. I can't see more than one of the above re-signed. Matakevich, Saffold, Keenum, Crowder and Klien all likely gone too. I can see Boettger, Martin, Johnson, Dodson getting re-signed. Lawson maybe too. I don't see more than 1 or 2 decent sized (no big money) FAs signed this year. I will have to hope for some decent round comp picks in 2024. Beane is going to need them.
  20. Not getting a long-term contract done last season gave me about a 50/50 shot of him staying. Now I think it's less than that. The cap is real, and it affects both sides. These young men have a lot to consider when it's their one big chance and this is Edmunds's time. What will be, will be.
  21. I took a break from the board for the most part. I do hope that is all he is doing. @YoloinOhiois one of the main reasons I frequent this board. Hope he is back for Free Agency.
  22. I was looking at him as a cheap guy who just may be worth a look. He has been an IR Injury nightmare in his first 3 seasons. He finally had a full season last year. With his history he should go for way less than $5M guaranteed and probably is only a 2 year signing.
  23. I can agree that signing Carr could be a smart move by the Fish, but would it be a smart move from Carr's vantage point? He will be in demand no matter what people think. He is just turning 32 and will want a 3 year $110M-$120M contract. March 13th starts to pre-FA negotiation period and I'm pretty sure Carr will want to sign on a team as the undisputed starter. This gives little time for Miami to figure out what to do with Tua. If Carr was smart, he will go to a team in the AFCS or NFCS.
  24. My hope is that there is a WR out there in a similar position as Juju Smith-Schuster was for KC. SB contender teams get first crack at guys like that. KC stole him this year for $3.76M. I do want an improved WR room, but the OL has to be priority one.
  25. 7 years with the first 4 years being in the neighborhood of $15M averaged per year with year 5 being the transition year is OK with me. Similar to Josh's contract it's fair for both sides and gives Beane the most flexibility.
