I'll say you are sticking to your guns.

You keep saying this and you don't listen to others giving the facts. I thought maybe you would want to check up on them. https://overthecap.com/the-basics-and-methodology-of-projecting-the-nfls-compensatory-draft-picks

Unfortunately, it's a first 2 day pick and some other vet minimum players and that's it for this year. That's just the reality. I know you are all-in on WR talent and while of course that is wanted, the OL has to improve. More time for Josh and having Dawson Knox able to get more free releases off the line could be a big difference in the offense. They got to get Knox's yardage up to 800 yards this year. He had a 74% catch rate, so I don't want to hear from fans he can't catch a ball. Add an incremental improvement to some of the depth WRs and you would have to admit it's a plan.

What would you trade for Jerry Jeudy?
ColoradoBills replied to RocCityRoller's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jeudy is a good WR for the Broncos and has some BAD QBs throwing him the ball. He had a lot of drops his first season, probably why the fans have that in their heads. He does always seem to have a nagging injury and giving up a 1st (or 2nd with a player) seems too much in my book for a guy who will be a 5th year option wanting to get big money next season. If he was a #15 overall pick for the Bills, a lot of people on this board would be calling his 750 yard, 3 TD per year play a bust. -
I agree with your post. Adding a WR in the first 2 days and another OL should give enough for Josh. I could see a possible TE later either with a later round pick or after the draft in FA. The rest can be MLB and D if they want. Beane will sign a big bodied RB after the draft. There will be guys like that available. I don't make an excuse, but injuries were brutal for the team, and they have to protect against that this year like you said.

ESPN+ is blacked out in the Buffalo home viewing area. i am betting that these regional sports networks will get into streaming packages. I got 2 brothers in Buffalo waiting for that to happen to go full streaming mode. General Streaming content comments: I give my buddy Sling Blue TV and gives me Netflix, Disney/Hulu/ESPN+, HBO Max, Paramount+. It's pretty much a wash cost wise for us. My TV cost is $45 a month (I add Orange for regular ESPN during football). I will have to get the NFL package that I was getting at a student discount, but I can live with that. Just a tip for those who don't know about Kanopy and Hoopla. They are free (without commercial) streaming services for anyone who has a library card. Some good movies/documentaries/classes that you get so many "checkouts" per month. Lots of movies on there that you have to rent from other streaming services. IF IT"S FREE, IT"S FOR ME!

That's exactly Mike Boone and Dare Ogunbowale money. Both of them are already on Houston and both on their last year with next to no dead money. Singletary is a much better back and will get more $s then those 2. Houston could free up $3M cutting those guys. Not that they have cap space issues, just saying. Actually, Dameon Pierce and Singletary would make a good combo attack. Devin will sign for more than $1.5M.
-
I have to believe that a WR is in the plans by Day 2 at the latest. I too would be disappointed if it wasn't.
-
Singletary is in Houston right now. We shall see.

I like how he told Maddy that he can play both inside out outside. I keep going back to having multiple players moving into the slot position all game long versus having one guy nailed to it. Puts a lot more pressure on that NCB in my mind.

Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
ColoradoBills replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, and I have said the same. The only way Josh doesn't get all of the money in his contract would be a career ending injury. Another key point any agent would be stressing. -
He most likely is signing for vet minimum or a bit over. He won't count against the comp formula. I think these are the type of UFA signings we see until after the draft. Beane kind of hinted at that in his presser. He said guys get cut after the draft and he will be looking for some to add.
-
He signed a one-year in SF 2021 for $920k and a one-year in MIA 2022 for $1.18M per Spotrac. I would expect something along the Miami $s.
-
Pretty much a yes on both points. I can see them bringing in one more vet minimum type guy for the outside to be camp competition. The rest going to camp will be the UDFA types most likely. I hope that guy after cutdown ends up on the PS. Need a guy or 2 to call up if needed who can do something. Last year's WR PS was pretty weak.

I'll repeat that the only thing that makes sense about the Bernard pick is if he gets on the field as some sort of answer to opposing teams TEs. It would mean a totally hybrid D but that is all I got. I have a slim hope that is one of the reasons McD is taking over the D this year.
-
It's so tough to count on a possible trade down, but if there was ever a year that Beane could swing it, this is that year.
-
I can only "internet" scout college players. He played some guard in the Senior Bowl too. He fits my drafted OL player to push Spencer and hopefully moves to RG for years if Spencer breaks out the way I think he will. I don't watch much college ball so that's all I got.
-
The only that would shock me is if McKenzie wasn't signed to another team. He's a backup slot guy at worse for a lot of teams.
-
Yes, Allen won't count as a CFA. I got to admit Kyle signed for a cheap deal. I really want him to work out as a backup. Backups have an important role even if they don't have to play. It would be great to get a guy who stays more than 1 year. This might be the guy.
-
Agree with both of you. One of the options I have been considering is drafting a player that could fill both needs. It's an NFL thing to draft college RTs who can transition into RG's. It seems to me to find a player that can push Spencer this year (with a chance of being a gem at RT) and then transitioning into a guard next season, if and when Morse leaving causing a disruption in the IOL Add to that both Bates and McGovern naturally play LG if one moves to C the RG is covered. I'm worthless at evaluating college players but does anyone have a player like that on their radar? If so who and what rounds?

If Neal is a lock, the only way that pencil has any lead in it, is if they keep 5 Safeties or Neal ends up as prime backup.
-
Thanks for the insight. I have said (even in this thread) that IF Neal was let go it, would be after the camp battle that I assumed would be between Neal and Anderson. My thoughts were if Anderson won it, it would be about $4M in cap savings. Maybe it's about Cam and Anderson? It was interesting though, that Beane just said Cam's best worth was backup NC behind Taron. In that case Anderson might not have a shot at the 53 and was signed as a backstop.

This confuses me because when the Bills signed him, I read this article about his proficient gunner qualities at BYU. Do the Chiefs have 2 gunners established above him which kept him off the field? Article excerpt: Showed very good speed and quickness at pro day. Adequate athleticism for coverage in space and experienced in multiple coverage schemes. His range, hustle and taking angles to the ball are good and he has the ability to support the run game from the single high safety role. On Special teams he is a gunner and covers kickoffs with high proficiency, and has a knack for forcing turnovers. https://arrowheadone.com/chiefs-udfa-focus-on-db-zayne-anderson/

I'm thinking the Zane Anderson signing, that got a lot of people scratching their heads, is his replacement. He fills the ST role and may bring more to the S position itself. Roster bonus aside, Neal could still go to camp and the decision put off until September.
