I don't think any. I see it this way as my hope is for 6 WRs on the 53.
Rankings heading into OTAs.
Diggs
David
Shakir (have to think initially it's Shakir above Harty. May need to be switched)
Harty
Sherfield
Rookie (Rookie moves up the rankings as he progresses)
He was behind Sony Mitchel, James White, Rex Burkhead and Brandon Bolden.
BB still drafted him in the 3rd and he was the leading rusher the next year.
BB uses a RB by committee approach, each with specific roles.
I agree players release and maybe a trade can happen before the draft. When it comes to Wagner, he just screams a 1-2 year contract
at his age. What we don't know is how many other teams (if any) are now looking for a guy like him. Every week that goes by lowers
his market price.
I can see Beane looking around for a trade. I have to admit to myself that when it comes to bigger UFAs before the draft I give it next to 0%.
When Beane was asked in his presser about a bigger bodied RB he did say that after the draft teams that pick up RBs will be looking to unload
some. I have no real worry that he can find a guy to acquire before OTAs. This guy is going to get less than 35% of the snaps so I don't see
him being that costly.
I never hated Devin at all. He's a good player and teammate. It's just the way the RB world is in the NFL.
When Cook got drafted I think his chances of another contract in Buffalo was highly diminished.
There is now also a chance that a couple of other Bills FAs maybe get 7th round comp pick on top of this.
Nothing to get too excited about, but worth mentioning.
That's it Bills fans. It is going to mean if Beane signs a big dollar UFA before the draft it costs a 3rd round pick next year.
I doubt strongly he gives that up. He's only going to sign vet minimum type guys to bring to camp to compete.
We can take a break from FA and look to the draft.
After the draft I see the RB signed.
I don't think Beane even knows who will be there at #27 worth the position of the pick.
That's my real worry.
He will no doubt try to trade back but if he can't it could be a tough situation.
What adds to the confusion is Miami only has 4 WRs who realistically are locks.
The cost for a WR#5 for Sherfield is puzzling.
The fish did have a 4th rounder last year, Erik Ezukanma, who had a total of 3 yards receiving and inactive for 16 games.
