I believe so, but it's hard to understand. It seems to me that if a player is cut it would depend on if his guaranteed money made him eligible.
-
That's what I have seen. Although he did get an ankle injury in his first playoff game in 2020 and was inactive the next game they lost. For anyone interested in his game logs. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/E/EdwaDa01/gamelog/

He was concussed last year. Other than that, he has been a healthy starter for the Rams all but 2 games his other 3 years.

I predict $1.7M one-year contract.

It seems to me Beane was quite aware of the situation and took advantage of it. Meanwhile, he can trade, sign UFAs that were cut from their original teams or are under the qualifying dollars. He also knows that immediately following the draft, all UFAs will no longer be considered under the formula. Once the dust settles, Beane has right around $10M in cap space and I don't see him adding to that unless some extraordinary options surface.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
ColoradoBills replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just going to talk about a trade (not Hopkins specific). NE would acquire a lot of players who were cap casualties. They'd give up 3rd through 6's for players and usually have comp picks in those years to offset the trades not hurting the draft.. Then they use the guys for a couple years and move on, acquiring more comp picks when they hit FA along with some of the guys they just let walk in FA. Us Bills fans complained for all those years about the "rich getting richer". I'm not saying it will happen this year with the Bills, but I can see rolling a pick or 2 in trades in the future acquiring guys on shorter contract lengths with no (or next to none) dead cap. It's not a bad strategy. I know I may get hammered for saying this, but I think it's better in a lot of instances than signing big money older player like Von, who demands a lot of dead cap and longer contracts. -
Most likely. Of course, if some guy is sticking out on their board Day 3, they should pick him. But that would go for more than just the DT position. The future of this team is going to be year to year, just like every other team with an expensive core already set.

Every week that goes by just makes me smile more over all this drama. Stick to your guns Green Bay.

Another $1.7M signing (or less) with little guaranteed is my guess. He'll go to camp and for all we know may end up on the PS. What's the problem.

Bills hosting/hosted David Edwards on visit

I didn't like Von's restructure either. Beane is pushing again this year and let's hope for some of that luck. Beane could still get out of Von's contract after 2024 if he did a post June cut. But I'm sure it's not preferable. Next year's cap and restructuring will be as tough or tougher than this year's. I know you see this year's draft as weak, but Beane has to hit on some guys. -

I can't approve any trade unless I see the PFF rating. Am I doing this right? -
Let's forget the Jets for a minute. The KC Chiefs have Valdez-Scantling as their WR1. Kadarius Toney as their WR2. Skyy Moore as their SWR. Currently, their WR4 is former 1st round (I guess we can call a bust so far, career 43% catch rate) John Ross who was cast off of the Giants. Would Bills fans be happy with that lot, as of now? I know, I know, they have a TE.

Bills hosting/hosted David Edwards on visit

Yep, the concussion thing is the real issue regarding his health. As for his play, he seems like an average NFL G (2022 injury year removed). If they can sign him cheap, he is good depth at worse. -

From everything I have read about Edwards health wise, this is what I found. In 2022 he suffered a concussion in the 3rd game of the season against Arizona. He was out the following week and then tried to come back the next week against Dallas but couldn't finish the game. He never played again during the season. Previous to that, after becoming a starter on the 7th game of his rookie year in 2019 he started every game but 2 (ankle) until his concussion in game #3 of 2022. It seems it's the concussion that is the huge concern, and nothing but that. Here is his career game logs: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/E/EdwaDa01/gamelog/ Another note from some of the articles I read was concerning the LA Rams line going into 2022. They already lost Austin Corbett to FA and where riddled with injuries throughout the year, right from the start. FWIW. -
I would think Cook get some more snaps overall. The good thing is they have different skills and that should influence their usage depending on the opponents' strengths and weaknesses. I feel Dorsey did not game plan that last year. My hope is he improves in that regard.

Thanks. I'm not saying PFF is all that, one way or the other, but good to know. In 2020 he had 90% of the O snaps, and in 2021 he had 100% of the snaps. Kind of puts the injury thing on 2022 in perspective. He played well enough in 2021 to get himself an "NFL Proven Performance Bonus" for 2022. Then got hurt. Thanks again for the info. -
There is no "argument" about that at all. With Cook and Hines on the roster signing another clone of them would be foolish. I couldn't dare to think Beane could sign Harris to a deal like this last month!

Do you have his PFF for 2021 when he was healthy? -

There's no place like TSW, there's no place like TSW, there's NO PLACE like TSW. They need a lot more camp bodies to go with the OL draft pick. You might get your wish.

Those posters that chronically do that are not seen by me, unless some of you other board members reply to them. The trolling is so hard on this board, it's like George Costanza saying, "The ocean called and they're running out of shrimp"!
-
Way to go Lil Dirty! I knew you would get picked up quick. Good Luck against the opposition except the Bills. Hope you signed for over $2M!
-
Just got home and seen Damien Harris's $s. Spotrac $7.1M. Beane signs him $1.7M. Someone got it backwards and it wasn't the wizard!

Offensive outlook post Free Agency
ColoradoBills replied to HaldimandBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is definitely room on the O for a WR, OL and TE in the draft. Adding let's say another OL would be "all in" in my opinion. Another "all in" would be the WR, OL and TE all in the first 4 picks even if the other 3 were D.
