Diggs, Davis, Shakir, Harty and Sherfield are all most likely locks. Unless they go with 7 WRs, drafting 2 is unlikely. General WR comments: I can't see a "slot only" WR drafted (especially higher rounds). Just doesn't make sense with Harty and Shakir penciled in for that. Add that Diggs lines up in the slot a decent amount of the time and Sherfield able to do that, it just seems not to be in the cards this year. As much as some fans don't want to hear it, Davis is the WR2 until his is displaced. So, in my amateur football knowledge drafting a future WR2 (mainly outside, with a deep threat possibility) somewhere Day 2 seems to be the smart move for this season. Jonathan Mingo seems to be a possibility. I would also like to hear what players fit the bill in the 4th round. Appreciate anyone with comments on that.

That is cap hit, not contract money. His restructure(s) are going to make the yearly cap hits all over the place.

Mama Hurts got Jalen a good deal. Josh is at $43M.

Josh Britt unverified Breakup rumour

Evidently watching some of Harty's highlights he does line up outside and actually has some good moves there. I'm sure he will push to play slot primarily, but thought I'd mention that. One possibility I have entertained, is that the Bills go with multiple players in the slot. Diggs, Harty, Shakir and Sherfield all could take snaps there. That could cause a bigger rotation on the outside too. That brings me back to getting a outside WR in the draft (even though it seems to be slim pickings). Probably not the 1st round then. I don't know if there is a talent fit in the 2nd or 3rd they could be looking at.

Taking Josh out of the equation, the 2 positions on offense that can derail the 2023 season are OT and WR IMO. An injury to Dawkins along with the same play from Spencer Brown would be very, very bad. If Doyle and Q end up playing significant time, I pity Josh. If Diggs was to miss a lot of games the same can be said for the WR room. Draft a WR and OT with 2 of the 1st 3 picks.

My hope is Kim will be well enough to attend the Super Bowl Parade in downtown Buffalo next February! Keep getting better.

Bills sign offensive linemen Kevin Jarvis
ColoradoBills replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Per Kevin Jarvis's Pro Football Reference page: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JarvKe00.htm Is Kevin Jarvis in the Hall of Fame? Kevin Jarvis has not been elected into the Hall of Fame. -
So, it's $21 per week if you are not a YouTube subscriber and you do the early bird special Of course, not counting National games. I can live with that. I just have to decide if I want to capture the savings going to YouTube TV and ditching Sling. I got a month or so to make up my mind. Does anyone know if you get a discount if you sign up for (YouTube TV and the NFL package) on YouTube Premium add free service?

I really don't mind if you sit this one out.

I was ready to be pissed until I saw it's just another "Git-er-Dun" thread.

Jordan Phillips back with Bills 1 year deal
ColoradoBills replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
$2.79M in Spotrac. $200K-3 sacks, $600k-5sacks, $850k-8 sacks incentives. Looks OK to me. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/jordan-phillips-16776/ -
I like the signing for 2 reasons. 1. Shaq performed well last year at depth rotation. 2. I do think now that no top picks go to the DL THIS year.

Yes. 1 year reported at $3M with some incentives. Still waiting on the details.

Brandon Beane Set To Double Down on 2022’s Big Disappointments
ColoradoBills replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Like I'm saying, if Bates is penciled in as future C, then I would like to see him get a lot more work this summer at the position. Maybe Edwards spells him a lot as 1st team RG (I'm assuming Bates is still at RG). That would make me happy. -
Brandon Beane Set To Double Down on 2022’s Big Disappointments
ColoradoBills replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
A good draft is definitely needed. I know a lot of fans want that big signing to put them over the top. It most likely is not happening. That being said, I don't see how that necessarily has to be true. Last season was a bit crazy and like Jordan Poyer said in his welcome back presser when asked the question, "What pieces do the Bills need to get it done", his reply was "finish". A whole lot of little things done better this year compared to last could do it in my opinion. I'm holding on to that hope. -
Brandon Beane Set To Double Down on 2022’s Big Disappointments
ColoradoBills replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bates has filled in about a half dozen times for Morse in his career. He's done pretty good as a backup. He is trained to be an OG during his NFL time not a C. I personally don't see how anyone can assume he is as good or better than Morse if he is assigned the spot permanently. It seems to me that keeping him as an OG and a backup C is wise. I'd rather see a C drafted that has spent his college career doing the job. If he is the heir apparent, then I would like to see him get a lot more snaps at the position this training camp. I would like to know what Beane thinks about the future of the position. -

Fair enough on your e v a l of Morse. Then my point holds even more water. Beane needs to get a good replacement for him when he is done. The thing is, none of us know when that need will be. With his history it could be at any time. -
Cam Newton open to backing up Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen

ColoradoBills replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wow Alpha, you're a very good poster with a lot of good insight but I invite you to re-read your post. It is completely backwards to what a team wants from a backup QB. You end your Cam post with, "but the real question is whether or not his arm is dead". Let me ask you this. Let's say for the sake of argument, that Cam can still run the way he did in 2016. I say he can't, but let's say some fans say he can. Is this the QB you want to bring to camp for the 2nd team? I can't think of a QB less qualified to help the Bills 2nd team offense during camp than Cam. I say this because his arm IS DEAD. Don't waste time with an old washed-up former MVP QB. -
Brandon Beane Set To Double Down on 2022’s Big Disappointments
ColoradoBills replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't know many Bills fans portraying Mitch Morse as anything more than a tick above a good NFL Center. His replacement IMO is NOT a backup like Bates. Next season a top Center is needed to be drafted. I don't know what you're trying to get at other than that OBD is lacking in judgement. I may be wrong in that, but that's how your post reads to me. The 2023 overall draft is not going to be determined as to what the 1st round pick is going to be by position. It will be, IMO, what the overall picks are chosen. It's a weak draft and the 1st round pick is a risk at best. -
Brandon Beane Set To Double Down on 2022’s Big Disappointments
ColoradoBills replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Couldn't agree more with you. The only thing I'll add is they need to do it now as next year a Center will be needed to be drafted most likely. Josh deserves a solid center. I have no problem with Bates as backup, but I'd much rather see a full-time college center taking over from Morse. There's a lot that goes on between the ears at that position and I don't want any hopeful quick fixes.
