  1. I tend to agree. It is true Beane could move the cap hit around this year to sign DHop. The issue becomes next season. Your numbers are correct (add $4M or so for Bass's cap hit) but that is realistically for only 35 or so players with a lot of UFAs who need to be re-signed or replaced. I would be shocked if it happened and would show Beane is all in this season with a pretty good reset for 2024. I just don't see that as the plan.
  2. Like it or not, gambling is becoming engrained in our society lately. If this is going to be needed as a "right" by players, then the NFLPA needs to address it in the next contract talks. In the meantime, the rules are the rules, and the players know them. When they sign their contracts to play in the NFL they agree to the rules.
  3. My expectations for the Bills are playing in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. It's one game away from the AFCCG. Winning the AFCCG against another outstanding team is not an easy task. It can come down to a handful of plays that decide the game. It's all I can ask for. I will once again quote Jordan Poyer in his "welcome back to Buffalo" presser. When asked what the team needs to accomplish its goal (Superbowl), Jordan's answer was "Finish".
  4. You kind of gave yourself the answer concerning Bass's rankings. He kicks in Buffalo and the AFCE. Lots of other kickers pad their numbers kicking in domes and warm weather stadiums. Tyler's contract extension is a fair deal for both sides IMO.
  5. Calling the plays on D means (whoever is doing it) that they know what personnel to counter the offensive personnel in the game. That's the whole reason for calling plays. As to challenges, those should be looked at from assigned personnel up in the booth. As a matter of fact, I don't like coaches on the sidelines making the challenge calls at all. They have the worse vision to see what happened (unless it happens right in front of them). Us fans have better evidence then they do. As to TOs called on D, McDermott will just do what he is always doing if the D isn't ready. It's already been shown over and over that numerous NFL Head Coaches call plays for either the O or D. McDermott will have the headset on and others can chime in if they see something he needs to know. I got no problem with this change.
  6. LOL. So much for all the posters criticizing McDermott and Beane for saying the same thing. Josh is getting older in football years and needs to adjust his game slightly. He will have to adjust more in the future. This is good news to my ears!
  7. I find it interesting that the "early bird" discounts are up June 6th (just over 6 weeks away), and no advertisement is on streaming or cable TV services. Because of this board I have told friends about it because most didn't even know the pricing options. Going to be a lot of fans shocked when they have to pay $489.00 for NFL Package with Redzone starting June 7th. I personally am running out of time deciding if I dump Sling and go to YTTV or just by the package alone. You can actually do that? I have Sling Blue for the year and have added the Orange (for ESPN) during the NFL season. I got ESPN+ from a friend for Hockey and other sports. I had no idea you could switch just for the day to get ESPN. You have done this, and it works?
  8. Not charging the exorbitant prices to go see a game is a start. Back when Rich Stadium was built my dad could work overtime on a Saturday and make enough to buy 4 tickets, parking and food and drinks for a Bills game. He was a factory worker. What's that going to cost (work hour wise) to do the same at the new stadium? It's my opinion that the NFL and NFLPA better be wary of pricing out their customers.
  9. Just trying to counter some of the cynicism that is prevailing on the board recently and having a chuckle doing it. It's all good.
  10. I can't even fathom a guess. I'm sure it would amuse me in some way as yet unimagined.
  11. Von has a presser saying he is feels great and positive I can go early in the season. TSW response, "hated the signing" and he's ready for the glue factory. LOL, this place cracks me up.
  12. This board is getting pretty sour about anything Bills related, not just Josh. I got to admit it's getting harder to come on here and unfortunately, I think it's only going to get worse.
  13. It's nice to hear good news!
  14. Come on, I'm comparing an avid Buffalo sports fan (both hockey and football) and all the times we have watched the Pegula's interact with the community and all of the interviews and press conference compared to a couple of national football guys. I disagree with your assumption these 2 guys know him better than the Buffalo community. As to the "public persona", I don't think every time Terry has tears in his eyes it's an act.
  15. Once again, I agree. The trajectory of both the owners and players compensation needs to level out. If it doesn't, what you say is correct.
  16. I am of the opinion that the only reason of this "speculation" is Kim's health. I would like to mention that these guys don't know Terry Pegula the way Bills fans do. Terry is an emotional guy. He would NEVER sell the Bills while Kim was alive. I would go so far as to say he wouldn't even if "god forbid" the worse happened. He would honor her memory. Terry may not work the day to day, but he would hire someone to do it if it was too painful for him. I firmly believe this.
  17. That is a distinct possibility. I don't think Josh will be one of them.
  18. If the Jalen Hurts contract doesn't make Lamar move a bit in his "demands", he is a fool. He is missing out on building a financial foundation that will cost him millions in the long run. Josh Allen will be a much richer man in all likelihood, in the end.
  19. First, you posted that Josh would want to "redo" his contract in 2 years. He is in the 1st year of his 6-year contract in 2023. If all goes well Josh will be "extending" his contract most likely in spring of 2027. BUT, when he does it will not negate the contract he is already signed for. I would guess with the way things are going his extension will be in the high 60's range. IF Josh Allen is moaning and groaning for more money in 2 years, it will most likely mean he would want out of Buffalo. I don't see that happening.
  20. Diggs, Davis, Shakir, Harty and Sherfield are all most likely locks. Unless they go with 7 WRs, drafting 2 is unlikely. General WR comments: I can't see a "slot only" WR drafted (especially higher rounds). Just doesn't make sense with Harty and Shakir penciled in for that. Add that Diggs lines up in the slot a decent amount of the time and Sherfield able to do that, it just seems not to be in the cards this year. As much as some fans don't want to hear it, Davis is the WR2 until his is displaced. So, in my amateur football knowledge drafting a future WR2 (mainly outside, with a deep threat possibility) somewhere Day 2 seems to be the smart move for this season. Jonathan Mingo seems to be a possibility. I would also like to hear what players fit the bill in the 4th round. Appreciate anyone with comments on that.
  21. That is cap hit, not contract money. His restructure(s) are going to make the yearly cap hits all over the place.
  22. Mama Hurts got Jalen a good deal. Josh is at $43M.
