Bills release first official depth chart of 2023
ColoradoBills replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall
First, the 3 camp battles for RG, MLB and CB2 is no surprise and I like that there is competition. I foresee Torrence getting the RG spot to start the season or soon after. Having Sherfield as Diggs backup is what I wanted. He'll get a decent number of snaps just spelling Diggs along with multiple WR snaps. He will come in way before Shorter. It also puts to bed some fans thinking he is in the SWR battle. Cam Lewis as the depth NCB pushes Siran Neal farther down. Not sure how that does not make the "possibility" of a cap casualty not in the mix. $3.3M for a ST gunner that far down the position list is a puzzlement IF some of these other new acquisitions can man the post. Tough to do at this time of year but there is a possibility of a trade if Beane wants to do that with a couple of players. It's the first depth chart so I could see some movement as the preseason continues. -
Plenty, if you look at contributors as getting 200-500 yards a season with a high catch rate that pick up some TDs and 1st downs. Typically, those catches are down the progression line and if the catch rate is high, it results in sustained scoring drives. These low target guys have to perform well when the ball is thrown to them. That has been missing with the Bills.

Every year there are a number of teams that don't even have a decent QB1 let alone quality backups. The few quality QBs that have accepted the role of backup don't come cheap. It's a dice role when these guys are called up. Kyle Allen needs to put on his big boy pants and get his head right. It's one of the few things I want to watch in the preseason.

To start, it would be nice to see Sherfield take all the snaps that Diggs sits out on. Diggs does pull himself a lot in games. Lined up with Gabe, it will show if he can do his job without an elite WR opposite of him. Add those snaps to breaks for Kincaid and 3 WR sets, and he could put up some decent numbers. I know some fans will disagree, but I'm feeling pretty good so far about the pass catchers Josh has this season.

I hate that you made me find this on google. LOL. https://www.wapl.com/2023/05/01/parody-song-aaron-and-the-jets-audio/ Just a few lyrics. Oh but he was weird and colorful Went as Nic Cage on Halloween He even gave up meat, went on darkness retreats. But now he’s given up the gold and green, oh A-a-a Aaron and the Jets

"When I put on the pads...... it's time to get violent." LF may have the personality to push this DL into a tougher mode. Well, that's my wish starting with Aaron and the Jets.

Allen's Elbow Still an Issue?

It's gone gammy. -
Two week training camp predictions
ColoradoBills replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe Boogie's fit would be best as a DE in a 3-4 D? -
I was in error on my comment in another thread. PUP is only 4 weeks mandatory to start the season for Von not 6. I still think Von should take September off.

I'm still hopeful for improvement.

THANKS for 25 years of the Stadium Wall, TBD!

I was one of the "displaced" Bills fans after the closing of BBMB. If I knew this place existed, I would have "defected" years earlier. -
What team has the best NFL message board in the world?
ColoradoBills replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nope. Don't forget the other side of that coin. EVERYONE SUCKS. -
Heard a lot last season that Spencer has a pretty good run blocking game. A good threat of the running game will help the passing game too.

This board is the best except for GDTs! LOL. -
He also would take a $323k dead cap hit if cut. He makes the team unless he plays extremely poorly through the camp/preseason. It's those 6 and the real battle is for PS spots.

It's all about Von and the PUP status. I can't see Von being ready for the Jets. So, when is he realistically expected to be back? The only other game I'd like to see him in for during the first 6 weeks is the Miami game in Week 4. The early schedule is set up pretty good to let him recover fully. I say keep Von on PUP for 6 weeks and get him 100%. Keeping the other 10 gives flexibility against injury and a decision can be made then. Who knows after 6 weeks what team could be hurting on DL and the possible trade value could increase.

Not in my courtroom.

Is Matt Barkley a better fit than Kyle Allen in this offense?
ColoradoBills replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I had hopes that Kyle Allen could secure a backup role not only for this year but for future years. It has been reported that he is struggling. I'm going to watch the preseason games and see if he can produce before making any final decision on him. -
His jobs went from Asst Secondary coach to Safety coach now to LB coach. He seems to be getting groomed in my mind. If I compare him to the other D coaches, he seems the strongest candidate for DC if McDermott stay in-house. if it did happen, only time would tell if he excelled. I do like to listen to him in his pressers. I like his knowledge, passion and straight forwardness.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least to see Babich take over the DC position in the near future.

Alvin Kamara suspended 3 games by the league.
ColoradoBills replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's a shame.
