  1. He has a void year in his contract so some of the dead cap would carry over next year.
  2. Currently 5 WRs are locks with Shorter as #6. The path for Andy Isabella making the team is for him to look great at KRs AND playing very well at WR. If that happens then Isabella would need to dress on Sundays for his KR spot. That means Shorter would sit often (red shirted). Without a mysterious injury to Shorter to start the season, I see the chances of Isabella making the squad currently as under 50%. Let's keep an eye on him the next 2 weeks (starting in a few hours). OT: I understand Gilliams's usefulness in his past role BUT in my mind, there is a chance he could be cut. Knox has lined up often in the backfield this camp and with the other youngsters having ST skills, I don't have him as a lock. I do think he probably makes the team. Quintin Morris played a lot of ST last year too, so there could be some overlap in skills. I know how much ST's are favored with this staff BUT I can see a chance of one of the big 3 (Gilliam, Matakevich and Neal) being let go. Once again, probably not, but it wouldn't surprise me.
  3. Your 53 is pretty much what I see. Shorter is the only "unknown". Isabella has a chance to take it over in the next 3 weeks but probably not. Kyle Allen will have to play really bad in both the remaining games to get cut. Cam Lewis has a slight chance still but that would mean a Siran Neal cut, and I don't see that happening either. I foolishly threw out my 16 "hopeful" to make it to the PS. Of course, the PS will cycle through others as time goes by.
  4. Come on, what are you doing? Sure, there are homers on this board. There are also trolls. There are all kinds of people with different opinions and agenda's posting all the time. I try to be open to opinions and will admit I "lean" toward be a "homer" fan at times but I try to enjoy this place for what it is. As to all this back and forth on the MLB position. It's could have some real growing pain during the season BUT whoever gets the nod will also have a whole lot of tackles and maybe even do some things that Edmunds didn't do well. Maybe a couple of extra INTs or FFs. If it's Dodson, he might get some sacks and maybe be a little better against the run. Then again, who really knows. These are top notch athletes licking their chops to be given a chance. Nothing will be known until the real bullets fly. Maybe Beane and McDermott will regret their decisions, maybe we will see something better in the long run. It's still 3 and a half weeks away but I'm really looking forward to the season. Hang in there and let everyone be a fan. I try to remind myself of that every time I log on this site. Go Bills.
  5. He has to feed his family. Still think its "not a big deal?"
  6. RJ's final sign-off. It's a celebration.
  7. Thank you, RJ. WE are not worthy! You will always be the voice of the Sabres.
  8. I bolded your statement about no one else being brought in.
  9. Totally agree with your bolded point.
  10. You're a youngster. Like a sophomore when I was a senior. LOL.
  11. I can't speak for Shaw's comment but maybe what McDermott wants now is along the lines of what I'm saying.
  12. A lighter faster MLB would be better fitted for the passing game. So, it's all about a perceived deficit in the run game D. Having some stout DTs, in my mind, would lessen that effect.
  13. I'm beginning to wonder if the prototypical 6'2" #245 MLB is needed in today's modern NFL.
  14. My Dad and I were so amazed when we went to our first game there that season. It was so "modern" and just crazy nice compared to the "rockpile".
  15. Agree. McDermott said he has concern over "leadership and communication". Neither of those are "physical" traits. Fans need to give this a little more time. I want to see how Dodson reacts to all of this.
  16. Having Josh take some snaps from under center and handing the ball off is ok in my book.
  17. Thanks for the info. I got a niece and nephew both starting college and live back in Buffalo. I'm going to check into this.
  18. I agree. None of us knows for sure what McDs plans are this season. I'm looking at it this way. In the modern NFL the DLs number one priority is pass rushing. You hope they are strong against the run too. The normal secondary (starting 2 CBs and 2 Ss) have a defined role. The only "wildcard" in player personnel are the other 3 players. I'm going to wait to see how McD uses those players specifically against each type of offense they face. I have a feeling that's what's up Sean's sleeve and Bobby Babich's presser only strengthens that feeling. I realize this is a departure from McDs past but that is the other reason I believe he wanted to take over the DC role this year. Only time will tell what exactly is going on.
  19. Great write up Gunner. First, I have to comment on McDermott and the DC role. I liked the D look. I liked the added aggressiveness. I know it will cause some big plays against the D and adds pressure for the secondary but I like the overall approach. The run D looked very good. Looking forward to the next 2 preseason games to see what is called. Kyle Allen has disappointed me so far. I was pretty confident that his play on a team with this type of organization would have helped him. Doesn't seem to be going the way I hoped. It will be interesting who starts with the 2's after Josh has his snaps next game. I get the feeling it will still be Kyle, but he has to perform like he knows what he's doing. This week of practice and the game this weekend should give us a pretty good idea how the competition spots are going. Overall, it was a good preseason game for the Bills. They used the game the way it is designed to be used. Go Bills.
  20. Fun game with a lot to think about for the coaches.
  21. He's borderline between the 53 and PS.
  22. Ankou has made millions in the NFL. He's no shoe clerk.
