I mentioned it again today. They lost more than Jones. Without pressure from the DL their secondary could be questionable.

Joe Burrow's new deal could get done before kickoff
ColoradoBills replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
'It's impossible to pay everybody". We know that. But after Burrows, who you going to "not" pay? That's the question. -
Mahomes and the Chiefs start the opening week of 2023 and the Bills and Allen end the week. If you are a fan of football, that's a pretty good schedule.

Wins and losses are the only stat that matters. If I had to choose the next it's Points For and Points Against.

Interesting Buffalo News article on Dawkins
ColoradoBills replied to Toledo Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Much easier to put him in the pillory. I don't get it, but the hate is marrow deep around here since the Bengals game. I get it, it was a bad game for the Bills. But it's a start to a new season. At the very least wait for the 1st game to be played. -
The Bills play 10 games this season against these "playoff" teams. It should be the "screensaver" on their iPads!

Interesting Buffalo News article on Dawkins
ColoradoBills replied to Toledo Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, if I get Dion's story right, he put on a lot of "comfort weight" in February and March. What happened at the end of January to make him need that comfort? Could it be a little depression after a bad ending to a stressful season? These guys are humans with the same feelings as anyone else. I'm sure in retrospect Dawkins wishes it didn't happen, but it did. As to his captaincy, maybe he needed to concentrate on himself more this season. I'll leave that to his teammates in the locker room. He evidently had to work hard to correct his weight, and he did. I guess I'm just glad he righted the ship. I'm not buying any tar and feathers yet. -
I'm loving it. I can't wait for the NY Post's Tuesday's headliner describing the Bills 17-point victory. NY media giveth..........................

Kelce is game time decision and Jones is out. The Chiefs also have had a pretty good turnover in players which hasn't been talked about too much. On paper they have replaced the losses but it's going to come down to how well/fast the new guys fit in. Chiefs starting DL and the DL depth is going to be interesting to watch how they play together and MVS, Moore and Toney got some pressure on them to prove they're a threat. Chiefs do have some depth at TE with Gray and Bell. Could be a high scoring game if the KC D is not allowed to hang on to jerseys. Go Lions!

Is this Bills team better than the 2020/2021/2022 versions?
ColoradoBills replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Changes have been made and some look good. It's a new season and as a fan you have to have hope they all work out. It could be the best team fielded in this regime. All the offseason prognostications don't mean squat because when it comes down to it, it's all about playing the games. I too am excited for the new season! -
I figured by now they would have split the difference. Don't know what this will end up being and how it affects Hines next season.

Bernard, Torrence and Benford all officially starters
ColoradoBills replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm going to say this when it comes to the MLB. Bills had to plan on Edmunds most likely leaving. So what happened. Drafted what is considered undersized LBs. Had open competition with the lighter guys. They let a heavy LB go in Klien. They acquired Kirksey who is typical in size for MLB. My speculation (and that's all any of us are doing right now) is that Beane and McDermott made a conscious decision to go lighter. The summer left Spector on IR, Bernard banged up and Dotson looking ill-suited for the job, Kirksey on the PS has to be insurance and a perceived upgrade from Klien. Bernard gets the call because the whole summer the scheme is to be lighter at MLB. We don't know what changes the D has in store for us this season, but McDermott is evidently sticking with his plan. If it fails, we most likely see Kirksey soon. -
He is talking about how much they would have if Beane made every move possible today. It's not going to happen. Beane will make another small move when he needs more money during the season.

Looks like after all the dust settled Beane has $527k left per Spotrac. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/

We could always argue whose dad can beat up who. Joe Burrow can't tell me what to do, he's not my real dad!

Nick Bosa signs - 5 years, $170 Million
ColoradoBills replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I remember when Rich Stadium opened my dad (worked at Westinghouse as a lathe operator) would work overtime on a Saturday to make more than enough money for him and me to go to 2 games including parking. We brought food and drinks (you could do that back then). I wonder how many hours the "average" worker has to work to do that today for the average NFL ticket/parking/food cost? -
Thanks for staying on topic Augie. LOL. Mike Brown and Davis are by far the poorest (less than $1B) owners in the league. In the Bengals situation it would be hard for a rich owner to have his GM sign all these guys just because of future cap concerns. With poorer owners (others have called Brown as a cash-to-cap owner) and that's pretty accurate, it's got to be way tougher. You're totally right about the escrow accounts. Owners have to move $100Ms of dollars into escrow when these guys sign contract. I'm sure the owners make money on the account, but it ties up a lot of owner cash. With all the big-name Bengal player to be signed, I find it hard to believe Brown will be able to do it. No knock on him, it's just the way it is. It's something people will be watching come spring.

YouTube TV - NFL Sunday Ticket question
ColoradoBills replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't know. I show all the Sunday games. Like others said, This Sunday we'll all know what the heck is going on. -
Yep. I listed him because next season would likely be the time to do that. I don't think they want to have him wait on the 5th year to extend. Then again, it's the Bengals and Mike Brown has a history.

Spotrac had his Market Value at $54M per year which would make him highest paid in the league. Hebert $52.5M They also have the following for next year's Bengal UFAs. Higgins - $22.7M Reader - $16M Boyd - $15.2M Williams - 14.9M Smith - $10.3M Chase currently at $24.9M Somethings got to give.
