  1. He is under contract through the 2028 season. This is only year 2 of his 6-year extension. The average would be signing his next after the 2026 season.
  2. VPG cross-training to OG is wise. Although, he was drafted with the "hope" he is the Bills starting C for years to come. This season pertaining to @Sierra Foothillsreply about the "best 5" starting, I think it comes down to how well McGovern and Edwards at C/LG perform compared to VPG and McGovern. It could come down to McGovern not performing as well as Morse at C and Edwards not performing as well as McGovern, and that being less than a rookie at C with McGovern at his main position. It will be a point discussed during camp.
  3. I'm going to do something crazy and wait at least until training camp to see what Davis can bring and what his draft worth may or may not be. Crazy!
  4. It's way of the world throughout history. If there was internet during Vespasian's rule in Rome, people would be tweeting that about the building of the Colosseum. My only point was the stadium, and a bridge will cost the same.
  5. Seems pretty reasonable to me.
  6. I may have missed it, but I did not hear that McGovern desired to become the C. I took it that the Bills slotted him there. He didn't need a "chance" to be the 1st string LG.
  7. It will be a competition. I would even bet that Connor will be rooting for the kid to do well so he can go back to LG. I have to imagine Connor is a bit nervous about having to move to a position he has limited exposure to. It could affect his next contract (which ends next year) if he underperforms.
  8. McGovern (after I checked) has had about 100 snaps at Center. That's less than 2 full NFL games. I can't find any info on how well he did in those limited snaps. Having him move from LG to C is a question mark to begin with IMO. None of us even know how good will be there. The more I look at this, the more I think they will give VPG every chance to take the starting position.
  9. VPG should start camp taking almost all the 2nd team Center snaps for Trubisky. Mitchell can help Sedrick a lot with what an NFL Center needs to do. Giving him some OG snaps with the 2s is fine but if he is looking decent with the 2s at Center then he should be getting some C snaps with the 1s as soon as possible. If he isn't excelling at C with the 2s as much as they hoped for then he would need more snaps at OG. With 44 starts on a highly talented college team, he should be able to come along at C pretty quickly.
  10. Just looked up Bass's splits. He is 17 of 17 in domes/retractable roof stadiums. 82% outdoors. FWIW.
  11. Shakir will get a full season of use and his per game usage will increase from last year. This is just a fact. What he does with those targets will determine how much of an increase he will see. I expect him to do well this season.
  12. Beane restructured most of Josh's cap hit. You can't do it all every year. Bills are not unique doing this. The Chiefs and Rams are not taking out all the money from their QBs either.
  13. Johnson signed a $1.15M contract with $667k guaranteed. Cutting him and keeping Gore would cost more than just keeping Ty. I see it's Johnson's job to lose the RB3 role. I see Ty on the team this year and Gore to the PS if he is looking ok. Gore has to show something on special teams if he wants a job this or next year.
  14. The barge that ran into the Baltimore bridge about a month ago is going to cost $1.7B-$1.9B before any cost overrides and take 4 years. That's for a bridge. The infrastructure of a stadium is a lot more. https://www.wbaltv.com/article/key-bridge-collapse-rebuild-bridge-process-baltimore/60721790#:~:text=the procurement process.-,ALSO%3A Maryland plans to rebuild the Key Bridge in just,%241.7 billion and %241.9 billion.
  15. IMO, Beane has to be looking around to sign another CB after June 1st. Elam stays even if that happens.
  16. 90 players currently signed. With the international player that leaves 1 spot left before any musical chairs start. Spotrac is caught up with the UDFAs and only the rookies left to account for. I figure around $1.7M of Top 51 cap to sign the rookies. Spotrac has Bills at $2.98M minus the $1.7M leaves about $1.28M before the Tre money gets released June 1st. Gives Beane enough to sign 1-2 cheap FAs with enough left over for PS and season cash. All in all, Beane did OK with his cap so far considering all the changes. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/_/year/2024 https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cba/rookie-scale
  17. During Tommy Sherman's Buffalo Bills career, he had a 100% completion record and a 50% TD%.
  18. We drove in the snow to the airport to greet the Bills after the Boston Patriot game that put them in the playoff in '64. That was nuts. The Bills moved the flight to Rochester. Fans were running around on the tarmac.
  19. Moments like this is not all on the coaches. Morse and Allen could have adjusted the blocking scheme. I'd like Josh to take charge more of things like this. He's a willy vet now.
  20. That is the first game I can remember as a kid. My parents and older brothers were fixed around the radio. The start of the 1964 season, I was hooked.
  21. He was incorrect. If they get a 4th and 5th it would be: 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6.
  22. The thing is Morrow was signed early in the year. These signing typically have to have some sort of guaranteed money. Bills had no idea if they would have picks for a guy like Ulofoshino. Jones on a vet minimum with no guarantee is a no-brainer but once again, he wasn't on the team at the time of the Morrow signing. Morrow still can make the team when Ulofoshino ends up on IR with bunions. The way I see it there is going to be some fierce competition for the depth LB spots after Milano, Bernard, Williams. Spector (with his ST play) probably is penciled in, but camp will decide that for sure.
  23. Enjoy watching these Embedded Draft videos every year. That being said, just like the swallows returning to San Juan Capistrano we also get the return of the yearly Beane vs McDermott power struggle, Beane got fleeced on his trade, Beane is lying about how much he like a player, among the other classic draft nuggets. I do like this year's new twist on the "Beane doesn't have a clue on the importance of the 5th Year Option". It was a nice change of pace. Can't wait for next year's draft video! My favorite part was when Beane replied to Laura Pegula's question about who they were going to pick with, "We're just going to keep on trading. We're going to get fourteen 5ths". That was gold Jerry, gold!
  24. I too agree with Brady and the OL. VPG has had a lot of college starts. Also sounds like he is a pretty smart football player. If he can start and not be a liability, having McGovern back at LG could really benefit him and fast-track his development. Having Torrence going into his 2nd year should anchor him with Brown better. That would mean Knox (when playing) can help with blocking but release quicker and more often into his passing routes. Sounds like Davis is pretty good at pass blocking. If all these things can come together Josh could have cleaner pockets to play from. I've been waiting for the day Josh can stay calm in the pocket for a little longer. I think once he gets use to that he will be deadly.
