Need the DT with the 1st pick. Also need secondary. They are not going to get a premier DE in the draft anyway. At least that's how it's starting to look to me.

I would consider Floyd WAY BEFORE thinking of a Von return. 1 year fully guaranteed $8M?

Josh Allen gets record contract extension $330 million
ColoradoBills replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
We won't see this until tomorrow evening or Thursday morning unfortunately. -
It is my hope. Then they say, "If I can't get the money, get me to Buffalo with Josh Allen!".
-
Agree you can't push every player out. The biggest question I have is how Josh's new contract will be handled. So many (most) new QB contracts for franchise guys have a ton of money pushed out to the end and even past the contract years. That opens up a lot of money. I have typically been conservative with the cap (kind of like Beane) BUT I think it's time to do it. Worry about the consequences when Josh is on the downside of his 30s.

I'm sorry. I'll try to be a better fan.

Some of us do. My point is only 1 day has gone by.

I probably should have posted this here. Let's see what some of the other true AFC competition has done. Ravens: Have not signed a FA. They did lose a number of players to FA. Chiefs: Jaylon Moore and Elijah Mitchell. Bengals: Tedarrell Slayton, Oren Burkes, Semaje Perine. Let's give all this a little more time.

Imagine that! LOL. Panthers/Jags Super Bowl this year! Context escapes a lot of fans.

Now will they still extend Benford or Cook?
ColoradoBills replied to BobbyC81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cook is under a rookie contract to play this year. I don't think he will "hold out". It hurts him way more than it would the Bills. Beane and his boys have to have a clue as to what Cook and his agent are thinking. They could also let him know they want a new contract, but they won't tag him next year. If they have any real concerns that he would hold out, draft another RB and re-sign Johnson for what he wants. -
It seems to me that there are fans who just won't accept the fact that Beane is not signing a Metcalf type at $33M AAV. Instead, it's $13M for Shakir, $8M for Samuel and $12M for Palmer (or a little less). Which happens to come to $33M, same as Metcalf.

I do think the is a good chance they re-sign Gilliam. But I guess there is a chance they let that position go for an extra TE/WR. I wouldn't mind that is they use TEs as FBs.

Mack Hollins signs with Patriots
ColoradoBills replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good points on the injuries of the WRs. Even so, it seems to me you want your skill players to have a better numbers than what his were. He was good at blocking (also good to hear that Palmer is a decent down field blocker). I just see Coleman, Samuel, Palmer and I suspect a speedy rookie getting more of the snaps. I have nothing bad to say about Hollins, just think he is not needed anymore. -

But he took more offensive snaps than any other WR/TE/RB. With that many opportunities he had some plays. Bills need other guys to take over those snaps. I don't think the Bills were considering bringing him back. I wish him luck and enjoyed him on the team but it's time for something different this year IMO. -
He's like 34. If the Bills still want a FB they should look to get a lot younger than that.

Mack led the Bills for offensive playmaker snaps. He did some good stuff, but those snaps will be going to other guys this year. That's OK with me. -
If Josh thinks it's the right move, YES.

He is going to be a 00 spy for the Bills. -
I think his 2023 potential is why some teams were seriously looking at him. As for 2024 it's obvious that he is not in their plans after the HC/OC change.

If Palmer stays healthy and manages 75ish targets, 50ish receptions, 676-700 yards his 1st season with Josh, I think it would be a win. I would like to see him get into the endzone a little more. Even if Josh throws the ball a little more he still is going to top out at 525 attempts. There are a lot of players wanting targets and it's going to be spread around again this year.
