  6. Your love is fading I can feel your love fading Woman it's fading away from me 'Cause your personal touch has grown cold as if someone else controls your very soul I fooled myself long as I can I can feel the presence of another man It's there when you speak my name It's just not the same Oh honey I'm losing you I can feel it in the air, it's there everywhere Oh I'm losing you
  7. I got on a public bus I paid my fare like the public does They were traveling to work, traveling to play And this is what the driver say You may be bored to the point of aggravation Excited as a lighted fuse Sick with the sight of deprivation Or you may think you've got nothing left to loose But it don't matter what you feel You can beg you can borrow or steal But as long as I'm holding the wheel I don't want no spitting on the bus

  9. In the corner of the bar there stands a jukebox With the best of country music, old and new You can hear your five selections for a quarter And somebody else's songs when yours are through I got good Kentucky whiskey on the counter And my friends around to help me ease the pain 'Til some button-pushing cowboy plays that love song And here I am just missing you again Please, Mr., please, don't play B-17 It was our song, it was his song, but it's over Please, Mr., please, if you know what I mean I don't ever wanna hear that song again
  10. Portland is such a great city. Unfortunately it attracts a lot of people who really need help. I haven’t been to San Francisco in several years, but I hear it’s much worse there.
  11. Standing in the rain, with his head hung low Couldn't get a ticket, it was a sold out show Heard the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene Put his ear to the wall, then like a distant scream He heard one guitar, just blew him away He saw stars in his eyes, and the very next day Bought a beat up six string, in a secondhand store Didn't know how to play it, but he knew for sure That one guitar, felt good in his hands, didn't take long, to understand Just one guitar, slung way down low Was a one way ticket, only one way to go So he started rockin', ain't never gonna stop Gotta keep on rockin', someday gonna make it to the top And be a juke box hero, (got stars in his eyes) he's a juke box hero He took one guitar (juke box hero stars in his eyes) Juke box hero, (stars in his eyes) he'll come alive tonight
  12. I’ve been to Europe a few times, and I always tell them to keep the change. I don’t tip as much as I do in the US but I feel weird if I don’t leave anything. I’ve noticed that tips have gone from 15% to 18% to 20% in the past ten years or so. Who decided that? I generally leave about $5 per night in a hotel, and I leave it every night so they know they will get something and maybe they’ll take a little more care with my room. They probably don’t, but I like to think they do. I rarely tip for takeout, other than putting the change in the cup next to the register.
  13. In the mornin' you go gunnin' for the man who stole your water And you fire till he is done in but they catch you at the border And the mourners are all singin' as they drag you by your feet But the hangman isn't hangin' and they put you on the street You go back, Jack, do it again, wheels turinin' 'round and 'round You go back, Jack, do it again
  14. This looks like a list made by people in their 20’s who were trying to select songs that people in their 50’s would listen to. Kind of trite.
  15. Sunshine go away today, I don't feel much like dancing Some man's come he's trying to run my life, don't know what he's asking When he tells me I better get in line, can't hear what he's saying When I grow up, I'm gonna make him mine, these ain't dues I been paying How much does it cost? I'll buy it! The time is all we've lost I'll try it! He can't even run his own life, I'll be damned if he'll run mine--sunshine
  16. Welcome back, my friends To the show that never ends We're so glad you could attend Come inside! Come inside There behind a glass Stands a real blade of grass Be careful as you pass Move along! 17. Have you seen her? So fine and pretty Fooled me with her style and ease And I feel her from across the room Yes, it's love in the third degree Oh, baby baby Won't-cha turn your head my way? Oh, baby baby Ah come on take a chance You're old enough to Dance the night away Whoa-oh come on girl, dance the night away
  18. Bus stop, wet day She's there, I say Please share my umbrella Bus stops, bus goes She stays, love grows Under my umbrella All that summer we enjoyed it Wind and rain and shine That umbrella we employed it By August she was mine
  19. You and me and rain on the roof Caught up in a summer shower Dryin' while it soaks the flowers Maybe we'll be caught for hours Waitin' out the sun You and me were gabbin' away Dreamy conversation sittin' in the hay Honey, how long was I laughing in the rain with you 'Cause I didn't feel a drop 'til the thunder brought us to
  20. Every night I hope and pray A dream lover will come my way A girl to hold in my arms And know the magic of her charms Because I want a girl to call my own I want to dream lover So I don't have to dream alone
  21. I'm crazy, crazy for feeling so lonely I'm crazy crazy for feeling so blue I knew that you'd love me as long as you wanted And then some day you'd leave me for somebody new Worry, why do I let myself worry Wondering what in the world did I do I'm crazy for thinking that my love could hold you I'm crazy for trying and crazy for crying And I'm crazy for loving you I'm crazy for thinking
  22. Workin' 9 to 5, what a way to make a livin' Barely gettin' by, it's all takin' and no givin' They just use your mind and they never give you credit It's enough to drive you crazy if you let it 9 to 5, for service and devotion You would think that I would deserve a fat promotion Want to move ahead but the boss won't seem to let me I swear sometimes that man is out to get me!
  23. If you wake up and don't want to smile If it takes just a little while Open your eyes and look at the day You'll see things in a different way Don't stop thinking about tomorrow Don't stop, it'll soon be here It'll be, better than before Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone
