  1. Did you ever have to make up your mind? And pick up on one and leave the other behind? It's not often easy and not often kind. Did you ever have to make up your mind? Did you ever have to finally decide? And say yes to one and let the other one ride? There's so many changes and tears you must hide. Did you ever have to finally decide? Sometimes there's one with big blue eyes, cute as a bunny, With hair down to here, and plenty of money, And just when you think she's that one in the world, Your heart gets stolen by some mousy little girl, And then you know you'd better make up your mind. And pick up on one and leave the other behind. It's not often easy and not often kind. Did you ever have to make up your mind? Sometimes you really dig a girl the moment you kiss her, And then you get distracted by her older sister. When in walks her father and takes you in line, And says, "Better go on home, son, and make up your mind." And then you bet you'd better finally decide. And say yes to one and let the other one ride. There's so many changes and tears you must hide. Did you ever have to finally decide?
  2. Pretty as a mid summers morn They call her Dawn Dawn, go away I'm no good for you Oh, Dawn, stay with him, he'll be good to you Hang on, hang on, hang on to you Think what a big man he'll be Think of the places you'll see Now, think what the future would be With a poor boy like me, me Dawn, go away, please, go away Although I know, I want you to stay Dawn, go away, please, go away Baby, don't cry, it's better this way Dawn, go away back where you belong Girl, we can't change the places where we were born Before you say that you want me, I want you to Think what your family would say Think what your throwing away Now, think what the future would be With a poor boy like me, me Dawn, go away I'm no good for you Dawn, go away I'm no good for you
  3. I was down at the Esplanade for the 1976 fireworks. I don’t remember much about it, other than how impressive it was When I was a kid we would go to the Ormond Beach Country Club fireworks display. I remember being in awe, but I was just a single digit age, so I don’t really know if they were anything special. Probably not.
  4. I went through the list, and I was surprised that I was familiar with about half of them. I didn’t think it would be that many. Cheap Trick in Japan was on the list, and I was looking for that one. Did I miss it, or was there no Woodstock? Perhaps because Woodstock would be a compilation of artists.
  5. Before you make up your mind To give all that love that you've been hiding Its just a question of when I've told you time and again I'll get all the love you've been denying Sooner or later, love is gonna get ya Sooner or later, girl you got to give in Sooner or later, love is gonna let 'cha Sooner or later, love is gonna win You say you'll never be mine But darling they'll come a time I'll taste all that love that you've been hiding Its just a question of time Before you make up your mind And give all that love you've been denying You've been looking for love In all the wrong places You've been looking for love All the wrong faces Gotta get 'cha girl Off this illusion Gonna save your heart From all this confusion Sooner or later, love is gonna get ya Sooner or later, girl you got to give in Sooner or later, love is gonna let 'cha Sooner or later, love is gonna win Love is gonna win
  6. I just looked it up. My local community college has a free audit option for people over 60 (I am). I may check that out.
  7. All good advice. I think the “twenty minute” rule is one of my biggest issues. I live about an hour away from most of the people I work with, which is another reason why we won’t be seeing each other after I retire. My wife keeps saying I should take a class on something. That may sound more interesting after I get good and bored.
  8. I can think of younger days When living for my life Was everything a man could want to do I could never see tomorrow But I was never told about the sorrow How can you mend a broken heart? How can you stop the rain from falling down? How can you stop the sun from shining? What makes the world go round? How can you mend this broken man? How can a loser ever win? Please help me mend my broken heart And let me live again I can still feel the breeze That rustles through the trees And misty memories of days gone by We could never see tomorrow But no one said a word about the sorrow How can you mend a broken heart? How can you stop the rain from falling down
  9. It's a heartache Nothing but a heartache Hits you when it's too late Hits you when you're down It's a fool's game Nothing but a fool's game Standing in the cold rain Feeling like a clown It's a heartache Nothing but a heartache Love him 'til your arms break Then he let's you down It ain't right with love to share When you find he doesn't care for you It ain't wise to need someone As much as I depended on you
  10. If you're down and confused and you don't remember who you're talking too concentration slips away cause you're baby is so far away well there's a rose in the fisted glove and eagle flies with the dove and if you can't be with the one you love honey love the one you're with don't be angry - don't be sad don't sit crying over good times you've had there's a girl right next to you and she's just waiting for something to do well there's a rose in the fisted glove and eagle flies with the dove and if you can't be with the one you love honey love the one you're with turn your heartache right into joy cause she's a girl and you're a boy get it together come on make it nice you ain't gonna need anymore advice
  11. I like Alex Morgan. She’s one of the best soccer players in the world, yet she runs like a girl. Knees and elbows going in all sorts of random directions as she runs along.
  12. A timely topic. I’m retiring next week after 40 years on the job. I have many “friends” at work. They are friends because we see each other every day, we get along great, and we tell each other stories about our families and what we did on the weekends, etc. We almost never see each other outside of work. Everybody has their own lives, and it is highly unlikely that I will stay in touch with anybody from work other than the occasional lunch meetup. Outside of my grown kids and my wife, I really don’t enjoy the company of anybody I know of outside of work. My kids all have their own friends and significant others, so they won’t be excited about hearing from me too often. My son lives nearby, and he lets me buy him lunch about twice a month. My daughter and her family live about three hours away, and I see them about once a month. I’m a little concerned about social interaction after the novelty of reduced obligations wears off. Of course, I still have my imaginary internet friends!

  14. On a long and lonesome highway East of Omaha You can listen to the engine moanin' out his one note song You can think about the woman or the girl you knew the night before But your thoughts will soon be wandering the way they always do When you're ridin' sixteen hours and there's nothin' much to do And you don't feel much like ridin', you just wish the trip was through Here I am On the road again There I am Up on the stage Here I go Playin' star again There I go Turn the page Well you walk into a restaurant, strung out from the road And you feel the eyes upon you as you're shakin' off the cold You pretend it doesn't bother you but you just want to explode Most times you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can All the same old cliches, "Is that a woman or a man?" And you always seem outnumbered, you don't dare make a stand Here I am On the road again There I am Up on the stage Here I go Playin' star again There I go Turn the page Out there in the spotlight you're a million miles away Every ounce of energy you try to give away As the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed With the echoes from the amplifiers ringin' in your head You smoke the day's last cigarette, rememberin' what she said
  15. One child grows up to be Somebody that just loves to learn And another child grows up to be Somebody you'd just love to burn Mom loves the both of them You see, it's in the blood Both kids are good to mom Blood's thicker than the mud It's a family affair
  16. Jerry Krause is certainly a Utica institution. 1980 was full of new wave crap, kind of hard to avoid it at the time. WOUR is still one of my favorite stations during my commutes. Does anyone listen to radio other than in the car anymore? Does anyone listen to radio at all anymore?
  17. Apparently I listened to you, but it’s too far in the cobwebs for me to remember anything.
  18. You always won, everytime you placed a bet You're still damn good, no one's gotten to you yet Everytime they were sure they had you caught You were quicker than they thought You'd just turn your back and walk You always said, the cards would never do you wrong The trick you said was never play the game too long A gambler's share, the only risk that you would take The only loss you could forsake The only bluff you couldn't fake And you're still the same I caught up with you yesterday Moving game to game No one standing in your way Turning on the charm Long enough to get you by You're still the same You still aim high
  19. Well, now every time I rolled them dice I'd win And I was just gettin' ready to roll 'em again When I heard somethin' behind me I turned around and there was a big old cop He said "Hello, boys" and then he gave us a grin 'n' said "Look like I'm gonna hafta haul you all in And keep all that money for evidence" I said, "Well, son when you hot, you hot" He said "Yeah" When you're hot, you're hot And when you're not, you're not You can 'splain it all down at City Hall I say, yeah, when you're hot, you're hot Well, when he took us inta court I couldn't believe my eyes The judge was a fishin' buddy that I recognized I said "Hey, judge, old buddy, old pal" "I'll pay ya that hundred I owe ya if you'll get me outta this spot" So he gave my friends a little fine to pay He turned around and grinned at me and said "Ninety days, Jerry, when you hot, you hot" 'n' I said "Thanks a lot" When you're hot, you're hot And when you're not, you're not He let my friends go free and throwed the book at me He said "Well, when you're hot, you're hot"

  23. There's a ship lies rigged and ready in the harbor Tomorrow for old England she sails Far away from your land of endless sunshine To my land full of rainy skies and gales And I shall be aboard that ship tomorrow Though my heart is full of tears at this farewell For you are beautiful, I have loved you dearly More dearly than the spoken word can tell For you are beautiful, I have loved you dearly More dearly than the spoken word can tell I've heard there's a wicked war a-blazing And the taste of war I know so very well Even now I see the foreign flag a-raising Their guns on fire as we sail into hell I have no fear of death, it brings no sorrow But how bitter will be this last farewell For you are beautiful, I have loved you dearly More dearly than the spoken word can tell For you are beautiful, I have loved you dearly More dearly than the spoken word can tell Though death and darkness gather all about me My ship be torn apart upon the seas I shall smell again the fragrance of these islands And the heaving waves that brought me once to thee And should I return home safe again to England I shall watch the English mist roll through the dale
  24. All my bags are packed I'm ready to go I'm standin' here outside your door I hate to wake you up to say goodbye But the dawn is breakin' It's early morn The taxi's waitin' He's blowin' his horn Already I'm so lonesome I could die So kiss me and smile for me Tell me that you'll wait for me Hold me like you'll never let me go 'Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane Don't know when I'll be back again Oh babe, I hate to go
