  2. Even if we know it is coming, what are we supposed to do about it? Duck and cover? No equipment exists to nudge it off course, and there may not be enough advance warning anyway.
  3. I hope Josh Allen’s girlfriend and mother are two separate people
  4. My son needed to grow up so the CC route was the way to go for him. I already posted about that. My daughter has always been an outstanding student, and she was given the opportunity to go to an out of state school for in state prices. She did great. Then she went to grad school, all expenses paid plus a small salary. Each kid is different. We never doubted my daughter’s ability to excel in school. We had to wait and see how my son would do, but after the dust settled it worked out fine for both of them.
  5. Every time when I look in the mirror All these lines on my face getting clearer The past is gone It went by, like dusk to dawn Isn't that the way Everybody's got the dues in life to pay I know nobody knows Where it comes and where it goes I know it's everybody sin You got to lose to know how to win Half my life Is books, written pages Live and learn from fools and From sages You know it's true, oh All these feelings come back to you Sing with me, sing for the years Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears Sing with me, just for today Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear Sing with me, just for today Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away Dream on Dream on Dream on Dream until your dreams come true
  6. My son went to a four year school right out of high school. He didn’t like being a full time student. After one year, he went to CC part time and worked part time. It took him four years (one at the four year school, then three at the CC) to get a two year nursing degree. In two more years he got a four year degree, then in three more years he got a master’s degree. All while working part time. I’m very proud of him for realizing what worked for him and following through. And he likes being a nurse in a critical care unit in a hospital. (Sorry, this is a bit of a LAMP because I’m bragging about my son.)
  7. I bet she has been reading this thread. Her name is on it. TBD is pretty well known within the Bills organization. If somebody is involved in Bills media in any serious capacity, reading boards and blogs is a way to gain insight into the mindset of the fans. This thought makes me sad. This board is generally a group of fun, interesting, intelligent people. Somehow this thread went off the rails.
  8. Sometimes it's hard to be a woman Giving all your love to just one man. You'll have bad times And he'll have good times, Doin' things that you don't understand But if you love him you'll forgive him, Even though he's hard to understand And if you love him oh be proud of him, 'Cause after all he's just a man Stand by your man, Give him two arms to cling to, And something warm to come to When nights are cold and lonely Stand by your man, And show the world you love him Keep giving all the love you can Stand by your man Stand by your man, And show the world you love him Keep giving all the love you can Stand by your man
  9. Sorry for the loss of your puppy. She will be missed. To me, that’s just about the best thing anybody can say when somebody passes.
  10. That sounds about right. We had a big family reunion in the Adirondacks. We rented a group of condos in the same area for a week in late July and people came from all over the country. My niece from Florida was not a happy camper because it was so cold the whole time. I remember that whole summer being cold.
  11. Nobody knows where my Johnny has gone But Judy left the same time Why was he holding her hand When he's supposed to be mine It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to Cry if I want to, cry if I want to You would cry too if it happened to you Playin' my records, keep dancin' all night But leave me alone for a while Till Johnny's dancin' with me I've got no reason to smile It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to Cry if I want to, cry if I want to You would cry too if it happened to you Judy and Johnny just walked through the door Like a queen with her king Oh what a birthday surprise Judy's wearin' his ring It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to Cry if I want to, cry if I want to You would cry too if it happened to you
  12. I will make small talk with neighbors while walking the dog, doing yard work, etc. Mostly we talk about harmless things like the weather, growing plants, pruning trees, dogs, etc. We have been neighbors for 20 or more years, and have only been inside each other’s houses once or twice.
  13. Good timing for me! I’m in Scotland with my wife. Spending a few weeks touring around and looking at scenery, castles, ruins, distilleries, beautiful women with pale complexions and reddish-brown hair, eating fish and chips, wishing we golfed, etc. The temperature is in the 60’s and low 70’s. Perfect. Very little rain so far. Just finished the first week of three weeks.
  14. Eagle Bay is a great area! Do you live there year round? Not many people can say that. When our kids were young, we would rent a place for a week in the summer. We used to climb Rocky Mt. almost every year (best view for the least effort in The Adirondacks). Lately, with my bad knees and my wife’s fear of falling, we have been circling Moss Lake instead. My kids still talk about the donut shop, 25 years later. We love going to the Big Moose Inn for dinner.
  15. My father was a GE engineer and he worked at a place called Apollo Park in Daytona Beach, across the street from the speedway, race track, and dog track. I was 12 years old in July 1969. I was totally into it, as were many of my class mates whose fathers also worked at space related industries. The idea that it wasn’t real wasn’t even thought about. In school, they would have us all go out to the PE fields to watch rocket launches. That was a memorable time period.
  16. I’m also in the Utica area. A lot of Giants and Bills fans, a smaller number of Jets fans, and a mixture of a few fans of other random teams. In general, I think I see more shirts, hats, license plate frames, and stickers for the Bills than for any other teams. However, if the Jets or Giants start to win, then that could change. My father in law (in his eighties) is a Giants fan because they aren’t from that new fangled, upstart AFL.
  17. It’s not the concern of getting bit that keeps me away from PPP. It’s mostly because I enjoy the humor of many people on TBD/OTW, and I found out from a few visits to PPP that some people have some pretty wacko social/economic/political thoughts. The lack of knowledge about other people’s thoughts enables me to ignore that stuff and just enjoy the humor.
  18. Oh, it's so nice to be with you I love all the things ya say and do And it's so nice to hear you say You're gonna please me in every way Honey, I got the notion You're causin' commotion in my soul Baby, you and me have got somethin' that's real I know it's gonna last a lifetime ya better believe it, girl At night I call your name Darkness fills my room, I'm only dreamin' About the time I'm gonna be with you Oh, it's so nice to be with you I love all the things ya say and do And it's so nice to hear you say You're gonna please me in every way Honey, I got the notion You're causin' commotion in my soul When I'm feelin' down You're there to pick me up and help me to carry on Aww, little things mean a lot When you need a shoulder to cry on I'm there to ease the pain and chase away the rain Aww, darlin', I just gotta say
  19. I always liked the way Fred Jackson could flow through several defenders in slow motion. He would twist and turn and nobody could get a grip on him until he had gone about five yards. The Bills also had several defenders who were very good at showing up at the site of the tackle about two seconds too late to help out,
  20. Maybe if a chick was into kayaking or some other such sport then she would appreciate that Keen sandals are ugly, but they are useful. However, after looking at me she would realize that I’m ugly and I am not useful.
  21. I’m amazed at the number of people who I see out and about in flip flops. I think they are unsafe and gross, but people wear them out in public quite often in warm weather. My own son does sometimes. But I still think they are unsafe and gross. I am too cautious/paranoid myself. But I wear my Keen sandals whenever possible. They stay on more securely, they are comfortable for a lot of walking, and they have a rubber toe cover. They probably look dorky, but I don’t care.

  23. Are you lonesome tonight Do you miss me tonight? Are you sorry we drifted apart? Does your memory stray to a brighter sunny day When I kissed you and called you sweetheart? Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty and bare? Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there? Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again? Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight?
  24. People are generally more likely to write a review if they have had a problem. I believe that reviews are generally skewed to the negative. But I still read them and factor what they say into my decision.
  25. I saw the harbor lights They only told me we were parting The same old harbor lights that once brought you to me I watched the harbor lights How could I help if tears were starting? Goodbye to tender nights beside the silv'ry sea I longed to hold you near and kiss you just once more but you were on the ship and I was on the shore Now I know lonely nights for all the while my heart is whispering Some other harbor lights will steal your love from me
