So far I’ve seen scattered announcements about schools that are closing until April 14. Are they doing this because they know a statewide announcement is coming, are they ignorant of an impending statewide announcement and are acting independently, or are we going to be experiencing different closing policies across the state?

How do you find this stuff?

I have the same questions. I haven’t pulled the trigger on any of the offers because I don’t want to forget when the introductory rate ends and then I would get charged the full price. I still get mail and email at least once a week with a special offer, even though my free subscription ran out two years ago.

I’m reluctant to post this... I’m likely to get flamed. My daughter went to UConn for undergrad and Cornell for grad. At UConn she got a BA in German and a BS in Chem. Engineering. The BA in German was so she could have a semester abroad, which is a big deal these days. At Cornell she got a MS and PhD in Chem. Engineering. She immediately got a “good job” at Intel doing research in semiconductor physics. She hated it there. No camaraderie, cut throat competition, 60 hour work weeks, no priority on work/home life balance, layoffs. She decided that this was not a good situation for starting a family. Her husband has a very good job, so shortly after the birth of my granddaughter she was able to quit, get a MS in Education, and now she’s a high school physics teacher in a middle class suburb. Loves it. Best move she ever made.

Rams and Chargers have classic logos. Ram horns and lightning bolts. Don’t mess with the classics. I assume they don’t care if they offend the sentimental memories of old guys like me. It’s all about selling merchandise to young fans. I assume this logo was tried out in a focus group.

I find it disheartening that there have not been any federal government public service announcements that give out useful advice. It’s as if the government is hoping this whole thing blows over without significant damage to the economy. If advice such as no unnecessary travel, stay home if you’re sick, wash your hands, etc. was presented as a federal government PSA, it might help to reduce the impact. However, such statements would definitely have a negative impact on economic growth, and that is perceived as a problem, especially in an election year. Edit: I just saw an announcement warning people with compromised immune systems to avoid cruises. I guess that’s a start.
