  1. Once I had a love and it was a gas Soon turned out had a heart of glass Seemed like the real thing, only to find Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind Once I had a love and it was divine Soon found out I was losing my mind It seemed like the real thing but I was so blind Mucho mistrust, love's gone behind
  2. I still have plenty of food, but if this isolation lasts for a while I hope to start cleaning out some of the old stuff. I’ve found some canned soup and ancient pasta in my cupboard. I’ve also found some frozen veggies at the back of the freezer. I refuse to check expiration dates. Just boil those suckers and then go for it.
  3. I think a regional patchwork of state and local approaches will yield fascinating results when the dust settles. For example, I believe the small cities across central NY (where I live) are following the isolation guidelines pretty well. I would be willing to bet that other small cities in other parts of the country are not following the isolation guidelines very well. Will it be apparent in a few weeks that the curve has been flattened differently based on adherence to the guidelines? It may result in a terrible human cost, but it may help for future pandemics. However, a big fear is the analogy to evacuations for hurricanes. In many cases, hurricane evacuations turn out to be largely unnecessary. After a few “false alarms” people start ignoring the evacuation recommendations. Sooner or later the big one hits. Will people start to get complacent if they live in an area that gets through this pandemic with relatively few fatalities?

  6. In the days of my youth I was told what it was to be a man Now I've reached the age I've tried to do all those things the best I can No matter how I try I find my way to do the same old jam Good times, bad times You know I had my share When my woman left home With a brown eyed man Well, I still don't seem to care
  7. Hit me with your best shot Why don't you hit me With your best shot Hit me with your best shot Fire Away You come on with a "come on" You don't fight fair But that's OK, see if I care Knock me down, it's all in vain I'll get right back on my feet again
  8. Well, on a train, I met a dame She rather handsome, we kind looked the same She was pretty, from New York City I'm walking down that old fair lane I'm in heat, I'm in love But I just couldn't tell her so I said, train kept a-rolling all night long Train kept a-rolling all night long
  9. I looked outside my window and what do you think I saw? The strangest sight I've ever seen you'll never guess just what I mean, I can't believe it myself I saw 2 Buffalos, 2 Buffalos, Buffalos on my lawn, Romping all around and stomping on the ground And all of my grass was gone.
  10. A couple years ago I was in NYC walking down Canal St. The sidewalk vendors were selling these. If I was in college....
  11. We gotta get out of this place If it's the last thing we ever do We gotta get out of this place 'cause girl, there's a better life for me and you Now my girl you're so young and pretty And one thing I know is true, yeah You'll be dead before your time is due, I know it Watch my daddy in bed a-dyin' Watched his hair been turnin' grey, yeah He's been workin' and slavin' his life away
  12. Show me the way to go home I'm tired and I want to go to bed I had a little drink about an hour ago And it's gone right to my head Everywhere I roam Over land or sea or foam You can always hear me singing this song Said show me the way to go home.
  13. Take a straight and stronger course To the corner of your life Make the white queen run so fast She hasn't got time to make you a wife 'Cause it's time, it's time in time with your time And its news is captured For the queen to use! Move me on to any black square Use me anytime you want Just remember that the goal Is for us all to capture all we want
  14. I have a few 500 piece puzzles that we bought in gift shops over the years. Things like pictures of villages that we visited. I can do them in a couple days. Amateur stuff. I’d go insane with a six inch border in a solid color. There’s the kind that put you to sleep, or the kind with lovely young ladies doing the work, or the kind with old guys who use a straight razor, etc.
  15. Watching instructional videos on YouTube (woodworking, gardening, whatever looks good) Watching various series on Netflix, Prime, Hulu, Britbox, etc. Reading books Doing jigsaw puzzles Over sleeping Over eating when the weather gets a little warmer I’ll do some yard work and some woodworking in my garage. Basically being bored and boring.
  16. Young girl, get out of my mind My love for you is way out of line Better run, girl, You're much too young, girl With all the charms of a woman You've kept the secret of your youth You led me to believe You're old enough To give me Love And now it hurts to know the truth
  17. Well, they showed you a statue, told you to pray They built you a temple and locked you away Aw, but they never told you the price that you pay For things that you might have done Only the good die young That's what I said Only the good die young
  18. Lady when you're with me I'm smiling Give me all your love Your hands build me up when I'm sinking Touch me and my troubles all fade Lady from the moment I saw you standing all alone You gave all the love that I needed So shy like a child who had grown You're my Lady of the morning Love shines in your eyes Sparkling, clear and lovely You're my lady
  19. I have the same question. In my case it’s the basement bathroom that’s being renovated, and I don’t interact with the workers very much at all. It took forever to get them to finally put my job at the front of the line. They’ve been working on it on and off for over a month because of a plumbing and jackhammering fiasco that is now finally resolved. I believe social distancing can be achieved. There’s a lead contractor who is handling the job. I will be interacting with them as little as possible, and washing my hands like crazy.
  20. I just saw an article that said West Virginia was the last state to report a confirmed case because of lack of testing, not because it isn’t there. In fact, West Virginia has an older population, and many coal miners with lung damage. They’re very scared.
  21. People who need people, Are the luckiest people in the world We're children, needing other children And yet letting a grown-up pride Hide all the need inside Acting more like children than children
  22. New York, New York, a wonderful town The Bronx is up and the Battery's down The people ride in a hole in the ground New York, New York, it's a wonderful town! We've got one day here and not another minute To see the famous sights We'll find the romance and danger waiting in it Beneath the Broadway lights But we've hair on our chests So what we like the best are the nights
  23. Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here Here comes the sun, here comes the sun And I say it's all right Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
  24. As risky as Watson... no Risky... yes I think that Allen’s touch and accuracy issues drive a need for a strong receiver with a BIG catch radius. Maybe a tight end or someone in the draft will fill this need. In the meantime, given that Brown and Beasley did pretty well, I’m confident that Diggs will do very well.
  25. There is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God I know I'm one My mother was a tailor She sewed my new blue jeans My father was a gamblin' man Down in New Orleans
