  1. I think Spiller's success is up to Chan. People on this board were screaming early last season because he got very little playing time and Chan was pass wacky. He only was able to show what he could do after Fred got hurt and Chan had no choice (slight pun there, Chan actually also had Choice).
  2. I was a little upset to see Marvcus Patton on the list. I thought he was better than average. Maybe my memory is confused because he has one of my favorite player names of all time.
  3. I originally naively thought the OP was being excited about the team that has been assembled for the coming season and was somehow trying to say that there are still doubters since there are few "big names" on the Bills Offense. One thing that is making me think differently is the fact that the debate has gone on for five pages, and the OP has not gotten back on to clarify his position. Sounds like he just wanted to throw a bomb out there and see what happened. Not cool.
  4. I think people are missing the point. The OP is trying to say that for many of the talking heads in the media, the Buffalo Bills looks like a team of late round picks and cast-offs. Not much to expect out of a team like that. The fans and the people who actually do a little research realize that this team is going to be better on the field than they look on paper. Kind of like the opposite of last year's Eagles "Dream Team".
  5. Seems reasonable for the most part, but... Corey McIntyre isn't on your list. I suppose that is possible, but I would be surprised. I don't think the coaches were impressed with Aiken late last year, even though he looked great in pre-season. The also seemed to like Caussin at TE over Onobun, but that may have been because Onobun was a very late addition to the team. I think there are several depth players that could go either way, especially with the big bodies on defense.
  6. Graham is wearing #11, Roscoe's old number. Now I'm going to be confused when I see a small, quick receiver wearing #11. After a few beverages, I may not remember what year it is or who is on the team.
  7. We went down this road last December... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/139630-bills-sign-fendi-onobun
  8. New Hartford. Just across the creek from Utica.
  9. I've wondered about this for a while. Do some teams have people and equipment that allows them to do a better job of doing this kind of grunt work? Is this one of those things that the big budget teams can spend a lot of money on, and possibly be slightly better prepared because of it? Do the teams have multiple people specializing in editing certain aspects of the game so that the appropriate coaches and players can quickly look at what is relevant for them? I doubt that those kinds of thinks make a big difference, but maybe in some cases it could help. For example, there was that story about a guy working with Maybin last year, and supposedly they looked at a lot of game film together. Thanks for any reply.
  10. I am starting my day with a big smile. Thanks for posting.
  11. I work with a guy who was originally from the Chicago area. He uses "anymore" in ways that confuse me. Calling them Da Bills would also hint at a Chicago connection (as in, Da Bears). In terms of specialists, the run versus pass defense has been a staple for a while. The no huddle offense is supposed to prevent the defense from subbing, so that the bigger, slower run stuffers are stuck on the field for a passing situation.
  12. I couldn't agree more with the OP. Let's also remember all those long, low percentage pass plays on 3rd and short. I've seen other teams do it (and usually fail) but that doesn't make it right. I also refuse to believe that Chan didn't know that Fitz was hurt, and calling long sideways passes in crucial situations was mind boggling. I know this board was full of people who were confused and upset at the time. I have also been a broken record wondering why Chan doesn't use the fullback. Even though it is a passing league, the fullback as a change of pace is also starting to gain some popularity. We all know how good Corey McIntyre is, let's see him get some action!
  13. 2nd string QB, 3rd string QB. Those positions are both vacant for all practical purposes. There were a lot of TEs that saw spot duty at the end of last season. I don't know if any are keepers. I am not convinced that Tashard Choice and Johnny White can be relied on if Fred or CJ get hurt. There are a lot of WRs on the roster. Quantity versus quality is a concern. Will Easley be any good? Nobody knows.
  14. I am pleased with the draft. Added depth and a few upgrades for sure. I can't wait to see what UDFAs are brought in for tryouts. I would like to see a few new TEs and RBs try to make the team. I also am curious what will happen with the backup QB situation. Thigpen? Smith? I hope at least one new body is given the opportunity to hold the clipboard.
  15. Sheppard is listed as 6-2, 244 lbs. Sheppard looks smallish on the field. However, if they are not the first round of defense against the run, then being fast and having awareness is what you want. I like the pick, and I think Wannstedt will have different personnel groupings for run versus pass, and he may be more useful in passing situations.
  16. Exactly. The film on him shows that he has played guard and tackle, left and right. Seems to be a perfect fit to me.
  17. This would be great. I hope Osweiler is there in the third.
  18. Who did they trade up to get? It's the McCargo scenario all over again!
  19. Peter King at si.com thinks that the Bills will take Floyd, but he also thinks the Bills should take Barron instead. He admits he is not good at mock drafts. BPA is the logical way to go, but picking somebody at what could be considered your deepest position seems a little weird.
  20. are you talkin' 'bout my generation?
  21. meet the new boss, same as the old boss
  22. I agree. Miami isn't lacking QB talent to the extent that they need to blow big bucks on Peyton. Doesn't make sense.
