  1. George Edwards survived two years with people on this forum calling for his head for at least a year and a half. Gailey will be here for at least the rest of this year, and will probably get 8 wins which will make him secure for the next year or two after that. I have never bought into the megamind talk, and I have always thought the offense was too pass wacky. I also thought Fitz could be a good game manager. Now I don't know what to think,
  2. I believe Marcel Dareus and Kyle Williams (with Carrington subbing in) was not a terrible front two. I also saw Kelsey make a tackle for loss. In fact, Kelsey looked more valuable than Mario. Perhaps we are in a parallel universe?
  3. Somehow over the next week my brain will block out what I saw today and I will be anticipating a good game next week.
  4. I expected Dickerson to be inactive. Brad Smith will probably line up as WR through most of the game.
  5. The number of sacks will depend on whether Tebow plays very much. Since he runs with the ball so often, he may get tackled after a small gain, thus avoiding a sack. However, Sanchez and Tebow are among the most sacked QBs of last season, and Tebow is also a fumble waiting to happen.
  6. This year the team has better depth. That is what lets you be competitive in spite of injuries. There are two receivers and some linemen tucked away on the practice squad. There are some rookies with potential. There are former starters like McElvin who are now backups. The injuries last year piled up in a way that (hopefully) was an aberration, and it won't be so bad this year. Key injuries to Fitz, Wood, Fred, Stevie, Mario, and maybe a few others would create problems that would be hard to overcome, but that is true with most teams. I worry about injuries every play, but that is part of the game.
  7. Forgive those who have done you wrong. A necessary outlook for long time Bills fans.
  8. I spent some time in Hawaii several years ago. I liked those 7 am kickoffs. Watch the game with breakfast, and have all afternoon to go out and enjoy the island.
  9. As a Time Warner cable customer, I wish they would hurry up and cave in. My problem with Thursday, Sunday and Monday night games is that they run too late for me. I have to get up early for work, so if I don't really care too much about the game, I'm usually done by halftime.
  10. I was wondering if someone would start a thread titled "What will be the Bills' first offensive play?" I would love to see the play that the OP described as the first play. It seems like having the first play be a loooong pass was something that was typical several years ago. I don't remember what it has been for the past few years.
  11. I was invited to a friend's house to watch the game. I might just stay home and watch it with my dog. Too nervous. I might be too nervous until the Bills have won at least eight games in one season. I think that will happen this season, but that could take two months or more.
  12. Season Opener would be a worse loss: 1) It's the despised Jets 2) It's a divisional game 3) The Jets seem to be a dysfunctional mess, and it would stink to lose to them. 4) I don't dislike the Chiefs anywhere near as much is I dislike the Jets
  13. 8-8 Not irrelevant by Thanksgiving this year. LB's are a concern. Injuries to key players could add up again,
  14. Bills' Line Clears the Way Fred and CJ Make Long Runs Game Under Control Jets Manage to Score Chan and Fitz Go Pass Wacky Bills' Fans Scream and Wail Victory is Near Johnson and Revis Battle Stevie Celebrates
  15. Everybody says Sanchez isn't very good, but he made four touchdown passes in his last game against the Bills. Over the past 5 years, the Bills record versus the Jets is 2-8. I would love to talk smack, but it is hard to talk tough with so many bad memories. Sorry.
  16. I want him to be the guy who hands off to Fred and CJ. I suppose it might be ok if he throws occasionally to keep the defense honest.
  17. I'm glad they have two receivers who know the offense. Receivers tend to be injury prone, so having a few that can be plugged in right away seems like a smart plan.
  18. The fact that other teams are picking up players that the Bills have cut is an indication that the overall talent level of the Bills is pretty good. At least that is my attempt to see things on the bright side.
  19. Last year the linebackers and cornerbacks were weak links. This year there are some new players in those positions that are probably an upgrade, but they are inexperienced and time will tell. The new D-Line should make a huge difference in terms taking some of the pressure off the linebackers and DBs. I am optimistic, but I feel that the middle of the defense is still a work in progress.
  20. No more Plax making circus catches to keep their do-or-die drive alive. I predict a close, sloppy game. I wonder what the record for 3-and-outs is for a game that is not played in a snow storm? Defense makes the difference, and the Bills squeak by, 13-10 (could be 16-10, but the Bills miss a 37 yard field goal).
