  1. I hate the Jets more than I hate the Pats, because of a) Rex and his bold claims that he can't back up. b) I want Geno to struggle in order to silence all the second guessers regarding whether the Bills picked the wrong guy. c) I think Sanchez is a scumbag, but he is out of the picture for now, and probably forever. d) there are Jets fan in my area (Utica) and I hate to see them gloat. However, if we want the AFC East to be undecided so that a second-half-of-the-season charge by the Bills could possibly put them in a position to make it to the playoffs, then the Jets should probably win.
  2. Give Thad a few more games to prove he is the real deal, and if so, then I agree with you. Andre Reed will never make the Hall of Fame. Receiver numbers are totally different now, and his window of opportunity has closed. I really dislike the reminiscing about the Super Bowl team and how great all the players were compared to those on the team now. The game has changed, the players are bigger and faster now, the playbook is WAY more complicated, and any comparisons to the teams of the 90s with the teams of today is irrelevant.
  3. AFC East game No more moral victories Win this one for real
  4. I've said it before... New England isn't that good, but the rest of the AFC East is bad enough that they have a lock on the division. When they get to the playoffs, they lose. That seems to be the pattern for the past few years, and so far it seems like it could happen again this year.
  5. Great Post! There are few teams the Bills have consistently beat, and there are many teams that the Bills consistently lose to. So far they are changing that trend this year, since they have consistently beat the Browns and Bengals in years past, and have consistently lost to the Ravens. Now if they could only change the trend against the AFC East...
  6. When is the surgeon going to remove that worthless offensive coordinator?
  7. They had multiple attempts to pound it in and failed. At that point, kick the figgie and take the (almost) sure thing. If they had been moving the ball and had just barely missed it that would have been a different story. But with multiple failed attempts already, they should have gotten the hint.
  8. Good point. Why has punt coverage been so bad all year? That seems like it could be fixed. I wonder how many other teams have the long snapper making tackles down field. Sanborn's name gets called every so often, and today he pushed the return guy out of bounds at the end (after he had made a long return and it was too late).
  9. I was also disappointed with Gilmore, but I think it is more the result of playing with only one hand. Cornerbacks are usually too small to be hard hitters, so a cornerback has to tackle low and wrap up the knees and ankles to make an open field tackle. With only one hand, Gilmore can't really be an effective tackler. He wiffed on a few that he ordinarily would have made. He was being rotated in and out, and I think they staff knows that he is not really ready to play. I wonder if the team would have been better off to keep him out this week.
  10. At what point do quarterbacks learn to 1) throw it away and not take a sack, and 2) not try to do too much by running with the ball? Why aren't the coaches finding "teachable moments" during the games or while watching film to impress upon these young QBs that they can hurt field position, fumble, or hurt themselves by trying to do too much?
  11. A couple weeks ago there was a thread about images that represent the Bills. An awful lot of them seemed to be from Dumb and Dumber.
  12. Bleacher Report says the Bills are guaranteed to lose. That seems like a good omen to me.
  13. I will always root for Fitz (unless he is playing against the Bills). Think about his... if Pettine was in Buffalo last year instead of Wanny, Fitz and Gailey would still be here. He is capable of winning games, even if his arm strength and accuracy are limited. By the way, that 40 yard bomb that he threw yesterday was not bad. His receiver had to jump up and fight for it, but the catch was made!
  14. I overcame my fear and voted Williams. He went from whipping boy to hero. Got to hand it to him. Don't forget he missed half of his first season with a broken collarbone after a big collision . He gives 100%, and I hope we are discussing the front office's stupidity for not extending him sometime soon.
  15. summers seemed to disappear in the 2nd half. injury? change in play calling?
  16. I agree with what you (and just about everyone else) are saying about the predictability. I also believe they slowed down the hurry up offense a little for this game, and it helped. I wonder if Marrone and Hackett had a conversation and decided that the hurry up should slow down a little, After three weeks, it hasn't really been as good as they had hoped, so maybe they decided to make an adjustment. And maybe Marrone threw a little weight around to make it happen. That would be a positive sign.
  17. Browns have won their last two. I thought after trading Richardson they had given up already. Turns out they are re-invented and pretty good. With all the injuries for the Bills, it suddenly seems like it will be hard to win in the NFL this Thursday.
  18. good point. they seem to be backing off from the hurry up. good idea.
  19. wasn't that lee smith? either way ej did a beautiful job.
  20. In spite of the spelling difficulties on the part of the OP, I think this is a pretty good question. If Spiller is going to run the ball until he pukes, and be expected to run the ball up the middle, then the possibiliy of an injury such as a knee blowout is a real concern. I know, I know. Football is a violent game and injuries happen. But using a back like Spiller in a manner that is not appropriate for his talents is like playing with fire. Sooner or later you are going to get burnt.
  21. Trap game for Ravens TD passes for EJ At least in my dreams

  23. I'm afraid it's going to be ugly. I worry about more injuries. Not a good time to be a Bills fan, 35-6.
  24. What i would like to know is ... Why can a bunch of arm chair GMs on this forum all agree on a few key points, yet the Bills brain trust can't figure it out? PS: I almost cried when the third-and-short play was a poorly thrown long pass down the sideline to a well covered receiver. I really thought we had seen the last of that nonsensen.
